The Chittleborough on Sussex St Glenelg Beach

Our place is located in the heart of Glenelg, just off Jetty Road and 2 minutes walk from the beach and the tram. You`ll love all the great restaurants and dining on the doorstep, and lots of family-friendly activities nearby. You’ll love our place because of the location and the ambiance. Our place is good for couples, business travellers, families (with kids), and big groups which can be accommodated in adjacent properties.

Bedroom 2: 1 king or 2 singles
A fold out bed can be supplied for 1 additional guest (ideally suited for a child) by prior arrangement (charges apply).

Off street parking for 1 small car

Guests have sole occupancy of the property.

Family friendly neighbourhood with easy access for a day at the beach, walk, scooter or ride along the beach Esplanade, or just pop out to one of the great cafes or retail shops in the area.

You have access to 1 off street car park at the property. The tram is very close by and goes direct into the City; there are also many buses that service Glenelg and are easily accessible from the property.

The property is located in the heart of Glenelg on Sussex Street, where you can park your car and walk to everything you will need during your stay. Sussex Street is predominately a residential street. Glenelg can get very busy during the summer months, so there can be some noise with pedestrians, mainly on Friday and Saturday nights, walking back to their cars/homes at closing time. Part of the charm of staying in the thick of it, but not nearly as noisy as some accommodation in Glenelg, such as those located on Colley Terrace or the Esplanade.
- By booking with us, you agree to the following: *Check-in time*: Check-in is from 3pm. Please note: we make every effort to ensure properties are prepared for check-in by 3pm. However, on occasion exiting guests fail to comply with the requirement to check-out by 10am. Where this occurs, as a matter of practical reality we may need to delay the check-in time to properly prepare the property after the late check-out. *After Hours check-in*: Our phones are turned off after 9pm. If you think you may be arriving after 9pm, you must notify us in advance so we can make arrangements to be available after hours. Unless you have arranged for a late check-in, we will not be responsible if you have difficulties checking in after 9pm. *Check-out time*: Strictly by 10am on the day of check-out (this is the date listed on your Booking Form). Charges for late check-out apply. *After Hours Availability*: Our office operates from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday. In addition, we are contactable for emergencies and check-ins on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 9am to 9pm and on weekdays from 6pm to 9pm. *Luggage*: As we do not have a physical reception, we are not able to store luggage for you prior to your check-in time or after check-out. *Email correspondence*: If you have provided an email address as part of booking a property, you are deemed to have received any email sent by us to that address. Sending an email to that address is deemed proper notice by us. *Parking*: Each property has 1 car park ideal for a small-medium sized vehicle. Please let us know if you have a large vehicle at the time of booking. *Cleaning*: The listed price does not include servicing/cleaning during the stay. We can arrange servicing and fresh linen during the stay at a cost to guests of $130 per clean. *Damage*: You authorise us to recover from you any loss we incur as a consequence of damage caused by you or your guests to the property or the furnishings in it. If you have provided credit card details to us, you authorise us to deduct up to $1,000 from your credit card for this purpose. *Parties*: Guests are ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED FROM HOLDING ANY TYPE OF PARTY, OR GATHERING, IN THE PROPERTY, EVEN A SMALL PARTY OR GATHERING is not permitted. If you are in doubt, please speak to use prior to making a booking. You agree that, if you hold any type of party or gathering in the property: (1) you will immediately be evicted from the property without any entitlement to any refund of any amount paid in respect of your accommodation, including for any period after the date of your eviction; (2) you authorise us to immediately deduct up to $1,000 from any credit card the details of which you have provided to us for the purposes of deducting any other amount in respect of your accommodation; (3) you will not take any steps to challenge the deduction referred to in number (2) above via the issuer of the card. *Consideration of other tenants*: In consideration of other tenants, you must not make excessive noise in the property or public areas. *Utilities*: Utilities are included in the rental rate. However, you must ensure that all lights, air-conditioners and heaters are turned off when you are not in the apartment. A fair use policy of 21kwh per day applies to electricity; this is ample for day to day usage, however, it may be exceeded if electrical devices are left on when the property is empty, or if appliances are not used efficiently e.g. air conditioners on while windows or doors are left open. *Internet access*: WIFI is provided free in The Chittleborough. Internet in the property is suitable for web browsing, emails etc; however, it is not suitable for multiple devices streaming video. Limits for Internet usage apply, so please ensure you disable automatic downloads for Windows, Microsoft, etc. Do not leave the Internet connected while you are not using your computer. Be careful - If you have ever previously used your computer to download movies via a Bit Torrent program, the program may activate while you are connected to the Internet (even if you are not aware that it is active) allowing others to download from your computer. This could cause you to exceed the download limits. If, for any reason, we are unable to supply Internet, e.g. for a technical reason to do with the provider who supplies Internet to us, or due to a fault with our equipment, we will do everything we can to provide you with Internet access as quickly as we can. However, will not be liable for any loss you incur as a consequence of not being connected. You will not be entitled to any refund of your booking fee as a consequence of not having Internet during your stay. *Property becomes not available*: In the very unlikely event a property you have booked becomes unavailable (due to an unforeseeable event damaging the property, e.g. the carpets need to be replaced due to water damage etc.), we will take every step to provide you with another property of at least the same standard. We will not be liable if a property becomes unavailable for some reason, or if we are not able to provide a suitable alternative. You accept that there could be an unforeseeable event out of our control that may make a property unavailable. *Cleaning*: You must leave the apartment in a clean and tidy condition. Failure to do so may result in an additional cleaning fee. *Smoking*: Smoking is not permitted in the property. If you smoke in the property, you authorise us to deduct from your credit card or otherwise recover from you, $75 to apply towards having the furnishings deodorised. *Access*: You agree that, although unlikely, we may need to access the apartment from time to time and this may be necessary during your stay, e.g. to attend to repairs (if necessary). You agree that we may provide your mobile telephone number so that a tradesperson needing to access the apartment can arrange access with you directly. *Repairs, state of apartment etc*: We will endeavour to ensure that all appliances etc. in the property are working properly, there is not damage to the property and that the property is clean at check-in. If you notify us of a faulty appliance or that the property is not clean at check-in, we will take all reasonable steps to have the fault corrected as soon as possible. Where you notify us after hours, we will endeavour to have the fault corrected as soon as possible on the recommencement of business hours. The existence of a faulty appliance or another issue with the property will not entitle you to any discount on the booking fee. *Acts of god*: If the property is made unavailable as a consequence of an act of god, eg, a flood, you will not be entitled to a refund of your booking fee. You should ensure you are covered for this by your travel insurance. *Don’t leave valuables in the property*: Please don’t leave valuables in the property and please ensure the property is secured at all times. Our insurance only covers the house contents of the property, and does not cover your personal items. Our insurance is only valid in the case of a break and enter; therefore, if you leave the property unsecured and theft occurs, you will be liable for the replacement value of any items stolen. We will not be liable for any loss you incur as a consequence of someone stealing your valuables from your property. *Don’t leave valuables in your car*: Please don’t leave valuables in your car. We do not control the car park, and will not be liable for any loss you incur as a consequence of your car being broken into. *Extra beds*: Where we provide an extra bed, depending on which property you are in, it will be a foldaway bed. It will not be the same as the other beds. *Telephones*: We do not provide telephones in our properties. Please keep this in mind if you will be travelling without a phone. *Furnishings*: We upgrade our furniture in each of our properties on an ongoing basis; therefore the furnishings may be different to those shown in the pictures for this property.

