Beautiful wildlife sanctuary on goose creek with kayaks!

Now accepting Month to month rentals until June 1. The rate is 1900/month this includes utilities and snow removal.

Located on the Goose creek wildlife preserve in Loomis Bay this is truly the sweet spot on Chautauqua lake. We are close to all the major attractions on the lake and minutes from the beautiful town of Lakewood and the Jamestown Comedy Center. We have a 40 ft dock with direct access to the lake with 3 kayaks to use. This is the perfect place to sit back and unwind in this natural paradise on the lake minutes away from Chautauqua counties major attractions.

This is a 4 season 3-bedroom house that will comfortably sleep 8, there is room for up to 3 cars (commercial vehicles and trailers can park at Loomis bay park next door) . We allow pets at a 50/stay per pet no more than 2. This is a fully furnished home with Central heat and Air Conditioning. It has a full-size washer and dryer, and fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher. We have high speed internet and a Roku TV with Netflix, Amazon prime, Disney Plus, and Apple TV. I also take COVID seriously here and I have installed an air cleaning system that will remove pollen and all viruses including COVID 19 from the heating and cooling system. We are 10 minutes from Lakewood / Jamestown, the biggest city in the county so you'll have lots of restaurants, a mall, the comedy center in Jamestown and other entertainment options. The Harbor hotel, Wegmans and Walmart are very close by for your convenience. There are 3 Kayaks available to use. You are 15 minutes from the Chautauqua Institute and 10 minutes from Bemus point. We have a dock that is 40 ft long that you can park your boat and jet skis on (low draft only). There is a fire pit and seating for 4. There is an enclosed heated porch for relaxing and enjoying the wildlife. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy everything Chautauqua lake has to offer!

This place was perfect for what we needed. It's not fancy oruppity. It's comfortably and peaceful and had everything we needed to relax. There were camp chairs in the shed. It was close to Wegmans and Jamestown and on a quiet street with lots of wildlife. The couches were comfortable and reclined so we could have a movie night. We were able to fix meals every night in a well stocked kitchen.We did movie, and the dogs loved sitting and watching all the wild life.It was too chilly to use the kayaks, it would be a perfect paddle in the warmer month. We did morning stretches on the back porch. While we were there we visited family, went to Amish country,played games and did crafts at the kitchen table. The neighbors are close, but we still felt like we had privacy. The neighbor was friendly without being intrusive at all. I want to return when it warms up just for the kayaks. Renting 3 kayaks would be expensive, so I think that is a really special amenity. The fire pit is also perfect for roasting marshmallows. The shower had plenty of warm water and good natural light. The only bad part was having to leave. We stayed for 3 nights, and we were just getting into full relaxation mode. There are five steps to get into the house, but there is a bedroom with a king sized bed downstairs and a bathroom, so it could work for my mother who has some mobility issues. I see myself returning in the summer months. Thank you to the owners for sharing your wonderful spot. You have a real gem!

This was a last minute reservation for an unexpected stay over Thanksgiving. Ashville is my hometown and I loved being central to family, shopping and visiting old haunts. The property turned into a winter wonderland and the cabin was super cozy. I was able to make several Thanksgiving side dishes thanks to the stocked kitchen. We certainly enjoyed being able to stretch out comfortably in several rooms to relax and watch what we wanted on different smart tvs. All the comforts of home, great communication from the host, we'll be back!

This place was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful! We had such a nice relaxing time. The kayaks were fun. We loved suttung in the got tub and looking at all the beautiful stars ar night! The neighbor was very nice too! The place is very clean and cozy!

This is our 2nd stay. The hosts are amazing. The home is well stocked so all you need to do is hit a grocery store and then relax. The dock is easy to get all of the kayaks in and out. There are a ton of osprey and other birds in the area. Morning coffee on the porch is relaxing. The fire pit was so relaxing after being on the lake. Can't wait for next summer.

Terrible Stay

1. We were greeted by the neighbor in his underwear. (My 8-year-old love that)Then he came over to us and explained where we could park, where we could walk and where we couldn't. It was like we had eyes on us the entire vacation.I'm the last night One of the upstairs bedrooms was filled with wasp when we opened up the door. So we were not able to sleep there. We had to sleep on the floor in the living room. We contacted the owner and let her know and her exact words were you could pack up and leave Now.What it's 8pm I am not going to pack my family up and leave. The neighbor came pounding on the door saying he wanted to spray something in that bedroom. We refused because our 8-year-old has severe asthma and we had our dogs with us. So we were not going to take any chances when we knew we were just leaving right away in the morning.

The peace of wild things

We’d never been to Chautauqua lake so this was all new. This house is billed as a wildlife experience and it surely is! Goose Creek is quiet except for bird song. Beaver swim by and geese go past with their babies. This house was really comfortable from beds to couches to the glassed in porch that looked out onto the water. Everything clean and easy to live in. The outside swing on the water is a beautiful spot in the evening. WiFi was fast, neighborhood was quiet, and location was great for visiting other towns and sights on this gorgeous lake. Good restaurants nearby, other wildlife refuges and ice cream! Lots to see around this area. We loved every minute and plan to be back soon. Host was quickly helpful when we had a question. It is highly recommended if you like nature!

