Summary:
Enjoy the charm that Spruce Cottage brings to the quaint town of Aptos. We are a short 10 min walk to Seacliff State Beach through a secret pathway. View the landmark S. S. Palo Alto cement ship, picnic on the beach, or dip in the ocean. Our cottage offers comfort with a beachy feel. We take great care in the comfort and safety of our guests. Our home is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each guest. We look forward to hosting you!

The Space:
Enjoy our State Park/Beach Pass during your stay. Visit the Elephant Seals at Ano Nuevo State Beach. The well-landscaped backyard is a perfect place to bbq and relax.

The house is well equipped with everything that you will need to have a comfortable home away from home. Sleep well on either one of the king-sized Tuft and Needle adaptive foam mattresses. In the living room, you will find a Roku 4K UHD TV so you can catch up on all your favorite Netflix or Amazon shows. There are many apps to choose from for your viewing pleasure. The kitchen is fully loaded with cooking supplies so you can enjoy making a delicious home-cooked meal. Please note that there isn't a dishwasher in the house. It is listed in our amenities section and we cannot remove it.

We have a State Park pass that you are welcome to enjoy while you are visiting. There are several state beaches and state parks to enjoy and explore. From beach enjoyment to hiking. Your choices are endless. There is a $120 charge if the pass is not returned. This is so we can continue to offer it to our guests. Thank you!

The Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary beckons with sea life and adventures. You can join a whale watching cruise, rent a stand-up-paddle board or kayak, or take a surfing class...all nearby.

Trails for hiking and mountain biking surround the area, including Nisene Marks State Park.

Stroll through nearby Aptos village to enjoy dining and shopping a short drive away. Enjoy wonderful dining experiences at nearby restaurants such as Manuelā€™s Mexican Restaurant, and Cafe Sparrow in downtown Aptos. Treat yourself to dessert at Marianneā€™s Ice Cream! You can visit local wineries, and enjoy a scenic drive down the coast. Montereyā€™s Cannery Row and Monterey Bay Aquarium are 36 miles away, and Carmel is 39 miles. Take a trip through the 17-mile drive, then head back to the cottage for a backyard BBQ.

Whether you want to explore and adventure, dine and shop, or simply relax in a quiet beach-town getaway, Spruce Cottage offers the ideal site from which to enjoy it.

Guest Access:
The house is yours to enjoy. We have a State Park pass that you are welcome to use while you are visiting. There are several state beaches and state parks to enjoy and explore.

The Neighborhood:
Spruce Cottage is in the quaint town of Aptos, in the beach community of Seacliff. Seacliff State Beach is a 10-minute walk through a secret pathway. See the landmark S.S. Palo Alto cement ship and elephant seals at Nuevo Ano State Beach.

Other Things to Note:
The third bedroom is accessed via the master bedroom. Therefore guests in that room would access the bathroom and main house through the master bedroom. The third bedroom also has a door to access the back yard, in addition to backyard access from the kitchen area.

Relaxing Beach Cottage

Spruce Beach Cottage is tucked away on a quiet little street, is very welcoming, and comfortable. While it is not on the beach it is wonderful how close and accessible Seacliff Beach is from the cottage. We really appreciated the beach chairs that were provided for use as well as beach towels should you need them. The cottage is well stocked with kitchen appliances/utensils and you basic needs for coffee, tea, and spices. The bathroom has all you need also. The beds are comfortable. Roku TV and wifi kept the teens happy when we were not out and about. There was easy access to everything from the cottage. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back!

This place was in the perfect location. It was close to all of our necessities and some great places to eat. Only an 20 min to Santa Cruz and less than an hour from Monterey. Beautiful neighborhood and quiet!!!

Perfect little beach cottage

Perfect little place for 4 or 5 people. Short walk to the beach, very close walk/drive to downtown area. Lots of tourist activities within 30 min drive. The cottage was very clean and in a quiet neighborhood. Neighbors were very friendly. Small fenced in backyard but perfect for a little hang out.

Adorable

This house is adorable, clean and close to everything. We would absolutely stay here again. It would be perfect with kids because the 3rd bedroom that is connected to one of the 2 masters, has a trundle bed and can sleep 2 kids. Highly recommend. Just book it.

Amazing

I stayed here with my bridesmaids for my wedding weekend last week and the house was perfect. All the girls loved how quaint / cute it was and the place was spotless / so clean. Neighborhood was quiet and location was great. Communication was seamless. No complaints - would definitely recommend and itā€™s a great price !

Great location, quiet street

This was our first time back in the Santa Cruz area in 3 years and we lucked out with this place! It had plenty of space for our family of 5 and our teenager loved having his own King sized bed to sleep in! Check in was easy, kitchen was stocked with dishes, utensils, and everything else needed to cook dinners. We would definitely stay again, thank you!

Lovely getaway spot

My family and I had a very nice weekend at Janieceā€™s cottage. The space was perfect for the 5 of us (including toddler). Everything is clean, well kept and comfortable. The location is great and my kids enjoyed the little yard space. I wish I would have known that the house has a pack nā€™ play and beach towels as I wouldnā€™t have brought our own. Also keep in mind that the curtains in the bedrooms are all white and thin so expect the sun to wake you. The kitchen could use another pan or two and considering there is no dishwasher it would be nice if dish gloves were provided. Overall we had a very comfortable stay and would definitely visit again!

Clean and well laid out, close to Seacliffe Beach

We would recommend staying here. Itā€™s perfect for a couple or family with kids. You can walk to the town and across the train tracks to the path down to the beach. The back emotion gets cold. You have literally everything you need and the hosts are very responsive.

My parents, kids and I just spent the weekend at the Spruce Beach Cottage. The house is super clean, nicely decorated with comfy beds and quality sheets and towels. Walk to the beach was a bit further than we anticipated, but overall a great weekend get-away!

Adorable house and close to the beach!

This house was perfect for our stay! We wanted a place to be close to the beach and stay with our 7 month old without worrying about Covid! This was the perfect stay. I would 10/10 stay here again. The rooms were clean, the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook a nice dinner, and even the TV was logged into good streaming services!
