Quit old inn, air condition is old too, the location is OK, near the river, excellent view when you walk along the river. No breakfask or you have to pay for it.

fair....

Felt like an inconvenience, awaken by the owner's screaming child very early in the morning, major dust bunnies under the bed, bathroom was just fair with a door that did not close, a 13" tv, a barely working microwave, a very hard bed and the owner hadn't bothered to check her reservations from 2 days prior so she did not expect us. All in all, not overly impressed with the inn, although the kids liked it. Repairs were not made by maintenance prior to us arriving. I'm not typically one to complain, but it was not at all what I expected. I will not be returning.

A comfortable stay at the Dragonfly Inn

We felt very comfortable during our stay at the Dragonfly Inn. It was a very home-like atmosphere with the young couple that run the inn and their two children (and two cute dogs). There may be fancier places around, but the Dragonfly Inn fit our needs very well. And it's a great value. The inn is close to some great attractions, being within walking distance of the gardens and Fort Ann. If you are there on a summer Saturday, be sure to catch the farmer's market!

Beautiful - fantastic!

Gorgeous rooms, you can see how beautiful and unique they are on the website. Tastefully decorated, spacious with ensuite. Gorgeous home and hosts, lovely garden, fresh herbs, delicious home made breakfast with passion and love. Lovely location, walking distance to main street and water. Parking onsite. WIFI. Highly recommended. We were travelling with our 4 yo son so he slept in a separate part of the room and loved playing with Morgan in the morning.

Very Nice

I kinda felt I was interrupting their life style....it must be a big undertaking to run a business and have young children. Strollers near or on the porch, paint cans lying around. But super nice couple, they even gave us some homemade muffins to bring since we had to miss the breakfast part of the B&B. Kids were quiet and well behaved. Cute to. Very quiet !! and relaxing!!

Hotel in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia

My heart goes out to this couple who bought and are renovating an historic home with a carriage area that has been converted to3 or 4 ground floor bedsitting type motel rooms, some with & some without kitchenettes. Our hearts sank when they showed us our room-it was dark and had a strong musty smell, which did not go away with opening the windows nor turning on the air conditioner. We were given another room adjacent to the 1st one which smelled much better, no mustiness, but a slight odour of carpet cleaner or other deodorant. However there were some creepy crawly things in the bathroom area which we killed by stepping on them. Our host said they did not spray anything for odour in this 2nd room, because of the possibility of guests having allergies, but I doubt that he was correct. The beds were comfortable and the room seemed very clean, though the colour of the old couch and old bedspread did not invite us to use them-in fact we did not sit down, nor walk without slippers. The continental breakfast was simple, and we prepared it ourselves in a barn behind the hotel. The eating area was clean and primitive. There is evidence of much upgrading of the buildings being done. Our host is digging a drainage pipe to route the water away from the house, and needs to ventilate the space under the floor (this is necessary, but might not be possible) to get rid of the musty odour in the first room we were in. It is likely that the upstairs rooms (I think that there are 4) smell very fresh, but we did not see them-they were already occupied. This is a one star bed & breakfast at most. I do hope that with the changes happening that it will be much better.
