"A lovely pub with a stunning beer garden and direct access to the canal path for walks to Carnforth Morecambe and Lancaster. Only issue was the heat in the room which I appreciate it was unusually hot but room 3 also has a large noisy extractor fan outside the window so it was either heat or noise. The fan does get turned off at night. Would still stay again and the food was excellent."

"The service, accommodation was exceptional. The hotel was relaxed and totally customer focused. The staff are attentive and accommodating, knowledgeable about the area. All the staff presented themselves as professional but friendly always smiling and open to conversations and commentary. The spa is fantastic, relaxing and rejuvenating. "There seems to be no mobile phone coverage at the County Lodge Carnforth. When I arrived at 8.30pm 25/5 the door was locked shut, the place was in darkness and a note attached to the door said to phone a mobile number to gain code keys and access BUT their number failed to ring. Tried multiple times, including 100m away in 3 directions. A landline number was given on the accommodation door, this also failed to ring. "Lovely place to stay, beautiful countryside. Francesca and Pete made us feel extremely welcome as soon as we arrived. Nothing we asked for was too much for them to sort out. The room was amazing, clean and spacious - everything that we needed was there and more, great night sleep - bed was really comfortable. The bar area was amazing. Breakfast - there was everything that you could as for. Only thing we wished we would have done is booked for two nights not just the one. We will be definitely...

Pub was not open Sunday evening, so we didn't get to eat here, but heard that the food is very good. No breakfast in morning, but lots of options in Cartmel so wasn't an issue. Would recommend."

"From the first welcome to the final farewell, it was a joy to stay there. Substantive breakfasts, pet friendly, old manor house setting with great views. Good choice of relatively local (less than 10 miles) public houses for evening fare. Already hoping to get back there when next visiting the Lakes, which start only six miles north."

"It’s a majestic and beautiful property which has been tastefully decorated. We stayed in the family room (2 adults and a teenager) and it was huge and lovely. The only criticism would be about the bathroom…the shower pressure and no shelving in the shower or bath to put your products on (very minor though). We can’t speak highly enough of all the staff from the reception, to the restaurant/breakfast and bar. A special mention to Brendan who made one of the nicest Espresso Martinis I’ve ever...

"Good location. Friendly & welcoming staff. Great views of the bay from our room which was lovely & spacious. Stairs only to access rooms so beware if you have heavy or large luggage. À la carte breakfast was good quality. Convenient with the onsite bar & restaurant. We stayed during the week so no problems with noise. Car park is in a back lot & very small. "
