"When we entered the apartment it was so cold and took all night for the heat to warm up. It was not a pleasent first impression. "This is a lovely cottage and the location is great. We had a fantastic stay in Windermere. However, be aware that the street parking is only for an hour and so a paid carpark is needed, not free parking as advertised. I messaged Sykes Cottages about this issue twice and received no response so communication was unfortunately a problem. The cottage was also in the process of being cleaned when we arrived, despite this being after the check-in time."

"We had a wonderful stay at Hazeldene, we had a room with a view, Exceptionally clean room with a comfortable bed and nice pillows. Chris & Victoria are amazing hosts very attentive. Breakfast was delicious cooked fresh every morning, fresh orange juice, fresh coffee and toast. We parked the car around the back, as they have a number of spaces, we didnt use the car after, as we travelled by bus everwhere. We loved our stay in bowness, and would definitely go back again 👌 "

"Extremely friendly staff, made us feel very welcome! Lovely spacious room & really good shower, nice big comfortable bed & peaceful stay, big private balcony, breakfast was amazing!! Not a problem but room & balcony could do with a little updating & bbc channels didn't work properly due to signal but we had a lovely stay. Very close to village & lake, excellent location & would definitely stay again if we are in Windermere"

"It was a clean and convenient property for visiting Windermere. But the room was very small, smaller than I expected it to be. Also, a major problem was that the room was far too hot. The radiator in the bathroom one could not turn off at all and, although I managed to turn off the radiator in the bedroom, it was still very hot in the property. But our host was helpful and welcoming, and the location was perfect for us."
