  • the Little Dipper is back for the 2025 season after a 2 year break! Newly renovated, be the first to enjoy the new couch, new bed, new mattresses, new floors, new paint, new bbq, outdoor lighting, fire pit, linens, movies, water toys, games ect. Lake front trendy tiny home located in Stardust Marina on beautiful Norris Lake! Private boat dock so bring your boat and jet ski's! Come enjoy true lake life living! Don't have one? No worries, Stardust Marina also offers boat rentals, as well as a restaurant with live music on Saturday nights and a gas station for water crafts. The Little Dipper has approximately 50 ft of lake frontage with direct land access on a beautiful lake front wooded setting. Plenty of room for a dog or the kids. Private driveway/parking. Lots of outdoor space perfect for entertaining. Double decks with gas grill, fire pit and hammock. Outside patio set for 4. Outdoor living room with couch and coffee table and 2 additional lounge chairs. The Little Dipper is just a 2 min boat or jet ski ride by water to Stardust Marina, by car 3 mins, and a 10 min walk. The Little Dipper is 15 mins to restaurants, shopping and the interstate. Sleeps 6 Downstairs has the master sleeping area with a queen size bed, wardrobe with closet rack and a 2 drawer dresser. There is also an upstairs loft that is the second sleeping area with a full size bed. Downstairs has a sleeper sofa that is full size. Please just please keep in mind it is a tiny home. There is also another lounge area for kids in a second upstairs loft. All games, cards, DVD's, corn hole ect is there ready for you to play! That loft is perfect for kids wanting to read a book, color, play on a tablet, board games or cards. In the storage shed there are floaties to enjoy on the water, inside the shed there is also a floor fan and a heater. The house has 2 wall ac units. It's always been plenty enough to keep the house cool after a day in the sun. Kitchen has fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster oven, counter top 2 burner electric stove, 2 NuWave precision induction cooktops. 1 with 2 copper pans and the other one with a stainless steel pot and steel steamer basket just for the Nuwave. It also has a toaster, kurig coffee maker, a 5 in 1 flat top mini griddle and dual grill(indoor smokeless) Full size residential size bathroom with full size shower and tub combo. Come enjoy swimming, boating, fishing right off the private boat dock, kayaking and more on beautiful Norris Lake.
    *This is true lake life living, there is no wifi and no cable. So come relax and enjoy lake life!

If it could be a 0 star, it would be. We booked this property at the beginning of May for Father's Day weekend. As someone who has rented vacation rentals, I know how many emails and notifications that get received to the owner prior to ones stay. I had not heard from the owner, all to find out apparently the 2025 renovations listed aren't even done and the property wasn't available. No apology whatsoever from the owner, just excuses. Keep in mind that we were leaving the next morning for this trip and had 8 hours to book a new place on one of the busier weekends of the year. Clearly I should have followed the ratings that left warnings of similar issues. If the owner could have been bothered to just email us in the first place and cancel the booking at the beginning, no harm, no foul. But instead she did nothing. This wasn't a huge ask, this was basic rental courtesy that takes 10 minutes out of someone's day. If you're going to book I would blow the owner up from the beginning so you're on the same page. I've never had an issue on VRBO as a renter or owner but this was a complete nightmare.

Great Location!

The location of the property was beautiful and the inside of the cabin was clean. The VRBO site was having some issues during check in, but Jennifer was very helpful & easy to get ahold of. The cabin is very well stocked with games and movies during times of rain. We had a wonderful weekend & will definitely be back.

Don’t even bother

We couldn’t even get in to the place and the host didn’t even communicate ahead or get back to us until a couple of hours later than check in time. By the time we heard back from the host we already booked another place. We received our money back but still it was not a good experience especially after driving a couple of hours.

Small but mighty

We arrived to a shower of orange,red, and yellow fall leaves faling on grounds and the water. The view was breath taking and deck was the place to be. For a small house it suppied all our needs with a great bathroom. When we woke up next morning we watched the fog roll gently across the lake for hours.

Small but worth it!☀️

I didn’t realize the property sits right next to the marina 😎. You could technically float to the marina if you wanted too 😂. The deck layout is nice, might need some more grips on the ramp part for the bigger guys lol. Also there are friendly turtles that hang by the deck. Good time for the Labor Day weekend. Second night me and my gal friend slept in the hammocks (one is there already) also hooks to put another if needed(3 total) Side note- I’m usually a snack for mosquitoes but I didn’t get bit once. We will be back! Thanks for having us! -Shelby from Cincy.

Great little spot!

