Nice beach front home
Stayed here as friends, 4 couples. Really enjoyed our stay. House is nice. In gated area at end of street. Easy access to the beach. Our only complaint is all the beds are REALLY hard!

Great House with direct beach access
We really enjoyed our family vacation on Coco beach. The house had plenty of room and beds for our family of 6. The black sand beach was absolutely beautiful and somewhat private. The bedrooms all stay very cool with individual AC units. The kitchen had everything needed to make meals. There is not AC in the main living and kitchen area but was tolerable. The howler monkeys visited the trees on property almost every morning and evening! So fun to go out and watch them. Raquel was great to work with answering all of our questions and helping us with transportation and golf cart. We had 2 excellent meals prepared for us by the family that takes care of the property. It was by far our BEST Costa Rican meals we had the entire trip. I highly recommend doing this!

Fun place to stay

Awesome House
Great place to stay. Your own little piece of paradise. 4 good size rooms. Nice living/ cooking area. Very safe place. Do yourself a favour and get the in house cooked meals. Delicio! Would have liked the option of screen on all sliding doors to have air flow but A/C in rooms is very good. 2 safes to use, We had issues programming but there was a key option. Coco is a tourist town with lots of shopping and restaurant options. It’s a 25 minute walk down the beach to town. Get at least a golf cart if you plan on shopping. Check out some of the “off the beaten path “ places to eat. The Sodas are great. For a group this is a great option. Thanks for having us! Pura Vida 🍻

Wonderful Beach Home
This home is exactly as described on the listing and was perfect for our family of 6 adults, 2 children(5 & 7) and an infant (15 months). To have a private pool that is only steps away from the ocean and beach is amazing. Coco Beach has become a very busy place and the home's location away from town provided a nice refuge from the hustle and bustle. Its true that there are small ants prevalent around the home but remembering to shake out towels, etc. can help keep them off as much as possible. Our concierge, Raquel, was very responsive to our requests and arranged a golf cart rental for us when golf carts were in high demand. Although quite expensive, renting a golf cart to travel into Coco Beach is very convenient. A playpen was also setup and available for our infant grand-daughter when we arrived. The dark volcanic sand on the beach takes some getting used to but after spending some time on the beach we enjoyed it very much. There is a poolside shower for body wash with a lower faucet for foot and leg cleaning upon returning from the beach. The sunsets were gorgeous. We soon learned to avoid the water during high tide and when the waves are high because the undertow is treacherous. Taking children to the beach earlier in the day when the tide is calm is a much safer option for parents! Howler monkeys visited the trees right beside the house as well as trees further down the beach. Several large iguana chased each other in the back yard while colourful birds sometimes landed on the patio. During an ocean fishing trip we saw a whale, a sea turtle, rays and dolphins. We caught a large mahi mahi which was prepared for us in a meal prepared by our host, Edwin's, daughter and his wife. We elected to have 2 more meals prepared for us during our stay and they were delicious. Edwin was very responsive to all of our requests. In terms of checking-in, despite having directions on hand, we did have a little bit of difficulty explaining the location to both of our drivers. The lack of home address numbers makes it more difficult to find locations generally. One minor suggestion might be to erect a visible sign near the gait identifying the entrance. Directions might then read "Drive north on La Chorrera until you see a wooden gait with a sign indicating Casa vista verde". Other than that our stay was great and we would love to go back.

Coco beach
Five adults 60+ years old. Two of us scuba dove for three days with rocket frog divers (highly recommended). The house and grounds are beautiful and safe. The beach is just right. Can walk to town by the beach revie or rent golf carts like we did.

Wonderful expierience!
The house was wonderful, we unfortunately did not see monkeys but did see some iguanas. The house was exactly as pictured and described. The bedrooms stayed nice and cold and the no AC in the main house wasn’t an issue. Although we were there in the rainy season, it only rained for a couple hours a day and did not hinder our trip. Edwin was great, pool was cleaned several times. Highly recommend this house and owner!

