The Athenian House is a recently refurbished two-storey house with a big attic. It is located in one of the oldest streets of the historical neighborhood of Plaka, clustered around the northern and eastern slopes of the Acropolis and incorporating labyrinthine streets and neoclassical architecture

Perfect location!

Location and space itself were very good. Top floor bedroom is accessed through second floor bedroom, might be a problem for some groups, but not for us.

Best location in Athens!

This place was perfect!! Plenty of room to spread out for two families of 4. Cute patio. So close to amazing restaurants, shopping, and local attractions. Host made everything so easy! Quick response and very helpful. I would want to stay in this exact spot if we ever get back to Athens!

PERFECT STAY

From initial contact with Anna through departure everything was perfect. Very accommodating on the arrival time and the rental was in excellent condition. the location is central to many locations and the local restaurants are excellent. Zorbas across the street knows the manager and gave discounts. excellent rental !

Steamy visit to Plaka

This property is charming, comfortable and conveniently located for access to the Metro, ancient sites like both Agoras, Anafiotika and the Acropolis, and loads of restaurants. My only caveats: as outlined in other reviews, the two front bedrooms are extremely loud with street noise all night long and the loft (a great space) is accessible through a bedroom - so complicated if different bedtimes.

Awesome Place in a Perfect Neighborhood

This place was amazing! The unit had everything that we needed - comfy beds, towels, water, shampoo, etc.. The owner went above and beyond by leaving a book that had recommended restaurants, which we tried and they were so good! The location was perfect! You can’t beat this location! We walked to everything - the Acropolis, markets, restaurants! This place was the most perfect place to stay, especially after a long day of flying from the US with jet lag. It was perfect! You will not be disappointed.

This place was a dream. The location, the property, the staff. Everything was perfect. Ms. ANNA was responsive and answered all questions. The checkin process was seamless. Aspa was there when we arrived. The house smelled so fresh and clean ans was just as advertised. The proximity to everyrhing cant be stated enough. Literally 10min away from everything in any direction. I had onr minor issue with the tv and it was fixed immediately. We at at the next door cafe almsost every day. The stafg were awesome. I would wholeheartedly recommend this location and would absolutely staybhere again of given the chance.

Spent 5 nights. Location below Acropolis and next to shops and restaurants. Could have easily stayed longer. Family of 5 and every kid had their own room. Highest recommendation.

Athens is a breeze from this property!

We absolutely loved stay at Athenian House Plaka. The location was exceptional and we parked at Plaka Parking just a block from the VRBO. George took good care of our 9 person van. Anna was exceptional to work with and met our every need. We have some mobility issues that require us to walk only short distances. This property was so close to the things we wanted to see and the shopping and dining opportunities that it was perfect. The beds were superb and bath/wc facilities were excellent. Our family of 4 adults and three children enjoyed preparing our food and dining in the spacious greatroom. We were comfortable for four days. Our walks to the Keramikos, Acropolis, Acropolis Museum were just minutes away. And when we dined out for breakfast...it was right next door (with a discount!). Shopping was delightful in Place area and everyone ww dealt with was glad to have us in Athens. Karen and I have been traveling to Greece since 1972/73 and this was the best place we ever stayed! You must try it for yourself!

This house was adorable and perfect for our family of 5 (husband and I, 2 adult children and 1 significant other). Everything we needed was within walking distance, restaurants, shopping etc. The loft area was a great addition, my daughters loved watching their favorite movies up there. We would definitely stay there again!

Anna and her staff were excellent and always available. Location was wonderful. Only recommendations are (1) inform people that the plumbing is old and does not allow paper waste to be flushed because it could impact the decision to book or not, especially with children in the group, and (2) inform people that the restaurant next door has two tables directly under your front window and can smoke, drink, etc. the entire time the place is open. Best location in Athens!

Our family spent a few nights in this lovely property which is right in the Plaka, within walking distance to everything! The location is perfect for sightseeing and the nearby restaurants were very welcoming to us and the young children in our group. And the washer and dryer were a major plus for anyone on an extended trip. We put it to good use for sure! Highly recommended!

Amazing stay in Athens!

The Athenian House in the Plaka neighborhood was the perfect property for our visit to Athens! We had a group of 10 adults and the house accommodated all of us very comfortably and the teenagers loved staying in the attic! The location of this property cannot be beat! It is located on one of the most beautiful streets in the area, there are many taverns, restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, shops, etc. within very short walking distance. It is also a short walk to the Acropolis and other monuments. The area right outside the front door (the "perch" as we called it)quickly became our favorite spot for morning coffee and afternoon/evening cocktails with great service from the neighboring tavern. And Anna the host was extremely helpful in arranging airport transfers, in arranging a guide for a walking tour of the area and in suggesting places to eat and have a drink in the area. I would absolutely recommend this property and I hope to have the chance to stay there again. The entire experience was perfect! Thank you!

Perfect 3 days in Athens

We are a family of 5. The location of the property is perfect. You can walk anywhere in the city easily and the metro is close. The property is well maintained, large spaces, comfortable beds and clean. It really was perfect and I will recommend this property to all my friends and colleagues traveling to Athens.

Amazing property and location

An absolute gem! A spacious sanctuary in the heart of the city. Loved the two tavernas right next to the home for morning coffee and evening dessert/drinks. So much to do within walking distance. Host was so welcoming and communicative. We arrived early and they graciously allowed us to store our bags, offered recommendations of places to go and things to do. Our group of ten had ample space. Thanks for a fantastic end to our vacation.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft in exzellenter Lage

Nur 5 Minuten von der U-Bahn-Station Monastiraki entfernt liegt das Haus mitten in der wunderbaren Altstadt von Athen unterhalb der Akropolis. Aufgrund der zentralen Lage lässt sich vieles zu Fuß besichtigen. Die Ausstattung des Hauses ist exzellent. Es gibt unzählige Restaurants in der Nähe. Die Kommunikation mit Anna war sehr nett und prompt. Die Unterkunft ist für einen Besuch Athens unbedingt zu empfehlen.

Super House in the Centre of Athens

Lovely house with easy walking access to all the main sights in Athens. It had everything we needed and is like walking into history. Situated just under the Acropolis, we saw tourists talking pictures of the road outside and even the front door. Anna is incredibly helpful & friendly; she answered all queries & helped us a great deal. Anna also booked airport transfers which were easy, friendly & helpful. Cafe Melina next door provided good food and atmosphere. We enjoyed shopping for leather goods with Fortis (excellent service) at Kion Leather, Chatzichristou 10, Athina 117 42. It is just behind the Acropolis museum. The Acropolis is museum is stunning and the food (full restaurant) at the Acropolis museum is amazing with incredible views of the acropolis. Finally, The Little Tree Cafe & Bookstore is lovely for a calm atmosphere with good food & wine until 12midnight; it is at Kavalloti 2, Athens 117 42 - again behind the Acropolis Museum. Finally, this is Athens and the house is in a tourist area - it can be noisy with some singing at night at the weekend when we stayed. It was not a problem - we took earplugs just in case. Just go and join in the Greek singing. This is a special place and well worth a visit. We would definitely come back; this house is lovely, Athens is wonderful and Anna is incredaibly helpful. A magical stay Thank you.
