Chic Greek Villa & Cave Estate with Pool and Hot tub

Come and experience our elegant, relaxing estate in the sunny island of Crete. A getaway for all seasons! The villa along with the cave maisonette are located in the picturesque village of Myrtia which can be found in the middle of Crete in the county of Heraklion. The charm and tranquility of the village is in marked contrast to the hustle and bustle of the coastal resorts. For those who love the sea, there are excellent beaches half an hour away from the house.

Myrtia is a farming community surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. We are in the heart of the Peza wine country. Some fine wineries offering free wine tasting are only a few minutes drive away. For food lovers, nearby are restaurants with genuine local food, both budget and gourmet. The region offers the famous Cretan cuisine with its basics: extra virgin olive oil and wine.
In the village, there are two grocery stores –one opens on Sundays also, a bakery, the museum of writer Nikos Kazantzakis, a bar, three tavernas –one with delivery service, a few churches –one dated back to the Byzantine era, a “fairies” cave and a football pitch, all in walking distance. There are a lot of sightseeing places around Myrtia which can be discovered with the villa as a starting point. The Minoan Palace of Knossos lies 10km away, Heraklion city 15km and the famous Hersonissos and Malia resorts 35 km away. The Agarathos Christian Orthodox Monastery built in the 15th century lies in a distance of 5km and so is Thrapsano village renown for its ceramics.

The Estate is ideal for large families or multigenerational groups of friends and offers a high degree of privacy. 14 guests are accommodated in beds, an extra 4 young adults or kids in sofa-beds and a baby in a cot .There are seven bedrooms with their own bathrooms. Toys and books available to keep kids happy indoors when overdosing under the sun. Baby cot is available upon request. Clean bed linen and towels are provided. Please feel free to ask for food service or any other request and we shall inform you on th eprice and availability. The open plan living areas are furnished with Greek themed art and linen and original antique pieces that belonged to the family for generations. 3 TVs are Smart LED HD but we'd rather you enjoy the company of those in your group. In case you still need to stay connected there is free wi-fi with a link-extension for the outdoor areas. The landscape with endless mountain views is ideal if photography, painting or writing is your hobby. You can enjoy the sun, the bright blue sky, the chirping of crickets in the garden and the endless view of the surrounding valleys, olive groves, vineyards, hills, nearby villages, and church steeples. There is a beautiful view of the valley and hills from tall, western-facing windows. Enjoy the outside seating areas (front veranda, back garden yard or pool area) that are very relaxing for sitting and reading in the sun or shade. If you practice yoga, bring your mats. It is wonderful to practice outside in the morning / evening. The private swimming pool is ideal for relaxation and games in water. A shower by the pool makes your life easier. In the evenings you can watch the sunset and spot the sparrows or swallows that fly to the pool to wet their bellies on the water. Please note that the swimming pool is not heated and is therefore in use from April/May to October/November. There is an outdoor courtyard in the back of the house with a few orange trees and a barbeque to cook with coal or olive trees wood. If you smoke we would appreciate it that you do so outside. Winters are mild and summers are fantastic with dry and warm days and cool nights. You would have the use of the entire property. Having said that, we might need to come by to water the vegetables garden, clean the pool or check upon the solar power measurements. To do so, we would first contact you via what's up. The roof is covered by solar energy panels because we collect electricity power from the sun. Upon arrival we can help you with anything else you might need (car rental, airport pick-up, reservations etc.). The airport and port are 15km away.