A wonderful home with a AMAZING staff
We had a wonderful time! Raquel was a phenomenal host who ensured we were taken care of. From tours , to house maintenance, and home cooked traditional meals; ZERO complaints. Highly recommend any guest to rent a golf cart , as the property is a decent trek from the main town but nothing you couldn’t ideally walk, there is just a lot of local dogs wandering. We utilized it everyday and needed to fill it once which we did the second to last day (we stayed a week). Saw plenty of monkeys on property as well as other wildlife. Thank you all again for hosting us to such a wonderful time

Wonderful family getaway on the beach
We loved all of the outdoor space for relaxing and playing games. Mangoes in the trees for snacking on and howler monkeys came to visit. We also saw numerous iguanas, lizards, birds and an occasional chicken or dog. The beach was perfect for walking and water was calm for swimming. The house was nice with air conditioning in the bedrooms for sleeping. It would have been nice to have air conditioning in the main part of the house or screens on the windows but the fans made it ok and we spent most of our time outside. The pool was great and was cleaned frequently during our stay. It was nice to have the ability to do laundry and have shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms. Concierge Raquel made sure we were were well taken care of. I didn't want to leave.

Property has no ac in the main area which make you not want to spend time in there at all. We were stuck spending our time in the bedroom when we weren’t out doing things. Well James, your review about Playas del Coco has nothing to do with the house. I'm sorry you didn't like Playas del Coco but that is not a reason to give a 1 star review. It is clear in the listing that the house does not have a/c in the living are, that is not a reason to stay "stuck" in the bedroom, there are plenty of activities out there.

Relaxation & ease at its finest
Property & outdoor space were wonderful. Absolutely loved waking every morning to the sound of the waves. There is definitely an ant problem & we had brush fire on the hilltop above us so the smell of smoke was intense but the property was very comfortable, concierge was attentive & helpful and the caretakers/cook were the BEST!

Very relaxing
We enjoyed our stay at the beach house. The sunsets were beautiful and the howler monkeys were heard every day. Raquel was very prompt with helping us anyway she could and Erwin was there daily for ground's work and very friendly. Even taught our one year old hello in Spanish. We are already talking about returning to the house in the future.

25 yards from beach
House is very clean. I loved the location to the beach. It’s a nice walk into the little town via the beach. One thing Americans need to be aware of is that, as is typical of most beach houses, ONLY the bedrooms are air conditioned. The loft area isn’t really very suitable for sleeping if the weather is hot.

Great Beach house
Laura and Elwin were great to work with. Elwin went out of his way to help any little issues that came up. Definitely recommend this place! Beach is great and age for our kids 10-14. Town is a short walk or drive away. Would definitely visit again!

Not what we expected
We were booked for a week but only stayed one night. This was advertised as having AC but it was only in the bedrooms. Tons of ants in the kitchen which made it impossible to cook. Yuck! The property manager did give us a full refund for the remaining nights which I very much appreciated! This seemed like someone’s rundown cabin.

When we arrived Laura greeted us and showed us the home. She stated it had been cleaned prior to us arriving. After she left we got settled. This house was completely misrepresented online. It was not clean, there was mold and old coffee in the the coffee machine, the kitchen was swarming with large ants, they were all over the counters and furniture in the common space, the showers had not been cleaned in a very long time, there was scum all over the glass and shower heads, and to top it off there was no hot water. We had to switch locations after the first night. We tried spraying for ants before going to bed. An exterminator came the next day and informed us there were ants nests inside the home in the kitchen as well as countless nests on the outside of the home. I realize this is the tropics, but the exterminator said this house looks as if it had never been fumigated. We switched properties and had none of these problems.

Nice stay for adults plus an infant
this was a great place for us with our adult children and one 8 month old - bedrooms provided great getaways and the common kitchen/living are surrounding the pool is where we spent most time. Beach is 25 yards away from back gate and is pretty private with some great shaded areas just adjacent to beach - close enough to restaurants, but off in its own private area - was a great solution for us.

50th Girls Trip
We had an amazing time! Nice and close to town and a great beach; not too crowded. We definitely recommend renting a golf cart if you have no car as they are the best way to get around town. Laura was very informative and helpful; we just had a communication issue which was cleared up quickly. The meals were fantastic and Jocelyn and family were so friendly. The girls loved the daily visits from the neighborhood dogs.

Perfect beach house
The house is perfectly laid out for a number of people. The outdoor space is accommodating and well designed. The fishes were chosen with the location in mind (concrete floors, tile showers) and the beach h location is perfect.

