3 stars is rediculous for this property. Its a farmhouse STUPID! You obviously know nothing of being a builder or contracting. There is a MAIN staircase and then the steeper and narrower utility staircase was how it was done " way back then". Duh! I should have blocked them off JUST FOR YOU!. Maybe then I d have gotten more STARS! MATTRESSES are very subjective. Some like them soft and others firm. There's 12 there to pick from. Move around until you find one you like I guess. After all, narcissists always get the first pick! MANCAVE was disappointing? It has a slate pool table that I just paid $ 600.00 to have refelted. Oh and don t forget. There s chairs in the man cave too. New Pool table and chairs. Chairs and new pool table. How disappointing. This guest was expecting a bar room with pole dancers I guess. Please don t revisit. You give me a headache!

Happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. Wow! I guess I ll respond to each. There is an old boat outback. On 70 acres I hope it didn t get in the way. No burned out camper anywhere. Maybe a misprint on your part. There is a 5th wheel on the property . Very nice one but certainly no burn on or near it. Our internet was,in fact, out much of New years weekend. Crews were out due to ice. Many services were spotty. Its very possible there may be a dripping faucet in one of the 3 bathrooms. Our maintenance crew, I m sure , has repaired or replaced it by now. No mold that I m aware of but we ll search for sure. In a country farm house on 70 acres its very possible a mouse got in. We poison them, trap them and plug in electronics to chase them away. Housekeeping does a very good job but something can happen an hour after they re done. I m relived to hear no mice were sighted. Our efforts are paying off but the little critters are persistent. I beg to differ on any mold in the tubs. I didn t see any and if the caulk gets old or dry its replaced. As for broken mini blinds? I,too, and very tired of replacing them. I wish guests would instruct their pets and children to stop playing with them. I raised my 4 children there and my blinds lasted so long I would take them down, wash them in the bathtub and reuse them. But my children were taught to respect our home. Raise them up and lower them down . Use the Wan to open and close. So simple. I truly hope this guest had time to enjoy herself and her family after all the investigating. The pool table and man cave are in the barn. It does need repair.

Thank you so much for sharing your vacation experience with us. So happy you enjoyed your stay. The wifi has been very spotty this year. Some say the Adirondack towers are overwhelmed together with the bad weather. The locals are used to it. Thanks so much again. Glenda

Our entire team works very hard on all 12 of our vacation rentals. The first thing we depend on is if the guest is unhappy in any way they would contact us. They chose no contact and write a HUGE bad review instead. I am suspicious of people like that in the first place. We work hard in good faith and expect the same. The advertising of 70 acres is correct because there is an additional 5 acre partial adjouning this 70 acres and not.part of the property at all. There is separate tax map id s and separate taxes. So much for incorrect or lying advertising. The adjoining 5 acres has 2 mobile homes on it and 1 is used by our caretaker. The other is lived in as well. They are nice and not run down. There is certainly HEAT at this property. In the winter the full furnace is operational. In August, the time which these guests were there we place electric oil heaters in each bedroom closet . They re rarely needed , but are there. One need just open the closet and there they are. Again, they made no contact so how would we know . Again, people looking for something for nothing. The mouse can happen but is rare. We treat for them, but again, it is advertised as a FARMHOUSE. Any house in the country can have a mouse enter. The main cave is a huge hit with the guests and this is the very first group to complain of it s inefficiency. If it needs tending we do it. Again, all after the fact, complaints. The lawns are mowed before every new guest arrives . I will say, I lived here myself for 35 years and raised my 4 children there. I love this place and have enjoyed sharing it with others for a fee. The last thing I would do is present it negatively in any way. Smoke detector batteries can stop working at any moment. .a maintenance man would have been there in 10 minutes to replace anything amiss. The firepit is about 100 feet away from the house and is in an open field with a gazebo. It s very possible the maintenance crew missed something and maybe someone did leave a pair of UNDIES IN The firepit, but, OK, WE MISSED IT. WE MISSED IT! SHAME ON US. !Again, only after the fact complaints hoping to get some money back. These guests say they won t be back and also added that they won t revisit in any of my 12 vacation rentals. They haven t even been to my other ones but are quick to besmirch them. Others have enjoyed and built memories in them. Including this one. Sounds greedy and mean spirited to me.

I m always please about a guest review that they had a good time. I am very careful to watch my messages. We offer 12 properties and I am virtually "velcroed" to my phone. I rechecked my messages, emails and texts and don t see where I failed to respond . I certainly wouldn t intentionally do it. As for the dryer, I had a service man come and he left a note that parts eere on order. He has since been there and all is working.

What? Are we talking about the same house? I, myself do the final inspections after the maids complete their work. These guests say they stayed in August 2017. Why are they leaving a review 6 months later?

I was raised to respect my elders and so I'll choose my words carefully. This elderly female guest called me, notice CALLED me,and insisted I should install a landline phone as she might have to call 911. I explained that we didn't advertise that we had a phone but offered wifi. Most guests seem happy with wifi and this guest is the first to ask for a landline. She was angry with me and had a lot of negative comments over the phone with me. It seemed she was fixated on the need to possibly call 911 sometime during her stay. She called 2 other times about the same thing and was annoyed that I wouldn't have it installed during her stay. In the "amenities" section of vrbo I didn't "check" that there was a phone because there is not one. It was disclosed that there wasn't a landline phone. Guest is incorrect. The house is an OLD farmhouse as advertised, but with many upgrades. The house is NOT run down as can be seen in the photos. The plumbing is "pex" modern plumbing. No sink is falling off the wall. Many guests have come and gone since this guest and no reports of water spraying or toilets not flushing . If it was during her stay then why not CALL me about it like when we talked about the 911 service. As for a place for trash, my goodness, there's large cans in plain view by the barn and our maintenance crew picks it up periodically and if we're CALLED, then we'll make an extra trip as needed. This is also the first guest to speak of the mattresses. Everyone else seems happy. They are in good shape, some soft, some harder. In, fact, most are memory foam and they don't have springs to be"sprung". As for a shortage of a pot or pan , again, we should have been CALLED about it and we'd bring extras right there. We're very attentive to all 9 properties we offer and if something is amiss we want to know right then in order to correct it. We have spares of just about everything in our shop for this purpose. This guest said that I wasn't available for my guests. She's just plan wrong about that. I took several of her calls as she continued to be angry that there was no landline service. That is all she EVER discussed with me with no mention of any of these other things. Truthfully, I wanted to avoid her after awhile because I wasn't going to install a landline phone that I never advertised I offered. The mean spirited way of this review is troubling to me. Our team works very hard to make things right for our guests. I'm grateful for the positive reviews.
