Damp, musty smell in hallway. Our curtains were falling off the rails, and washbasin taps were very difficult to turn. Heating not adequate and towels not changed daily automatically. Helpful host and hostess with perfect delicious breakfast.

The property certainly has character but needs work to improve the quality eg the beds are pretty uncomfortable, there isn’t enough hot water and there is a problem with damp in some areas. Having said that, it seems to get a work in progress and the owners are hopefully addressing these issues. But, the owners are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is of a very high quality

Friendly and comfortable

Had a fabulous stay. We were made to feel very welcome and our son just loved playing in the big garden with the dogs. Breakfast was amazing too. Our only regret that we should have stayed more than one night!

Excellent stay

Very welcoming and considerate hosts who really try to think of everything. Room well provisioned. Wonderful range of home cooked breakfast options. Peaceful location.

Lovely, peaceful B&B

Lovely old house in a very peaceful location. Hosts were very welcoming and large bedroom and bathroom both well appointed. Delicious home -made shortbread in the room. Excellent breakfast too. Highly recommended.

Excellent breakfast. The only disappointment for us was no wifi signal in the bedroom and it took us a while to get used to the small tv with two handsets, but very comfortable bed. Very good hosts.

Luxurious chill out stay!!

The Manor House is a beautiful grade 11 listed building with lots of charm, hosts Ros and David are lovely, very friendly, Ros makes a great breakfast, most of which is locally sourced and condiments made by Ros herself!!.. The bedrooms all 3 of them are big have an en suite, king size bed and beautiful crisp white cotton sheets,extremely clean, with a nice welcome of wine, water and shortbread biscuits, and a good selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The dining room is huge , tastefully decorated with period furniture. There was a welcoming roaring log fire too, which made it feel very cosy. Chatton village is just down the road, but its quite a walk, I would say its best by car , as there are no pavements on either side. But its a great place to explore Bamburgh, Wooler,Sea Houses etc..We took our dog with us, Ros and David have 2 dogs, we heard them , but didn't see them in the Manor. They welcomed our dog being there and made a fuss of him, as did some other guests too..I would recommend this place 100% and we hope to visit again soon..

Quiet country stay

The Manor house is in a beautiful location and is a pretty house full of character. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were outstanding and well presented and the preserves all home made. The room was spacious and comfortable.

House In The Country For Upmarket B&B Awaydays

Very rural, so not convenient for walking out for your evening drink or meal. Superb room; great king-size bed and huge en-suite, but dodgy rural plumbing. Great breakfast (with vegetarian options) and friendly owners. Wi-fi available but very weak, and no mobile phone signal at all. if you want to go off the grid, then this is the place for you.

Lovely quiet, charming and friendly b&b

Lovely breakfast (have the cheese and ham!) set in a lovely house. You sit at a large table and so with other guests which I really enjoy. Very quiet location and the owners make you feel very welcome. I wish I had realised there was a castle across the road as didn't have time with the schedule to go. Nice large room, which was spotless with a huge bed! It's an old property so understandably we didn't have a shower but the bath again was large. We had a 6 year old with us and he was made to feel very welcome by the owners. They even had games and books readily available. Thoroughly recommend

Paradise Found.

This place is the nearest thing to Paradise that I know. The house is fantastic, with the most beautiful furnishings and décor. The owner, Robert, is a pure gem. He strikes the correct balance between making one feel part of the family and giving one their own space. The welcoming coffee and home-made cake, served in the lounge on arrival, was a really lovely touch. The rooms were perfect and the King-size bed sublime - perfect for a great night's sleep after walking the Borders. Then, for breakfast, such good provenence and exquisitely cooked. Without doubt, this is the best B&B we have ever stayed in. A real jewel in the Borders. Who wants to stay in Berwick when this Eutopia is just on the doorstep? There is nowhere else in Northumberland or the Scottish Border counties where we would prefer to stay.