The Chittleborough was an amazing place to stay. It was clean, and suited our needs as a family of four. Due to local works there were roadworks going on until early hours of the morning on several nights which disturbed the otherwise peaceful rest. Costa the owner came very promptly when the door code would not work. Overall a great place to stay - very close to amenities and the beach and hopefully when the local regeneration works are done the trams and transport will be running.

We truly enjoyed staying here. We were pleasantly surprised at the excellent location and spaciousness of this wonderful property - photos don't do it justice! I especially loved the high ceilings, wooden floors and original features of the old Villa, and nothing was lacking in the tastefully upgraded kitchen. The host was responsive and helpful. Highly recommended.

Great property and location

This propoerty is delightful: a renovated early 20th century cottage in the heart of Glenelg with heaps of character and all the mod cons. Particularly good is the central A/C which is unobtrusive and very welcome in the Adelaide summer. Accommodation was ideal for our group of two couples, but both bedrooms can be converted from douible to twin if need be. The large kitchen/living area is well appointed with a large dining table and all cooking facilities, including basic pantry supplies. Athough there is only one bathroom it is equipped with washing facilities as well. There is a parking place on site although getting to it is a little tortuous. Withthe great public trasnport avaible almost at the door we used the car only for trips out of town. The only negatives is there is little outdoor space - a small patio in the front and a bit of street noise in the front bedroom. Communication with our host Costa was great. Special mention ot the Zest cafe across the road that supplies a great morning brew and a delicious full breakfast if required. The cop shop is also across the road so it never gets too rowdy!
