"The place needs urgent attention, it looks good on pictures when u book but it is not well maintained, my room blinds couldn't closed well only halfway, spider webs on the wall I had 2 clean them before I sleep. No bell at the entrance gate u stand there for ages. Decorders were changed more than twice not responding. "Snezana and the Staff made my stay in Umhlanga unforgettable. I’ve travelled to South Africa more than a dozen times and this Guesthouse was by the best experience I’ve ever had. It was like home away from home. I will definitely stay here again next year when I visit South Africa."

"Das Zimmer mit der Ausstattung war gut, es gab einen Kühlschrank, eine Mikrowelle und eine Klimaanlage. Super war der direkte Zugang zur Poolterrasse und der Blick aufs Meer und die Silhoutte von Durban. Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit, das Frühstück wurde immer frisch zubereitet. Der Poolbereich bräuchte dringend eine Renovierung."

Our suites were so luxurious and well appointed, with secure garden parking that our...

Cockroaches when the sun goes down. One curtain where two is definitely needed, and worn with some holes. I get...

"This old-fashioned guest house is a lovely place to stay in the central Durban area. We really appreciated the ease of getting around -- easy access to many good things. The owners are friendly, and the staff are outstanding. We enjoyed our stay very much."

"Great locationIt was a good relaxed and quite stay. Host is welcoming and very helpful. I certainly will be booking for my next stay in the city. I can’t rate excellent, as there is always a room for improvement. I recommend Mackaya Guest Hiuse! "
