"The staff is great! It was a wonderful stay close to so many places; coffee, caña and chocolate tour; sloth tour. Town is very close and close to so many authentic restaurants. Just bring your own shampoos. "

Orlando was the best host, so warm and accommodating, making sure every detail of my stay was perfect. The hot springs were incredibly relaxing and a highlight of the experience. "I can't say enough for what a great time we had at Kakao Lodge. I was skeptical at first since I usually like staying in my chain hotels that provide all the normal American comforts. But after staying here, my mind has totally changed. You can't describe how awesome it is to be able to see a half dozen different species of exotic frogs at night, or a sloth while eating breakfast, or tropic birds singing to you in the morning. Had a cozy night in one of the loft cabins.This area of Costa Rica has cooler weather, so you don't have to worry about being too hot. There's a full kitchen and dining area, a giant bathroom with great hot water, and two beds with their own TVs (it's like a having your own two-bedroom apartment!) The owner, Heylin, was extremely friendly and helpful when we arrived. The internet was super fast.
