Kick Back Cabin - The Original - Hot Tub and Walking Trails

Tucked back in the woods, at the edge of 23 acres of a roughly 150 yr. old farm, this spacious, Amish built cabin built in 2006, is the ideal place to kick back and relax with friends or just your better half. Kick Back Cabin was originally the previous owner's art studio. With walking trails on the property that lead to a small creek and a seasonal pond, the scenery is sure to inspire.

This cabin is also at the epicenter of the Hocking Hills region and all that it has to offer!

Best Family Getaway

Weve stayed at Kickback Cabin a few times. It was just as good this time as it was 5 years ago. We loved being back in the woods. Very peaceful, beautiful and the best wildlife. The cabin is super comfortable and met every need we had. We will definitely be back.

Peaceful getaway

We had a great time hiking the trails and coming home to a clean, quiet, and relaxing atmosphere at the kick back cabin! The cabin is tucked away from every day life and very private. We brought food with us and stayed in during the evenings. Itā€™s the perfect place to unwind, sit outside, and read a book. We brought our dog and the fenced in area was super convenient early in the morning. We just wish we would have stayed longer!! Weā€™re very thankful to nick and Shannon for making our stay such a great experience. Luke, Brooks, and I hope you have a great summer! We hope to stay there again one day.

Wonderful Quaint Cabin

Overall, the property was exactly as describedā€”a charming cabin nestled in the woods. We enjoyed the peaceful setting, abundant wildlife, and access to winding trails around the property.A few things to note for future guests:ā€¢While the location feels remote, itā€™s not entirely quietā€”there was occasional road noise and distant sounds of shooting.ā€¢The Wi-Fi is sufficient for light browsing, but not ideal for extensive remote work.That said, the setting and charm of the cabin made for a memorable stayā€”and weā€™d definitely consider returning in the future.

Very clean and cozy cabin. Very dog friendly. Quiet setting. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate so we werenā€™t able to check out the trails which were steps away from the cabin.

Spring Weekend at Kick Back

We enjoyed a relaxing stay at Kick Back.No surprises from description and not much to add that isn't already addressed in other reviews.Pros for us: king bed, bedroom on same floor as bathroom (although bathroom is on opposite end of cabin), economical (but could use a few repairs), secluded enough without needing 4wd to access. Gas fireplace definitely kept us warm on rainy, chilly nights. Hot tub is a little older, but clean and enjoyable (need to warm it up prior to using it).We didn't get on the trails due to the rain, but saw deer on property on first night and various birds around the cabin.All in all, a great stay that fit our needs and budget.

We had a wonderful stay at this house. Very relaxing when we returned from a day of hiking. The outdoor areas were nice. The porches were nice to sit and relax. Quiet area also. Everything inside was what we needed.

Great Location to major trails

Great location. Very Dog friendly. My dog loved being able to go in and out of the doggy doors into a fenced in space. Itā€™s way off the main road so very private. Hot tub was a nice highlight. WiFi was pretty good for being that far out.

Winter weekend away

This was the perfect place for a weekend away in March! Close enough to drive to the trails and hike and then unwind at the cabin. It was so cozy and we especially loved the hot tub at the end of the day- thanks for a wonderful weekend away!

Trails outside the door

Cute cabin. Clean hot tub. Nice trails right outside the door. Only 20 minutes from Hocking Hills attractions. I stayed alone and wished there were coverings for doors as they were mostly window.

Perfect place to relax with pets

We enjoyed our stay and were able to relax with our two dogs. The fenced in area and enclosed upper deck were such a bonus. The walking trails were really nice and the hot tub gave us a perfect view of the night sky. It was a perfect place for our short get away. We would definitely recommend and stay there again!

Great location...convenient to Athens and Hocking Hills destinations but out-of-the-way enough for relative quiet. Well-maintained and interesting trails on-property, and a nicely appointed, spacious cabin. Highly recommend, esp if you're bringing doggie friends, who will love their own fenced-in run.

10 year Anniversary Getaway

It was a nice cabin nearby a quaint little town! Me and my partner loved the fireplace and really enjoyed the open floor concept. Unfortunately, a mouse got caught in a trap under the kitchen sink, but Nick and Shannon took care of it as soon as they could, so we really appreciated that!

Comfortable & Peaceful

The cabin is tucked away at the back of the property and is quiet/secluded. The scenery was beautiful and we were easily able to get to many of the local hiking spots and state parks. If you are bringing a dog, the side yard is a great amenity.
