In the summertime you can go for long hikes through the mountain landscape and experience the unspoiled nature and the rich wildlife. Lake Farstadvannet and several other mountain lakes in the area invite you to exciting fishing for trout (fishing license required). You can also enjoy cooling off in the fresh lakes on warm summer days. If one day you don't want to cook yourself, you can order local food at Ljosland Fjellstove. In winter, there are good cross-country ski trails right outside the front door. From the cottage you can look at the ski lift for the downhill slopes. Ljosland is considered one of the most snow-sure destinations in southern Norway.
