"We have just returned from a couple of nights at Brewers Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottage is spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and bigger than it seems from the photos. Foolow is convenient access to some lovely areas and walks in the Peak District, and just a 10-15 minute walk from the cottage is the local pub that does fabulous food and has very friendly staff. Do take a torch for the walk there and back on darker nights though!! All in all, a fantastic stay and we would...

"This was the perfect place for a long weekend away. The place was incredibly cozy, and provided a lovely place from rest and relaxation. The bathtub is AMAZING and the location was perfect - beautiful views all round, a lovely walk along a river, and a pub! It was nice to not be right in the centre of Bakewell but was still incredibly convenient. Highly recommend!"

"An excellent property, very homely, cosy and welcoming. Would definitely return. Found laundry basket, spare mattress covers and oven gloves in main bedroom. Not a great problem at all, but think these items were inadvertently left at the changeover clean. But this is not an important criticism - the property was wonderful."

"Very easy experience from booking as great communication from the owner. This self catering rental has everything you need from a comfortable lounge to a fully equipped kitchen, I even cooked a full English breakfast! Surprisingly quiet considering it was on the second floor of a 3 story block accessible up 2 flights of concrete stairs therefore would not be suitable for less able bodied people. Taxis cost roughly £5 into town, however, the local bus stop is close by. Ample off street parking...

"The room is well renovated and everything works, mainly the shower. The breakfast is excelent, but expensive. There are some work in progress on the square in front of the reception, with the street interrupted, so the taxis and ubers sometimes don’t come to the right place. But it is a good location anyway to walk to the nice city centre of the (former) “steel city”, already converted to pedestrian streets. There was a fire alarm once in an ungodly hour, with everybody using the stairs to go out. It was not clear if someone in a given room made some smoke or if it was a failure on the programmed weekly fire exercise."
