The Space:
Churinga Orchards by Tiny Away sits in the rural village of Lenswood, just 42 minutes from Adelaide. Our farm stay getaway offers a quiet retreat among apple orchards and a tranquil dam.
The farm stay is located near the culinary gems of Yuki in the Hills, Comida Hahndorf, the vineyards of Hahndorf Hill Winery. Perfect for exploring nearby Mount Barker and the wildlife at Warrawong Sanctuary, or taking a scenic trip to historic Strathalbyn while staying at our holiday homes.
A comfortable 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the tiny home and its surrounding area including the space around the dam.
ADVISORY:
- Please avoid entering the orchard if machinery or workers are present, stay away from pump sheds and chemical storage areas, and always follow designated tracks for safety.

Stroll through the historic buildings, cafes, and restaurants of Mount Barker which is also a popular spot when visiting the Great Southern region, Porongurups or Stirling Ranges. Strathalbyn is perfect for travelers who appreciate historic and picturesque architecture and gardens. Discover Australia’s diverse native wildlife like koalas, kangaroos, and platypuses in their natural habitat at Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary.
Getting Around:
By Car:
- Adelaide to Lenswood: Approximately 30 km, around a 40-minute drive.
By Public Transport:
- Train: Take the train to Mount Barker.
- Bus: From Mount Barker, use the bus services heading to Lobethal or Woodside.
- Taxi: Taxi services, such as Mt Barker Taxi, are available from Mount Barker to complete the journey to Lenswood.
By Flight:
- For those flying in, Adelaide Airport is the nearest airport, about a 50-minute drive from Lenswood.
Other Things to Note:
- Wifi is not available
- Smoking is allowed on the property
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Mobile reception is good fro Telstra; others have weak signals
- Secure windows and doors when leaving the tiny house or property.
- Turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics when leaving. (e.g., especially chargers)
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Expect potential noise from orchard activities, such as tractor work, mowing, spraying, and occasional bird-scare equipment.
Important note:
- BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