We enjoyed our time at the Little Dipper. The only thing that could have been better was if the weather would have cooperated. But we had a few beautiful days that we spent on the dock and water. Thank you for letting us experience your little piece of heaven.

Wear a Toga

THE DOOR. If you are not Hulk Hogan or a Ninja, have fun with the door. We had high hopes for this “cozy cottage”, and thank goodness it was attached to a nice dock (saving grace). The “door” is not sealed so bugs were prevalent. The space also had an insane amount of dog hair/dander everywhere prior to our arrival. Oh, and the kitchen sink leaks, so the “hot plates” were rendered useless. The lake is beautiful and the dock (maybe annual power washing should be a thing) was great. If you enjoy enough beverages, all is good with the lake. The host was fast to respond with an initial concern. I was told that our reservation was almost canceled (but wasn’t , and there was no communication at all) after I drove for 7 hours. Great lake, great location, maybe hire an actual cleaning service?

Diamond in the rough

We stayed at The Little Dipper, what a beautiful spot on the lake. It is a little dipper of a place , but it offers everything you need. We truly enjoyed our stay. Jennifer was more than accommodating. She had a family emergency and was unable to make sure the place was ready. She showed the next day to drop off our needs and compensated us for the inconvenience. So much appreciated. She was great to work with. We rented a pontoon from Stardust and had dinner there as well. The crew was wonderful, atmosphere was relaxing and fun. We will definitely be back again!

LOVE THE Little Dipper!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief 3 night stay at the Little Dipper. Jen is fantastic to work with and communicates very well. She even offered to come and pick us up one day when we were having boat trouble. That is a sign of great people and you won't be disappointed renting from them. The place is small, but well laid out and thought out. The dock is great and only a few steps from the upper deck. Launching your boat at Stardust is free if you are staying there, which was nice. Driving a boat down to the marina is a little challenging, but we made it. We ended up pulling out at Anderson Co Park, so we didn't have to pull our boat/trailer up the big Stardust hill. Thanks Jen!!!

Absolute gem!

We have stayed at multiple places on Norris Lake and this was one of our overall favorite experiences. The tiny house is in a prime location close to marina with private dock. The outside decks are where we spent the majority of our time, although I did stray to read my book in the hammock overlooking the water. The use of space for this tiny home is maximized and very spacious given the square footage. I plan on booking this property again in the future and highly recommend!

Perfect Stay

Everything about the cottage was wonderful. Delightfully decorated. Jennifer thought of every last detail. The deck is so nice and great to just lounge the day away. We rented a pontoon from Stardust marina and kept it at the private dock. Super convenient.

Private & Relaxing

Jennifer was a great host. The location was perfect. Quiet, private, and relaxing. Everything you need is in the cabin. The Marina was very nice. The restaurant at the Marina was delicious! We did a grocery pick up heading into the property and it worked out great. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking over the fire.

Adorable little house!

I really enjoyed staying at this property with my dog! We took walks along the little roads that lead to the property and went kayaking on the lake. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch or hanging out inside while it was rainy! The property really has a lot of amenities for such a small space and was very cosy. The only issue we had was that I am very short and the house makes a lot of use of vertical space. I had difficulties reaching the latch for the storage shed or some things inside, but the next time I stay here I’ll remember to bring a step stool! It is not a shortcoming of the house at all (pun intended), but if you are short and plan to stay here you may want to keep that in mind! There really is very little in the way of cell signal out here; I have Verizon and was able to send texts but that was about it, which was absolutely perfect because I wanted to get away from the world for a bit! It really is just a perfect little house and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a lake vacation!

We had a cat and a dog and the loft area allowed them separate space it’s very private with beautiful views and just an absolute perfect getaway very clean lake and great fishing off the dock and the owners make sure you have any and everything you would need. We will be back

Tiny piece of paradise!

This was our second stay at the Little Dipper. We had a great time last time and we did this time as well. Beautiful peaceful place, we saw lots of turtles, herons, and even a Bald Eagle during our stay. Our grandkids spent an afternoon with us swimming off the dock. One concern- be very careful at the end of the steps down to the dock-the wrought iron portion has rusted away & is only partially mounted anymore- and it sways from side to side-grabbing onto it for balance could lead to a terrible fall. We did re-arrange some of the kitchen things as the weight on the shelves above the sink was causing them to slant forward, so we put more light weight stuff there and more heavy under the sink :) There are many special touches throughout this tiny house, great at making the most of the tiny space, great value as well, and the outdoor space is the best-that's where we spend our time! Also, there is plenty of parking right there at the tiny house-we park a full size truck there with a double jet ski trailer and still there was room for a visitor to park in front of our truck. We will certainly be back!

