Kathy, at check-in, was super nice and friendly. We stayed in a small cabin while other family members stayed in a couple rooms in the lodge.
Our cabin was very cute and suited 3 people just fine, although my 17 year old slept on the sofa. We never made it into the hide-a-bed. The bed was fairly comfortable. The kitchen is functional with a full fridge. We did not try out our private hot tub.
The location is good (not the BEST in town, but good). There is a nice path and footbridge that takes you to town. We walked into town for meals and ice cream every day… it’s only a 10 minute walk or so and the bridge over the river is breathtakingly beautiful.
My reasons for 4 stars (instead of 5) are as follows:
1: The steps to the cabin are getting a bit rickety and could probably use some repair (but still functional).
2. Minimal housekeeping (common since the pandemic, I know). But we had no way to replace the garbage bag when it was full… just had to wait until the following day after asking. It would be nice if there were extra bags under the sink. There was a vacuum but a broom and dustpan would also be nice.
3. No dishwasher
4. Old dish sponges under the sink. I feel strongly that there should be a brand new sponge for each new guest. Using someone’s old dish sponge feels really gross.
5. Limited space to put stuff, and no suitcase stand(s) for easy access to your clothes. My parents room in the lodge had no closet.
Very good but could be better.
Would stay again.
