Escape bustling city life in this quiet Meadowmont community cabin. Bear's Meadow offers fun for the whole group: a large backyard for family fun, wraparound deck for dinner under the stars, and a small game table for some friendly competition. Plus, you can bring your lovely dog along with you for a small, nightly fee!

Bear Valley Ski Resort is great for a day full of wine tasting and skiing. Plenty of hiking and photo opportunities are at Big Trees State Park. Snowshoe Brewing Company is just under a mile south, and Big Trees Market is right down the street for you to stock up on your cooking supplies! There is a Dollar General accessible by a three-minute drive for all of your convenience store needs. Need to grab some gear for your outdoor adventure? Sierra Nevada Adventure Company is a quick two-minute drive south down Pine Ave. Bear's Meadow offers membership privileges to Sequoia Woods Country Club and Mountain Retreat.

Firewood is not provided; it can be purchased locally.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ā€˜Yesā€™ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 4 vehicles.



Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the ā€œDamage Waiverā€). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Comfy, Spacious, Centrally Located

The cabin was great for a family for so many reasons--and dog friendly to boot! The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and staying in, family games, tons of movies, kids books, space to play, and a spacious deck and well-fenced back yard. It is as advertised and made for an easy family trip to the snow. There are lots of things to see in the area and we'd love to come back and stay again!

Stay at Arnold

The place was great. Started off with a slow start because it was obvious the cleaning crew hadnā€™t been there. A tip was left out for them and the beds werenā€™t made. The place was extremely hot as well and took a long time to cool down. The air conditioner wouldnā€™t stay at the set degree. It felt as if the thermometer was being controlled by an smartphone other than that and after everything got situated it was overall a great stay. Hot at times (we were there during a heat wave) but overall the property was amazing. The backyard was great for our family and our dog. Great location to Arnold. I recommend this place to stay

Second Visit Still Great

My family and I visited this cabin for the second time. It's a great place for a family group, especially if you have dogs. There's an enclosed yard, a great deck, and access to an open meadow. It's close to the grocery store for convenience and also just a quick drive to Calaveras Big Trees and a great little lake for swimming and fishing. There's also air conditioning that actually works and ceiling fans, which are all so important in the hot months. The beds are very firm, which isn't really my cup of tea, but not a deal breaker, just something to be aware of if you have a very strong preference.

Wonderful!

Great little cabin for a family ski weekend. We had four young kids and it was a great setup with a fenced in yard for the kids to play. Also, we really appreciated the baby gate to keep the youngest from climbing the stairs. Clean, good location, and stocked with everything we needed for the weekend.

Only complaint we would have has nothing to do with the property. It was nice and located by a meadow. But we did have a delay from getting into the house due to late cleaning. About 2 hours. We were not offered in compensation. When you are only stay the weekend thatā€™s a long time.

Perfect Base for Exploration and Relaxation

This cabin is in the perfect location for easy access to town amenities while still feeling like you're away from it all. It was a short drive to White Pines Lake and Calaveras Big Trees and was also an easy drive to Columbia State Park . My family of 7, plus our 2 small dogs, had plenty of space for all our needs. The kids loved the small pool table and access to the meadow. Some of the pots and pans were put away dirty, probably by the previous renters, so that was a little frustrating, but not a big deal. We just washed them before cooking. Overall, it was a great place and we'd happily return again on our next visit.

Great location

We enjoyed our stay. It had all the amenities that was in the listing. The location was perfect for us and it was so quiet and peaceful. We would have liked to been able to use the BBQ but there was not enough propane. Other than that we had a great time and would stay here again.

Coffee maker didnā€™t pump water. My main concern was being charged high fees by Expedia and VRBO in addition to payment of advertised cost. Seems like too many fees. A refund seems in order for one of these. As it stands I will not use Expedia again due to these hidden charges.

Nice Getaway

Our family really enjoyed their stay, the lay out of the home was very open and spacious. Kitchen well stocked.. Enjoyed having a deck to sit out on. The home location was close to services ie grocery store, close to Big Trees State Park. The check out time seems a little early. The home was fairly clean except for some dusty surfaces(ie shelves in wine glass case)noted that air filter was way over due to be changed, and there was a ring around tub.

Beautiful Cabin

This cabin is wonderful! It was perfect for our dog, he had lots of room to run around in the fenced in yard. The cabin is comfortable and well stocked. We definitely will be coming back.

Wonderful comfortable cabin

Clean, comfortable and cozy! As all the previous reviews stated, the cabin had all the amenities we needed and more! My teens loved the loft. Perfect location to an excellent market and dining. Weā€™d love to come back and experience Bear Meadow when it is full of snow.
