Sunset Apartment - Peaceful Country Setting - Hocking Hills State Parks

Located within reasonable distance to the Hocking Hills State Parks. This peaceful country setting is located on a small farm just outside the quaint little town of Tarlton. Surrounded by 16 acres.... over half of it is wooded with trails to explore. While here take time to breathe deeply of God's fresh country air and enjoy the opportunity to unwind from your daily pressures.
APARTMENT:
Sunset Apartment is located out in our barn on the far right. It has 2 bedrooms on the second floor, (with a staircase) one bedroom with a queen bed and one bedroom with a full bed. It will sleep 4 comfortably, but we do allow 5 people. It has 1 bathroom on the main floor with a tile shower. Just outside the bathroom is a washer and a dryer also a closet with a cot, folding chairs, games, magazines, and extra pillows and blankets. We provide towels and linens. There is a fully furnished kitchen a small table with 4 chairs, a bar with 2 stools. The living area has 1 couch. Complimentary coffee and a few snacks.
OUTDOORS:
Farm animals. (Miniature horses, cows at times, Snowball the cat) Backyard Patio with a fire pit and a removable grill. Playground area. Hammock and Dbl. lawn swing. Above ground pool during the summer months. Trails throughout the woods. Another fire pit back in our wooded area.
CELL SERVICE/TECHNOLOGY:
We have Spectrum phones which use Verizon towers - our phones do pretty well. There will be better cell service outside on the porch and in the back yard since it is a metal building. We have Starlink satellite which runs the smart TV (bring your own subscriptions) and a Samsung DVD player (bring your favorite DVDs) We do have a few family DVDs. We do encourage a break from technology to totally unwind.
ADDITIONAL:
Country Lane Lodging also offers another vacation apartment at this location that sleeps 5 with 2 beds. Sunrise Apartment is located above our 3-car garage. (google Sunrise Apt. Tarlton, OH - VRBO link)
LOCATION:
We are located 45 minutes southeast of Columbus, 20 minutes from Circleville the home of the Pumpkin Show, 25 minutes from Tecumseh (outdoor drama) and 15-20 minutes to Rock House one of the Hocking Hills State Parks. There is a IGA with fuel and groceries, a Dollar General with groceries and a few small diners in Tarlton just a few minutes from here. And plenty more to do to keep you busy for a number of days. Come enjoy Godā€™s beautiful creation!

This is a beautidul property about 30 minutes from Hocking Hills. It is quiet and secluded, whoch is great for a romantic get-away. Only 2 downfalls. 1. The bed is a little hard for my taste and 2. The internet commection is really bad, but we were getting away from the outside world, so that didn't bother us. The hosts are so kind and friendly. They allowed an early checkin and a delayed chexk-out. They alao had snacks and coffee waiting for us. I would choose this place again if we come back to visit Hockimg Hills.

The place was exactly as pictured. Property was beautiful. The host emailed maps and things to do in the area. I esp like the map that listed the length of the hikes so you could plan the day. The bedrooms were upstairs so if someone wants to stay up and watch TV it won't disturb the rest of the fam. Thank you for a great stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sunset Appartment. The beautiful and quiet location had everything we needed. And the place and vast grounds are spotlessly clean. We came to hike and unplug so the lack of cell service and internet wasnā€™t a big deal. Great memories were made on our mini spring break

This is our second time staying in this apartment. We love it. Clean and cozy, and a perfect location. We will stay again!Our only issue was that the mobile reception is non-existent (T-Mobile) and the wifi was set up strangely and therefore impractically slow. I don't remember this from last time.

Our experience in the Sunset Apartment was wonderful. Communication with our hosts was wonderful, and they graciously allowed us to use their fire pit as well. They have a beautiful property and if you get the opportunity to stay in one of their rentals, we highly recommend it!

The property itself is very nice. It is about 20-25 minutes to hocking hills. We loved the animals and apartment. The internet/wifi is non existent but we didnā€™t mind. Wish we had packed some heavier bedding. Would stay again.

Our Hosts Norma and Phil did a fantastic job communicating all important details and were available if anything was needed. The property was beautiful. The sunrises and sunsets were amazing, as was the fresh country air. The property has lots of room to walk and take in the beauty of the cows, ponies and Snowball the friendly cat. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed. The property is real close to a couple of local diners and a watering hole. We intent to come back soon.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights for our anniversary. The property was absolutely beautiful, the apartment immaculately clean! As mentioned in the listing you likely won't have service,we did have a little bit outside. There are mini horses that will come up to the fence to be petted and an adorable and sweet cat. The cows seem very interested though. The apartment was no e and quiet and very clean. We didn't care for the beds as we prefer soft beds and the beds were both quite firm. There are also no windows in the bedrooms which I found odd but nice and dark for sleeping. Overall the apartment was a great spot and fairly close to Hocking hills attractions.

The family is very friendly and allowed us to swim in their pool after hiking. It was a refreshing cool down. We enjoyed seeing the ponies, cows, and the kitty cat. In the evening we returned to make supper and play some games together. This was a nice change of pace for our girls getaway weekend.

This rental is very small. There is only a couch and a small dining table, but you would have to move the table out into the room for more than 2 people, taking up space. The shower is quite small, and dark -rainshower is not practical for rinsing shampoo out of thick hair. The beds were comfortable, but there are no windows, so it has a cave-like feeling. There is no central AC & there is only one wall unit in the upstairs landing, vented through the garage -I wondered about the air quality it was putting out. It was 88-94F while we were here so the AC unit had a hard time keeping up. The stairs are VERY STEEP. I almost fell down a couple of times, especially in the night since the bathroom is on the first floor. We have stairs in our house, but these are dangerous. Rubber treads on the wood steps might be a good idea. There is NO INTERNET or cell phone service; no TV. We got one phone to work for about 20 seconds, standing next to the refrigerator. Go to any town or tourist area with wifi. Overall this rental was very reasonably priced for the area, but you are 30-45 minutes away from everything you want to do such as all hiking trails and the State Park. We may not ever be in this area again, but we wouldnā€™t choose this rental, even for the price. The steep stairs and the lack of internet and cell service are a deal breaker. We are older (in our 70s) and need to be in touch with the outside world in case of trouble or emergency.

Such a nice, quiet get away for my oldest daughter and myself. Nothing but crickets chirping and millions of stars at night, beautiful song birds and a friendly cat in the mornings. We enjoyed walking with the horses and cows in the pasture. We will definitely stay here again.

Norma and Phil have a beautiful property. It is in drivable proximity of everything we wanted to explore. The place is well kept and clean! One downfall is wifi and phone data are almost non existant, so plan ahead for no way to communicate. But yes we would stay again!

This was a perfect spot for a family weekend getaway. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and serene. Itā€™s close to Hocking Hills where we wanted to hike so it worked out very nicely.
