My husband and I wanted to take out kids to Tahoe for the weekend and this cabin was in great proximity to the local town and lake. The neighborhood is very quiet and nice. The actual cabin is extremely outdated on the inside. I have never seen such an old oven, but everything worked and that's what mattered. Not a ton of lights in the kitchen but that's no biggie.
What really bothered me was that the inside of the cabin wasn't that clean upon further inspection. When we first walked in, it looked great, but then my husband went upstairs to look at the bedrooms for the kids and he found a dirty used bowl, trash, and empty water bottles. Then one of my kids came to me and said they found a mask. Then a few minutes later my husband found 2 vape sticks in the couch cushions. Then, I went to put my daughters carseat cover in the washing machine (slight carsickness accident) and found wet bathmats in the washer.
During the rest of our weekend we proceeded to find, two pairs of socks, another mask, and more water bottles throughout the rooms of the cabin. It does state in the description that the housekeeper can not move heavy furniture but really, it was becoming ridiculous. For the price we paid, I would have expected it to be much cleaner.
I did message the owner who apologized and that was that. In terms of other amenities, there is a charcoal grill, but no matches or lighter so be prepared to bring your own. Also, bring your own plastic bags, paper towels, laundry soap, as she either had very little or none of these things.
Also, if you do have children and choose to let them sleep in the upstairs bedrooms, do not leave the windows open as there are no screens on them to prevent them from leaning out.
As stated before, it was fine for a weekend but I think next time we will find something much more updated and clean.
