"I saw this property reviewed as “quirky” and I would propose a more appropriate description to be that this property is full of character, well loved and thoughtfully appointed, completely unlike most other properties, and comfortable. We would stay here again for sure. "
"We enjoyed our stay at Dockside. This is a small 24 unit inn. The rooms are well maintained and comfortable. There is a pet relief area and picnic tables with grills. "

"I don't normally stay in DC even if I have meetings there. But this time, Hotels.com landed me on this Historical Hotel with an unbelievable good deal so I decided to give it a try.
The hotel is nice a cosey and make me feel like visiting miniatures of Le Château Frontenac at Québec or the Empress in Victoria. I especially like the sitting area next to the lobby.
Maybe I should just stop here; otherwise, I may not get the chance to book it when I need it."

"This was out second stay at Smithfield Inn. It is a beautiful inn. The staff was very nice & hospitable. The first time we stayed we ate breakfast in the inn dining room which was much better than the bakery/cafe where your abreast now."
"Incredible stuff, were 4 days in the hotel, since the check in until the check out all stuff was very nice, we had lucky taken the corner room with a beautiful view of the neighborhood. If you want to go to know DC , Hive is the best options, national hall and all museos not more than 15 minutes walking."
"I almost don't want to hype this property too much and be a bit greedy and keep it to myself. Everything was clean and easy to check in and out. Highly recommend this property. Especially if you're headed to Busch Gardens. Only a 10 minute drive. Comfy bed, good wifi and super friendly owners and staff. "