Gorgeous location
We loved every minute of our stay in this house. Perfect setting and fabulous outdoor space with pool. Plenty of room for our family. We walked into town or to the coffee shop most days. We did several excursions with El Coco tours which were great. Everyone we interacted with was great. Laura helped arrange the tours. Joselyn made dinner for us at the house twice--delicious. We would love to stay here again and bring some friends.

Great place for families to stay. Lots of room on the patio to sit and talk, or rock in the hammocks. Views are outstanding, plus there's lots of wildlife swinging, chirping, or scurrying by. love that each bedroom has it's own bath

January 2019 Costa Rica Vacation
The house was in a great location - close to the beach but private and within walking distance to town. Our shuttle met us at the airport and our rental car and golf carts (great way to get into town) were delivered to the house where Laura are concierge was waiting. The accommodations worked out perfectly for our extended family with each of our three grown kids (with our grandchildren) having their own space and us a private master bedroom on the 2nd floor. The big common area including kitchen was a great gathering area for the family and the kitchen worked out well. All-in-all I would highly recommend this house to a larger family and look forward to staying here again..

The location of the house could not be better, so close to the town and the beach is just steps away. Getting to town via golf cart was perfect!! The pool was the perfect size. Relaxing in a perfect little town
My family of 6 had a wonderful time. We rented a golf cart which is all we needed. Laura was super helpful with everything from tours to transport. When we had a glitch, Laura and the owner were swift in their response and made things right. The monkeys in the front yard were hilarious and the nearby beach absolutely beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay here again. The dogs and cats that made our way to our animal loving family was the icing on the cake.

Highly recommended Beach Home
Perfect location & set up wonderful for multiple families, definitely would recommend & rent again. Golf cart was perfect Transport & great for coffee run or dinner, however we made both at the beach house as well. Suggest a new refrigerator, doesn’t cool down as much as preferred & seal seemed weak. Still really thought property was great. Thank you for sharing your property with us! Very nice home for the right group
I have to admit that I'm a bit conflicted about this review. For the right group, and I think that would include either all adults or a family with older children, this is a perfect getaway place. The home appears to have been recently refreshed, with new paint, cabinetry, etc. There's a large open kitchen/living area that isn't air conditioned but has great ventilation when the ocean breeze is blowing (which was nearly all the time during our stay). The four bedrooms are all air-conditioned and have reasonably comfortable, but definitely firm, beds. There are large baths with walk-in showers in each bedroom plus a common pool bathroom with shower. Speaking of the pool, it's small but provided a lot of hours of relaxation and cooling for our group. I'd guess the pool stayed around 80-85 degrees F during our very warm visit -- maybe a few degrees warmer than the ocean. The beach near the house is also pretty mellow, or at least it was during our stay. There were few folks around and the waves and under-tow were minimal. The home is also very conveniently located -- just a km or so from the main Coco restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. and even closer to a small business area with several very good restaurants and a small store. There are at least 3 grocery stores within a very short drive and they stock everything needed. I'd say pricing is "resort" level, so everything including restaurants and groceries is higher than in other parts of CR. So why the conflict if it's all so nice? We had a group that included 3 small children, which we mentioned when booking. Many of the features of the house that are kind of "cool" for adults are downright dangerous for small kids. The home is mostly concrete, including floors, countertops, etc. The floors are extremely slippery when wet and there are no floor coverings at all. The heavy concrete island edges are right at head level for little people. There's a beautiful open staircase to the second floor loft and bedroom, but it has insecure railings (too much room between the horizontal slats) on the side facing the room. On the wall side of the stairs there's plenty of room for a child to fall through. Speaking of railings, the same rails are used on the upstairs decks -- again a major child safety issue in my opinion. Simply put, we spent way to much time trying to make sure the kids were safe. We expected that wrt the pool and ocean but not the house. So its a great adult hang-out.

Loved the location, the pool and the house setup.
This was a great property and we loved the location. The pool was excellent and we spent most of our time in it. the beach is so close and we would walk every morning. Really loved our stay and I would highly recommend this hours.