Nice Location

Property location is great. The unit is nice but getting to it and getting to the Stardust Marina with a boat trailer is not convenient. Going there on a weekend is a problem as there are cars parked everywhere. Be prepared for very steep hills at this location. Not a problem at the unit but the road in and out is challenging. I wished I had checked that out before staying. I've been to many other locations around Norris and rented houseboats there but this Marina location is not my favorite because of the access.

It has everything to relax and enjoy.

I really enjoy staying there. The views and the decks were great. Very peaceful and pretty. The dock was great. I would recommend a better ladder to get out if the water. The house was decorated so cute. It had absolutely everything you needed. Very thoughtful planning and use of space. The owners were very nice, accommodating and very quick to respond. I would definitely stay again.

It is a super cute place. Great location close to Stardust marina. Own dock fir floating or boat. Deck was so relaxing. Lots of great movies on a rainy night. Owner is great and super helpful. Great place... Suggestions. Add corner shelves in bedroom for glasses etc. And maybe a awning for outdoors to grill when raining. Overall a wonderful experience and place to stay. Would come back...

Norris Lake Getaway 05/13-05/17/2020

Jennifer was a spectacular hostess. The pictures really do not do justice to how beautiful the view is from the property. She was exceptionally accommodating, friendly, and timely with communication. The Little Dipper is located directly next to Stardust Marina, so the convenience of that was incredible. Mostly because we drove 10hrs from Milwaukee, so we wanted to keep driving to a minimum. The staff at Stardust we extremely friendly. We had planned to get a party pontoon for Thursday and Saturday, but Serena at the marina offered me $100 off to rent one for Friday as well. Southern hospitality was at it’s finest for the entire trip EXCEPT Archer’s grocery store. The cashier was extremely unpleasant to all four of us who checked out separately. We were in shock how someone could be rude to some polite folks from the Midwest that collectively spent about $50 at her grocery store! The husband and son in the meat area were extremely friendly though. Maybe the woman was just having a really bad morning, but it certainly made us boycott Archer’s for the rest of the trip. We took the pontoon to Bubba’s Brew’s on Thursday. I highly suggest it. It was a bit of a haul since the party pontoons are gigantic, and do not go very fast, but we’re glad we made the trip. You’re going to want to commit about 2hrs to get there, and 2hrs back. We went to Sugar Hollow Marina on Saturday since Shanghai Marina was too full to dock our boat. It was their first day open since the whole pandemic lockdown, but beware of the service. We ordered one drink and the whole procedure of getting it, getting our check, and getting our cards back took over an hour. Everyone looked new and lost. Our time on the water was precious, so we were pretty irritated. The food smelled good though! We grilled a lot at the Little Dipper. It was a perfect setup for grilling, and we do a lot of grilling where we are from. The patio was sensational. My three friends did not have cell service during the trip, but I did. My service provider is AT&T. I knew going into it that we would probably not have service, but I’m glad I did. Especially for navigation on the pontoon. It is a very big lake! Even with the paper map, we caught ourselves getting disoriented at times. I brought fishing gear, we bought live bait, bought fishing licenses, but didn’t really do any fishing. That is my biggest regret. Overall, we had a great time! Thank you Jennifer!

Amazing experience

The property is as described and has absolutely everything you need to enjoy your time on Norris. Jennifer was responsive, helpful, and understanding to my needs during our trip. Everything was perfect, I just wish i could stay longer. I will definitely be back at the little dipper:

Great view

The view from the Little Dipper and location were excellent! It was very convenient to have the marina so close. The only complaints would be that the air conditioner leaked all over the floor and ran to the front door. There were also many dirt paw prints from a muddy dog all over the front door and the glass was filthy. With paying a cleaning fee I would have expected it to be clean. Also the front door would not stay closed unless u locked the deadbolt. With that being said, the interior was clean and nicely decorated. For the most part we enjoyed our stay there. Property was very cosy.

Great home!

We absolutely loved staying at the Little Dipper... checking in was very easy. The place was clean and had everything we needed including grilling and cooking tools, cups, plates, utensils, etc. We rented a boat for a few days from Stardust Marina (10ish minute walk) and were able to keep it at our little dock. The deck was big and we spent a lot of time enjoying the views and peacefulness of the lake there. One of us had cell service (Verizon) but the other didn’t (Sprint) which was fine- we were able to truly unplug and relax! It was just my husband, myself and our dog and we were quite comfortable. Highly recommend to anyone looking to relax and get away! Thanks again!
