"The hotel was conveniently located and priced for the reason we went to Auckland this time. We didn't check the pool area, so can only comment on the service and the room. Staff was friendly and polite. Room was spacious but considerably dated, could use renovations asap. The ceiling inside the room had odd painted windows, so as soon as sunrise, there was yellow or purple light everywhere in the room, inside the bathroom and even the closet. "Room was refurbished on the inside but the fit and finish was sub par - to the point where security was a concern for me. Most concerning was the flimsy thin ply patched over the main entrance door. The door between the lounge and bedroom wouldn’t shut due to bad fit / installation. Big gaps between the external sliding door and wall create drafts for wind and extra outside noise"

"Free parking is a bonus. The room itself left much to be desired - it was dated and lacking many modern conveniences. The bed was the worst part. For whatever reason, the mattress is covered with a flat sheet instead of a fitted sheet. So of course it came away from the mattress as we got into bed and was impossible to keep tucked in as we slept. The mattress underneath was disgusting - covered in all sorts of revolting stains. Reception is awkward, as even during opening hours, we had to buzz...
