"We enjoyed our stay but the hotel is old. The room had a musty smell, the bath tub had rust spots and black marks. The bathroom was dated and there wasn’t a handheld sprayer in the shower which is nice if you’re a woman. To access the balcony (we had an oceanfront room), you have to open an exterior door and step over a tall threshold. For the price of the room I did expect something a little nicer. "

"Convinient and clean. Lcoation was good. Access to beach directly from the hotel for a great sunrise view was a plus point. Room was too small for a family of 4. Not enough space to move around. Bathroom was aso too tight. Breakfast options were okay. Overall good for teh price in off season. "

"This hotel is a great value. The room was spotless. Check in was a little interesting, a note in the lobby said to call a phone number for check in. The first attempt to call went to voicemail. But about 5 minutes later I was able to get a hold of someone and check in. I’ve stayed here for years, I hope this place can stay as good as it was in the past, even if I had to pay 20% more I would to keep this place as an option. "

"Cozy vintage beach cottage. Easy access to beach, quiet. Perfect for offseason getaway for a few days. People have been coming back to these cottages for decades for good reason. We loved the kitchen with full size appliances and lots of space. Pack your groceries and cook all your meals here, the cottage was perfect for a family of 4. Comfortable beds in two bedrooms. Nice living room/dining room. We spent four nights and were not disappointed. "

"Seems strange but the property was all but empty, off season, yet the room above us was booked with noisy guests and we were put in a room with a parking lot view when better views were available. Upgrading rooms…good thing but was not a bother to us. Some upgrades were done in our condo which were very nice!"

"For those looking for a quiet and peaceful place to stay, this is a perfect choice. The owners of the property are very kind and welcoming. "Unfortunately, our room was not up to our standards. The bathrooms were not fully cleaned and the air conditioning went out twice. The day we came in (July 20, 2023), the upstairs units were 78 degrees and blowing warm air. Maintenance was called and showed up. We were told that it was repaired. It took several hours for those units to cool down. Because check in is 4:00, it took hours for these rooms to cool down to make sleeping comfortable. "Great stay at Roanoke Island Inn! Service was amazing and loved that they give you complimentary water bottles and snacks/beverages to make the stay that much nicer.
