My wife and I arrived on a flight in Ankara at 11:00 pm and had our next flight to Rize early the next morning. We had to get up at 4:00 am, and we were planning to sleep at the airport for those few hours, but for comfort, we decided to rent a hotel room for a short time. However, the night at the hotel was a disaster. We arrived late, and the hotel room was stuffy hot due to the air conditioner heating system. We turned off the heating thinking that it would be enough, but around 2:00 am it was unbearably hot. We decided to turn on the air conditioning, but it wasn't working. I called reception, and they told me they couldn't do anything and that we would have to wait until 8:30 am when the maintenance staff arrived to fix it. We couldn't sleep for the rest of the remaining hours because, in addition, we could hear the noise of the cars from the highway leading to the airport. Finally, we decided to use the shower to get ready to go to the airport, but the shower drain was clogged, and the water wouldn't drain.
It is irresponsible of the hotel not to carry out a prior inspection before handing over a room to a customer and to expect a guest to go through such a bad experience and be the one to report the problems with the room. I demand a refund because, with such a terrible experience, it would have been better to stay those few hours at the airport.
