Outright Lies
I traveled all the way from the USA to Baku, and unfortunately, my experience at Nova Sky Hotel was highly frustrating. I was redirected here by Expedia after experiencing a check-in issue at my first hotel. After a grueling, long journey, I just wanted to rest, but this place only added to my stress.
The Check-In & Pricing Nightmare
Upon arrival, they demanded an extra fee. After such a long flight and already dealing with issues at another hotel, I was too exhausted to argue, so I just paid it because I desperately needed to rest.
Only after they took my money did they inform me that no clean rooms were available, even though it was already 3:00 PM. They claimed it would take "15 minutes." That 15 minutes turned into a painful 1.5-hour wait.
Unprofessional Staff & Outright Lies
Exhausted and with no energy left to argue with the front desk face-to-face, I called Expedia support while sitting in the lobby. While I was on hold, the hotel staff did something incredibly dishonest. They told the Expedia representative over the phone that my room was already ready and that I had already taken the key!
I had to tell the agent, "Does that make any sense? I just flew from America to Baku, had issues at my first hotel, and even though they allegedly 'gave me the key,' I am supposedly choosing to just sit in the lobby café for fun?" Ironically, the moment the staff realized I was exposing their lie
