Great place to stay!
Publicado em 25 de set de 2019 na HotelsWe stayed in the Bayview room for 3 nights and enjoyed our time there, but it may not be the perfect room for everyone. The balcony offers a view of the Salish Sea and is perfect for watching the sun rise. The bed and room were quite comfortable, and although there is a large armoire for hanging clothes there are no drawers so you will have to keep most things in your suitcases. The bathroom is roomy with a pedestal sink but little surface area for toothbrushes or makeup, and it has a clear glass sliding door so the toilet is visible from the bed. The house has a shared kitchen and dining room with all the cooking and eating utensils you might need, and Marg will cook breakfast for a modest charge. There are 4 other rooms available, each with different amenities and views, and Marg is an excellent hostess with lots of suggestions about touring the area so I would recommend the Lodge if you are looking for a spot on that part of Vancouver Island.

Marg could not have been more accommodating, and the setting is just perfect, if we were ever to be in this part of the world again, it would definitely be out choice of destination

Ocean view but make sure you don't leave early
Publicado em 1 de ago de 2017 na HotelsI had booked on line for a few nights but the day we got there we had a family emergency beyond our control and we could only stay for one night. The owner was not happy about this and "made sure we knew that she was going to lose money because of us cancelling". If she would have known she could have had that room booked with someone else that was going to stay longer. Was not very compassionate at all. I'm thinking the majority of people realize life happens and you have no control:(

Thank you for your comments Sandra. I am so sorry that you felt I did not demonstrate compassion when you decided to cancel your reservation. I have encountered and responded with understanding and compassion to many cancellations due to illness, accidents, deaths etc. in the past 10 years. The 'unhappy response' in this case arose from the lack of clarity regarding the 'emergency' - you had called a few days prior to your arrival to inquire about the cancellation policy as you had not realized how far the Lodge was from your friend's location on the Island. Upon arrival you informed me your friend was on a list for surgery, and that you might not be able to honour your reservation. The only time a 'family medical emergency' was mentioned was when you were on the phone with an Expedia representative asking to cancel your reservation. Hence my confusion and lack of empathy regarding this 'emergency'.
Your feedback has allowed me to reflect on both my interactions with guests, and on cancellation policies - thank you.

Vantagens: Peacefulness
Desvantagens: Squicking of the floor. A lot to say ..
so many NEW THINGS to adventure. Just have open TIME everyday to explore.
Great place to R/R.
For little time for SOUL SEARCHING ...this is THE PLACE.
LOVE IT can't wait to come back to this place again.

Vantagens: The grounds were beautiful. The location was spectacular. Loved the room decor and the many ways to relax inside and out.
Desvantagens: I can't think of any improvements. Even the wi-fi was good. Wish the area had more restaurant choices, but good fish and chips were only 15 min. away.
Localização: You are close to the Adrenaline Zipline tour which I and my granddaughter both did and loved. There's a cafe 5 minutes away where the food is good.
Gorgeous grounds, peaceful atmosphere and wonderful host. I want to come back for sure. The beach was so beautiful and just a one minute walk from my room. Enjoyed the hot tub, all the comfy spots to sit and read or watch the waves. A bit of a drive to get to Victoria but worth it for the amazing experience of being here (for less than a standard room in a hotel downtown). Also, just 15-20 minutes to the Zipline. All in all, we loved it here. Perfectly comfortable, clean and cozy.

Great place to stay that is outside of Victoria

Vantagens: The Owner, the location, the grounds, the location and did I mention, the location
Localização: Great restaurant - Glenrosa Farm Restaurant - about 8 km away.
If you are tired of staying in the high rise apartments of Victoria, you should try out the Lodge at Wier's Beach. The caretaker / owner is very nice and hospitable. The rooms are good, but you might want to get an upstairs room - there is a shared TV room, which is fine because we didn't go there to watch TV. We were both looking for some peace and quiet, and that is the strength of the Lodge. The drive is longer than it looks, but the feeling of being "away" is great. The beach is the picture of what you think a serene beach would be. If I had the money, this is exactly the kind of place I would love to own, so until that day - I'll rent the rooms here.
