"We booked based on reviews and realized THAT was a mistake. First & foremost-the staff was very nice, as all Minnesotans are. That was the good; now the realistic.The property is OLD and rundown. The carpeting is worn and dirty and I don't really want to think about the dirt in there ( bring slippers or socks to wear and burn them directly after the visit). "Self check in/out made the process simple! The room was large and had a great air conditioning window unit. The walk from downtown Stillwater was around 10 minutes and it was nice to be removed from all the bars/noise."

"We arrived to the property to discover that we were on the third floor and the elevator was not functioning pending an inspection. This is a very dated property and the owners have slapped a lot of paint around in an effort to disguise it's advanced age. There were new(er) laminate floors in the rooms and some nice tile in the restrooms, but these even had drops of paint on them, showing a lack of care in "slopping" "lipstick on the pig." "I liked that although it is a dog-friendly hotel, it didn’t appear or smell like dogs were in the hotel. The staff was kind, just found that the night manager wasn’t familiar with the check in process. The breakfast included was a good thing for each morning. The only issue was that the coffee made by an employee was so concentrated and had a lot of coffee grounds in it, which made it incredibly hard to drink and enjoy."

"This is a lovely property in the heart of Stillwater. The reason we will not return is that the street noise from “hot rodding” motorcycles , trucks and cars cruising the main drag starts in early evening and continues into early morning hours. (We know this after 5 years of annual stays ). The noise is worst in the highest priced rooms that face the street. Dining on the patio in front of the hotel requires one to shout to be heard by others at your table😳. Not worth it."

"This hotel saved us from a god awful hotel we had booked prior. Staff was great, I booked it and within 20 minutes was in the lobby and they were ready for us and it was seamless. Staff was friendly, maid service was excellent. We even accidentally left some items out that should have been in the safe, but our room was cleaned up and nothing was taken. It was also very quiet. Beds were comfortable. Shower water pressure was amazing. We were very happy with our stay."
