"We had a lovely stay here . It was very homely and roomy. The bed was comfortable and we even had our own bathroom!! We were supplied with some milk, bread, jam and biscuits which was a lovely touch too. A great stay! Highly recommend!!"

"Kenny and Mairi did everything they could to make us feel welcome in their cottage. Lovely welcome gifts on arrival and some great books on walks on the island as well as wildlife were very helpful. The cottage is well located for exploring Lewis and Harris with some great points of interest in the near vicinity. The double bed was very comfortable and the towels luxurious! They had thought of everything. Wish we could have stayed longer! "

"We loved Macaulay cottage - it’s in a great location for visiting the many wonderful beaches and bays on Harris. The cottage has everything you need and the owners are really helpful. It was a great place to return to after a day out. Some of the well known walks (Scholars path and coffin trail) start from the cottage or nearby. We enjoyed kayaking with seals in the the bay by the cottage. "

"Great property, nice for our family, but would also work really well with 2 families staying together as 2 bedrooms are upstairs and two down. The two living rooms are also great for doing separate activities. The house has been really well maintained and has everything you could need in the kitchen, plus 2 smart tvs, wifi, games and books about the area. "We had a wonderful stay of one week in this absolute lovely house whith its overwhelming surrounding landcape. Such a good atmosphere, very cosy and very welcoming.