This house is perfect for 4 couples. Lots of privacy and amazing shared space. Woke to monkeys in the mango trees every morning. Was always a nice visit every morning from the wild dogs around. Nothing beats listening to waves from the sea in the comfort of your own home. El Coco Tours is amazing, from picking us up from airport to being on all our tours. Laura and Oliver are amazing, they made the trip with all there help and knowledge. The house had everything you could possibly need. Nice and private at far end of coco beach. We all felt totally safe all the time. Locals make you feel welcome. If your not much of a walker you need some form of transportation. We rented a couple golf carts, that was perfect for us. Always a great place to stay! Very convenient
I believe this was our third time at this house and it was perfect as always. You can probably see one of my previous reviews below. Property is well kept and in excellent condition. The house is so convenient to everything, (within an hour of everything you want to do). Highly recommend Laura with Concierge All Costa Rica Rentals for all your activities etc, she manages the home and was super responsive to everything we needed. While this house is very clean, functional, convenient, and priced right, do not expect the lap of luxury. It is what it is, perfect for us especially because it is 30 meters from the water. The kitchen and furnishings are nothing out of a magazine, but it will serve your needs, and hey its Costa Rica, get out of the house and do some activities! You may encounter some crawling bugs here and there, and there are a lot of dogs and chickens around the property which we loved and are minor issues. I would recommend you bringing some serious mosquito repellent though. Rainy season had just ended and they were relentless. Our family spent Christmas here which was amazing. We had family fires on the beach every night and walked the mile or so along the beach to town every morning for mimosas and screwdrivers. It was truly a Christmas to remember and this property helped that happen. Thanks Randy!

The property is well kept and in a prime location close to everything.
We were a large group and this house was a perfect fit for us. Lots of bathrooms and common area space was a plus. The pool is kept up nice and clean, and with the tropical humidity it is nice to soak in the pool. The house is situate on the beach, we were able to go for a jog on the beach and see sunsets and sunrises. I would recommend this house to anyone. Two of the bedrooms are accessed through the backyard (although they are attached to the house structure). Therefore if you have children under 18, these two rooms may not be appropriate. We had a great stay and wonderful time at Playa del Coco!

Very wonderful stay, very close to beach and town
Our family of 12 really had wonderful time! Overall the house was great but only AC in the bedrooms and none in the main house. The pool was great for young and old alike. Pacific ocean and beach was an easy walk of about 100 feet from house and was great fun in surf. The town Playas del Coco was a mile away and we rented a six passenger golf which worked great getting around town and back. Town has a lot of big mercados and restaurants. Laura the concierge for the house is good, she can arrange everything you want, like rides to and from airport, tours, just ask her and she will probably get it for you. Only inconvenience was no clothes dryer!

Relaxing
I loved staying here for two main reasons. First, it's on the beach, what's better than that? Second, it was a few houses down from my, now wife's, family who lives in Coco. The house itself is a nice design and allowed me and my guests the privacy and community when we wanted it. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone thinking of staying here in beautiful Playas del Coco.

Stunning location, beautiful house
This house is amazing. We stayed here for 4 nights before heading to the Arenal Vocano for the duration of our trip. Laura, the concierge, greeted us and did everything she could to help us during our stay. We especially enjoyed the breakfast we requested for our first morning! Most of the time we like to cook on our own (one of the benefits of staying in a private house) but decided in would be fun to experience an authentic breakfast. It did not disappoint. We loved this house. We came at the end of the dry season and it was pretty hot, but the air conditioning in the rooms worked beautifully. The pool was clean and well maintained. Our kids (6!) spent hours and hours on that beautiful beach. Several mornings we woke to howler monkies in the trees outside the house. We also enjoyed the birds, lizzards, and other wildlife. Thank you for providing such an amazing house.

Great accommodations, even better location!
My family and I stayed at this property in February of 2017. It was our first time to Costa Rica, but not our last. The home is situated just off the beach, which is what really makes this property a gem. The complimentary concierge made sure we had everything we needed and helped us book our rental cars and some excursions. The home is close enough to town to walk, although we opted for the vehicles most of the time. Randy and his concierge were a delight to work with. All in all, we had a great time and hope to visit again.

wonderful winter getaway
This house is perfect for a relaxing, quiet vacation. Just minutes from Coco, beach a few steps away, and a private pool too. It is an easy ride from the airport in Liberia, and many sites and tours are close by. Our concierge, Laura, was so helpful. She arranged our rental car, a river tour, and was available to help us in any way. Edwin was wonderful to work with, if there is an issue, he promptly takes care of it. Thanks for a wonderful time