Weekend getaway!

This was a great cottage for a last min Ute weekend getaway! It’s on a quiet little inlet, so we watched lots of boats go by, had a nice campfire and just enjoyed a beautiful weekend outside! The owner and neighbors were so friendly as well!

Perfect cabin for quiet getaway

The cabin was perfect for our family (parents and college aged kids). The kitchen was fully supplied with any cookware you will need plus a dishwasher. The beds are super comfy and so relaxing after hiking or kayaking all day. There is plenty of space for everyone so you don't feel like you are on top of each other. Launching our kayaks was easy from the dock and the river is so smooth and easy to paddle. The whole neighborhood is quiet and you can take a nice walk to a park. If you do want to venture out to Chautauqua Lake, you are just around the curve, but far enough that you don't hear boat noise all day. The owners were great. They answered any questions we had promptly and resolved the minor glitches right away. Would highly recommend and would visit again.

Great Vacation

There is a hot tub, kayaks, or you can relax on the sun porch My adult children used every amenity every day. great local restaurant's ice cream stands and stores in case you forgot something. and of course you are very close to the comedy museum. My family would definitely come back and stay at this property again in the future

Great location, nice quiet cove

We enjoyed our stay and loved having the convenience of the dock. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and the neighbor was quite helpful. The house could use a little TLC. The sliding door from the kitchen/living room to the screened porch was quite difficult to slide and would only open about a foot. The thermostat resetting at 10:00pm made it uncomfortable for the upstairs guests. We misunderstood the listing of BBQ grill. The house had an outdoor griddle. The owners were responsive and answered our questions immediately.

Peaceful retreat!!

The cottage came well equipped with all the comforts of home. The location was tucked into a canal and across from a nature reserve, which made for a very serene stay. It was nice to to be able to utilize the kayaks in the canal on the calm waters too. After a long day of fishing, having the hot tub was a plus and a fire pit stocked with wood made unwinding easy. Enjoyed our 2 weeks and caught a lot of fish!!

Great weekend

Our weekend with out of town family was a last minute decision. Literally booked the day before check-in. Clean, great location, and owners very accommodating. We definitely would book again. Would love to do a summer weekend.

Booking was as advertised. Nice location, just up the creek from the lake. Close to anything you might need, but out of the way. Quiet, dead end street. Would stay here again.

Needs Help

As a season traveler I expect the houses I rent to be clean and have proper facilities. In this house it needed a good cleaning and update. The stove and grill were not cleaned and we were not able to use them. In the hot tub the water was cloudy and we felt that it was not safe to use. The major problem was the lack of water in the house. You dont expect to have to wait to use water in the house. The screen doors were hard to open, there were some holes in the walls and some of the curtain rods and blinds were broken. Upon arriving we had to wait for over an hour to sit outside while someone cut the grass. We were also a little disappointed at the location, as we thought the house was located on the lake and it was not. We were also a little offended by the envelope by the cleaning staff for a tip. Especially, since the house was not clean. We would not rent this house again.

Relaxing Getaway Location

We had a nice time staying here at Goose Creek. We saw a river otter fishing for his dinner and a gray Heron fly by, Nice! The cottage is clean and well appointed with kitchen things you may need. I didn’t se any towels when we arrived and went to Walmart and bought some as I hadn’t brought any. Soon as we got back my husband found some in the laundry room closet 😖. The cottage is close to lots of eateries and a short drive to Jamestown and the National Comedy Museum. We enjoyed our stay and would rent again. The only trouble we had was with the Roku TV didn’t want to work well, at night when relaxing (it was raining) I wanted to watch a movie on Netflix but it kept stopping then going back to the Home Screen both nights we were there. I eventually gave up and watch on my Kindle tablet. Thanks to Dan and Melinda for sharing their wonderful cottage. Cheers!

Outstanding Creek Cottage

Wonderful property with excellent access on Goose Creek and view into the refuge where we saw deer, beaver, and geese. Very clean inside with nice size bedrooms and renovated kitchen. Was wonderfully set up and appreciate the little details like inside board games if it rained, soap and snacks! Clean hot tub and 3 kayaks was a really nice feature. Thank you so much for letting us stay there!! Will return.

Beautiful Location

The location was beautiful. Moments away from the lake with a river inlet right behind the home. The wildlife viewings were incredible. The weather for the weekend we stayed wasn’t the best. Raining and cold, but being able to sit out on the enclosed porch and view everything was a blessing. I think the home has been going through some updating. The improvements are very nice. We’re hoping to stay there again when the restorations have been completed and the weather is warmer. Every amenity you could ever need was there. I could’ve packed a lot less, but I’ve never stayed anywhere where absolutely “everything” you needed was included. Kudos to whoever keeps track of the supplies, they’re doing a great job. Our only complaint would be the road leading to the house. Major potholes are everywhere so be careful. We drove in at night so it was a bit challenging to try to avoid them all.
