Perched on a bluff overlooking the Neuse River, nestled among ancient oaks and pines –you'll discover the magic of CALL MY BLUFF cottage located next door to the Journey's End cottage. The shared 70' dock provides ample space for gathering over coffee in the mornings, sunsets in the evening, relaxing, fishing and enjoying the views of water foul along the river. Dolphin frequent the waters off of the dock. Conveniently located between Camps Seagull and Seafarer, the cottage is only 10 minutes away from Oriental, the sailing capitol of North Carolina. A free ferry ride across the Neuse and a short drive will take you to Beaufort, Morehead City, and the world-renowned beaches of the Crystal Coast. Historic New Bern is just up the river, and the tri-county area has an abundance of restaurants – from Mom'n'Pop shrimp burgers to 4-star International Cuisine. CALL MY BLUFF cottage features a painted white pine interior with one bedroom, a large open living space, and a stocked kitchen. A waterfront screened porch and deck with expansive river views and continuous breezes will be the perfect beginning to your CALL MY BLUFF cottage stay. Cottage accomodates five, and rents from Saturday to Saturday. Long-term renting available. Perfect for honeymooners!!

Quaint Cottage

Quaint little cottage for a last minute summer getaway with my fiancé. We loved the screened-in porch, where we ate lots of dinners! The bed was super comfy! Thanks for sharing your cottage with us Terry!

Quiet waterfront getaway

My mom and I rented Terry’s cottage for a quiet weekend in a beautiful setting and that’s exactly what we got! Terry is extremely responsive and helpful and will do everything to make your stay the best it can be.

Great Getaway

We had a great time at this quaint cottage! The view is amazing! We enjoyed fishing and relaxing on the river, and visiting many of the nearby towns. Our host, Terry, was so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We can’t wait to return to our new favorite spot!

Cutest cabin on the river

This was the cutest cabin right on the Neuse river. It's so cozy but can actually sleep a good amount of people with the loft. The bed was so comfy and plenty of extra blankets and bedding provided. The AC was cold and everything you need is right there. The porch is screened in and I loved spending hours on it watching the birds and occasional dolphins go by. Terry was so helpful with ferry info and what to do across the river. Can't recommend this place enough

Most of a week away!!

Loved relaxing and watching the river!!! We saw dolphins out back and other wildlife. Across the river we got to see the fighter jets coming and going. Rented a boat and spent the day on the river. A short drive to the ocean after an easy ferry ride. The cottage was lovely and perfect for two. The outside shower is a treat as are the kayaks. Great place and a great time!! Thank you and we hope to return🌞

A wonderful get away location!

Call My Bluff called my bluff😊😁😁in a great way!! My goal/need was to do nothing!! l just needed another week to continue my relaxing.. The quaint & pleasantly old beach feel of this rustic cabin is charming & felt like home. All you need to relax is there! I can’t say enough about Terry! There for every question & helpful at every corner. LOVE the dock & sunsets…….. the river fish weren’t interested in worms, but they were there teasing us!! A wonder and cool time to be introduced to the Neuse!! Day trips to historic NewBern & quaint Oriental were grand! I’ll be back!!!

Quiet getaway

Had a quiet getaway on the river. Terry’s cottage is a hideaway to disconnect from a busy life. We enjoyed relaxing on the dock and in the hammock over a few days. Looking forward to staying here again.

Finaly able to book this propeery

After 4 years of renting thru vrbo this property was available. It was everything we had been waiting for. Attention to detail was amazing. From the dock cleats on drawer handles to the port hole window in the bath. Felt as if we couldve stayed forever. The sunrise/sunset views are amazing. The property owner msTerry was helpful and really made us feel"at home". Kayaks crab pots and an awesome dock to fish from. What else could you ask for!! We will definitely be back.

Magical

This cottage is a true gem! The best outfitted STR I have ever stayed in, from a kitchen well equipped enough to cook any dinner, to thoughtful extras such as a hammock, crap pots and fishing pole, beaches chairs and towels, and plastic wine glasses! All you need to do is unpack and start enjoying the breeze and view.

A Beautiful and Relaxing Retreat

Charming Cottage with Fabulous Views!

Our family of four enjoyed a long weekend in this charming cottage. The screened in porch, deck, and dock provided lovely and peaceful water views, and the kayaks were an added bonus! We had everything we needed for meal prep, but also enjoyed exploring restaurants in New Bern. It was a perfect place for us to celebrate Dads and Grads.

Cozy and Memorable!!

We were so disappointed when we had to leave the cottage! We had such a relaxing, wonderful stay at Call My Bluff - complete with crab stew, beautiful photos, and perfect sunsets by the dock. Our children loved the ship-themed decor. They said it felt like something straight out of a book! We loved that the kayaks were available any time we wanted to go out, and we enjoyed playing card games on the dock. Everything we needed was provided to enjoy our stay: including extra fluffy blankets, nice towels, kitchen supplies, hair dryer, iron, and some basic cooking ingredients. We were able to catch many crabs at the dock (using the provided crab pots). The ferry is located about 2 minutes away from the cottage, and conveniently provided a ride to Havelock. From there, we drove to the Atlantic and Fort Macon beaches, where we could swim in calm water and relax on the sand. Fort Macon provided a clean bathroom and shower. Beaufort was a small town with relaxing shopping stores. On our return to the Ferry, we really enjoyed the Mexican restaurants. Mexican food from the Plaza Mexico Bar and Grill in Morehead City was authentic and very good quality. We also highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich from Rick's N.C BBQ in Oriental. It was the best pulled pork we have ever tasted!! The owner, Rick, was very generous and kind. Overall, our stay at Call My Bluff cottage was so enjoyable, cozy, and memorable!
