"All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our kids enjoyed the evening activities. Family tent waa the perfect size for the 4 of us. We definitely plan on staying at another under canvas property!"

"Rooms are quite nice. Owners are very friendly. Price is right. Decent wine and beer is available for purchase. Two issues: 1) no hair conditioner or lotion in room 2) no daily room service which not a problem but when you have a guest staying 3 nights and only provide 2 wash clothes for a couple is a problem. We strangely got 4 towels but only 2 wash clothes. A person is dirty when washing so more wash clothes would be needed as apposed to towels. "

"Sylvan Lake Lodge sits above the lake in a quiet area in Custer State Park. Our room had a good queen bed and small bathroom. There was a table and 2 chairs. The lodge had a great sitting area with alot of chairs/sofas. The dining room had excellent dinners (walleye/vegies for my husband and a steak for me). Breakfasts were also good w/ eggs, bacon/sausage and pancakes."

"Quaint property…free paddle boarding at the lake for registered guests. Gathered around a fire pit with others staying in nearby rooms to chat. Cute place."

I thought we were heading to a single story easy access vacation home in the hills, and what we rented was a house with a walk up basement with a very steep and narrow staircase, the outside stairs to the front door, had no railing making it super difficult for my elderly family member to maneuver. "The cleanliness of the House and the amenities it had to offer were awesome. Will definitely stay again!"

"Quiet, comfortable hotel. One thing I didn't realize about residential hotels is that most of the guests are there for an extended period of time so in general they will be quieter than guests at other hotels. In addition, there will be fewer children around. Excellent breakfast every morning in a clean breakfast room."

"Why not stay the night in a cute little cabin with a wide porch in the woods instead of a standard hotel? The staff is super nice and helpful, and our room is clean and comfortable. We had a picnic on the porch after our tour of Mount Rushmore which is only 4 miles away. Highly recommended!"
