"My favorite place to stay in Amherst! You’re right on the village Green, a few blocks from the Dickinson Homestead, top-notch restaurant on site, wonderful Staff, great shower, comfy beds. We spent the evening chatting and reading by the fire in the communal living room. 10 out of 10."

"Excellent place to stay in Amherst, whether or not you’re visiting the university. Good food choices just an elevator ride away, plus many other choices at the other UMASS dining options. The breakfast is Continental plus waffles, and it features and non-gluten choices. The pastries are cut above what you expect from most hotels."

"My family and I stayed here while visiting family in Monson. It was very convenient and safe. We were greeted with smiling faces upon our arrival. The staff were very accommodating and such a joy to interact with. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The breakfast was served hot every morning with a variety of options for my hungry teens. The pool was great on a couple rainy days. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this particular location based on the staff alone....

"Price was very reasonable. It is a problem that there is most of the time no one in the office. Thus, it is really difficult to address issues, particularly in the evening. The TV went out in the evening, and we decided not to bother anyone. Bed was excellent. Location is quiet. Coffee in the office is great, but it would be better in the room. Suggest installing better clothes hanging capability in room. Overall, good value."

"The historic Inn is beautifully maintained and updated and provides a unique experience of staying in a home dating back to the 1600's. Breakfast was delicious and Megan the cook was welcoming and helpful. We always stay at the Black Walnut Inn when in Amherst!"

"The ice maker in our building didn’t work. No one mentioned that ahead of time. Also, the refrigerator wasn’t plugged in (I guess to save power). The staff was unhelpful."

"We only stayed for one night, but we found that the Inn exceeded our expectations. It was a beautiful historic site, and the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff were as expected from the other reviews of the property. I was traveling with my daughter who has celiac disease, and the Inn was able to provide her with a lovely GF option for breakfast that was as delightful as the rest of the offerings. True GF options while traveling are limited, so this experience was a gem."

"Our room was upstairs on the 2nd floor. My mom is 90 there was no elevator for her. That was brutal. There was something being built near parking area which looked unfinished. We had a balcony view which looked onto the parking area. There’s a hospital across the street and during the night we heard very loud helicopter noise overhead. I had requested no dairy for breakfast and my omelette had cheese in it. My sisters room was on the first floor which was next to the breakfast/eating area. She...

"Traveled here for a work trip, felt very safe as a woman alone. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Check in was also very easy! My room was very clean. Would highly recommend to any solo travelers!!"
