Welcome to the Creek Cottage, a peaceful waterfront retreat tucked among the towering pines of Arnold, California. From the moment you arrive, the fresh mountain air, wooded surroundings, and gentle sounds of the creek invite you to slow down, settle in, and enjoy a more relaxed pace.

This charming, single-level mountain cabin welcomes up to seven guests and offers one bedroom, two beds, and one-and-a-half bathrooms. With no stairs inside, a private entrance, self check-in, and free parking on the premises, arriving and getting comfortable is easy.

Begin your mornings with a fresh cup of coffee from the Keurig while enjoying the peaceful forest setting. Spend your afternoons exploring the creek, visiting the private lake, hiking beneath giant sequoias, or discovering the shops, restaurants, and wineries of downtown Murphys. In the evening, return to the cottage to grill dinner, gather around the firepit, roast s’mores, and stargaze beneath the pines.

Inside, the cottage offers a warm and inviting space for your group to relax after a day of mountain adventures. Stay comfortable year-round with central heating, air conditioning, ceiling fans, and a cozy indoor fireplace. Complimentary Wi-Fi, a TV, books, and reading materials provide plenty of options for quiet evenings or rainy mountain days.

Sleeping Arrangements

The Creek Cottage offers flexible sleeping options for families and groups:

• Bedroom 1 features a king bed for two guests, with space for a Pack ’n Play for an infant or toddler.

• Bedroom 2 includes a queen bed and twin trundle, comfortably sleeping up to three guests.

• The living room offers a raised queen AeroBed with pillows and bedding, providing an additional sleeping option for two adult guests or kids.

Guests may choose the arrangement that best fits their registered group. All overnight guests and sleeping arrangements must remain within the property’s maximum approved occupancy.

Outdoor Camping Experience

For guests craving a little more adventure, a pop-up tent may be available to set up on the deck, complete with air mattresses, pillows, and bedding for a cozy camping-style experience beneath the pines. Advance notice is required, and availability depends on weather and seasonal conditions. This outdoor option does not increase the property’s maximum permitted occupancy.

Coming in Spring 2027

We are planning an unforgettable glamping experience in the clearing across the creek. The furnished glamping tent is expected to sleep two to four guests and provide the fun of camping with convenient access to a nearby private shower and kitchen —the best of both worlds! Details and availability will be added once the space is completed and ready for guests.

The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare everything from quick breakfasts to family dinners. The outdoor grill and dining area provide another wonderful place to cook, eat, and spend time together surrounded by nature.

Step outside to enjoy what makes this property truly special. Guests have access to the entire property, including the creek, a private backyard, private patio or balcony, outdoor furniture, an outdoor dining area, a BBQ grill, and a firepit. The waterfront setting creates a beautiful place for morning coffee, peaceful conversations, wildlife watching, and evenings beneath the stars.

Guests also receive access to a nearby private lake where they can enjoy swimming, fishing, boating, and picnicking amid the beautiful Sierra scenery. Whether you spend the day beside the water or venture farther into the mountains, the Creek Cottage places you close to some of Calaveras County’s most memorable attractions.

Explore the magnificent giant sequoias and miles of trails at Calaveras Big Trees State Park, enjoy nearby lakes and recreation areas, or take a scenic drive to Bear Valley for year-round mountain activities. Downtown Murphys is also within easy reach, offering wine tasting, locally owned restaurants, boutiques, live music, and historic small-town charm.
