Ants
This was a very cute place, cute concept, but unfortunately they had ants in the kitchen and mouse droppings in the cabinets which made things gross and uncomfortable during our stay. We had to pre-wash anything we used from the kitchen and supplied our own paper towels, dish soap, and sponge. After our stay we were offered a refund for the inconvenience and that never came through either. It’s unfortunate too because with some pest control and better communication this would be a five star place.

We are so sorry for these issues. We have had pest control at the property now and resolved the ants / deep cleaned all cabinets etc. We have also made our cleaners aware of the re-stocking issue. This unit is getting the refreshing it needs to be back to 5 stars and we are so sorry you had these issues. The refund should have been processed, please reach out to us if you have not seen it at this time. Thanks!

Aesthetically Appealing
If I were rating this unit on strictly decor and space, I would hands down give it a five star rating! So cute!! Such great taste in decor and appeal in a beautiful older house in a great neighborhood. However, it lists as sleeping four. This is not the case. Thank goodness my friend had brought her air mattress just in case. The purple couch is the “sleeps 2” apparently, but it is so uncomfortable and lumpy and it isn't any wider than a twin size bed. There were not enough towels for four people and about 1/10th of a roll of toilet paper in the whole place. We didn’t get there until 10:30 pm so we’re not prepared to have to use the toilet sparingly until the next day. There was not extra bedding either for the extra pillows and no sheets or blankets for the purple couch. I also had to text the manager to get directions about how to “check in” because they hadn’t sent them to me before hand. The bathroom was well stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash; just no toilet paper. This is a super neat place that is so close to being great. They just need to fix a few things to make it a great place to stay.

Very disappointed
Cute concept, but needs work. Quiet neighborhood, 4 blocks from Smith's Supermarket, GREAT view of the mountains from the balcony, BUT needs some TLC. Stairs need repair and paint, most of the blinds have broken slats, busted marble slab on the table at the foot of the bed, freezer needs defrosting--big ice build-up, couch VERY uncomfortable, broken window in shower, cookware rusty and discusting, bottom of shower curtain skanky and to top it off the water was cut off in the morning of our last full day because account was delinquent. It's a shame because it could be really nice with a little effort.

Fun Getaway
It was a unique experience. We enjoyed the corky atmosphere and the cozy layout. The only downside was the VERY cute coach. It is not the most comfortable thing on the planet and may need to be re-stuffed. We also visited when the weather was crazy hot, over 100 degrees every day. This room being on the third floor did a decent job of trying to stay cool but it was definitely on the warm side. Overall though, it was exactly what we wanted. Which was a fun, unique place to relax and reconnect with one another.

Dissatisfied, not worth the money.
Pros: Cute space for photos, comfortable bed Cons: MANY listed below. I arrived around 5pm to check in and parking was full. I had to park down the street and walk. I walked into a space that had not been cleaned and smelled terrible. There was pizza boxes in the fridge, full trash, mattress without sheets, a pile of towels and dirty sheets in the bathroom, no hot water (I had to boil water on the stove), and found a small baggie containing a white unknown powder on the floor. I took pictures of all of this and sent it to the host yet didn’t receive a response nor refund. He sent in cleaners after 2 hours of notifying him and stated he didn’t know why this happened. There was also loud banging and drumming or music happening below. Poorly managed and not attentive.

LOVE!
The Bird's Nest was the most perfect stay for a sister weekend in SLC! Absolutely adorable decor and sweet details throughout the home. We especially loved the claw foot tub, and the patio was great to spend the evening relaxing. If you are hoping to cook, I suggest brining some supplies, as the kitchen was minimally equipped. Super amazing location, close to great places to eat, coffee shops and very walkable. Will definitely stay here again next time I am in SLC!

Convenient Location
We arrived for check in during a full blown wedding underway on the property. We literally pulled up as the crowd turned to watch us parallel park, then trudged through the wedding with our suitcases fresh off 12 hours of air travel during the wedding speeches. They were gracious and welcoming but we felt terrible. If we’d have known, we’d have certainly timed our arrival accordingly and were a bit surprised not to be made aware that a wedding was taking place on site during our stay. The unit is nice and as pictured other than the hammock. I really enjoyed the bathtub and the king size bed was nice and comfortable. We, like some other reviewers, weren’t given paper towels and we had less than one roll of toilet paper. Messaged asking for more but didn’t get a reply until the middle of the night so we secured our own before running out. This is a cute, well appointed and conveniently located place that could benefit from a welcome guide or manual and ironing out timing of communication and little details.

Cute Little Place
The property was cute and decorated just like the pictures, but it wasnt the cleanest ever. There were some things broken and some ants crawling around, but nothing too big a deal. We took anniversary pictures with all the funky decor and they turned out great so the place served its purpose. It just could use a little TLC. It's also worth noting that the listing sits above 2 other VRBOs and the parking is a smidge tight. Standard checkout list: gather towels, start washer, grab trash. A couple of the blinds need repair and light bulbs need replacing, but the space is used well and the lighting is lovely.

Fun place and great location!
Overall our experience was positive. The check in process wasn’t the easiest. The code we were given didn’t work and it took about 45 minutes to get ahold of the host but once we got into the place it was fun!

Disappointing
I was very disappointed in the communication, the amount of time it took for the property manager to respond to my messages regarding the code to get in and any WiFi info. I didn’t even receive the code to enter until 45 mins after my check in time, regardless of multiple attempts to contact through the vrbo app beginning at noon that day. Once finally in the house, we noticed that there was no extra toilet paper & only a half off a roll on the dispenser, making us have to go but our own toilet paper for the 4 day stay I had booked. There was only one medium sized pot to cook with that was rusted out on the inside! There was barely any soap, no towels or paper towels in the kitchen and the small bottles that were in the shower were two lotions and a conditioner. For the price of the unit I felt very upset they didn’t provide us with simple necessities. The decor was beautiful but the couch was the most uncomfortable thing we’ve ever sat on !!!

Place wasn’t cleaned, nothing “welcoming,” not for 3
The place wasn’t cleaned - bed in disarray, dishes in sink, towels on floor and food in fridge. It took 2 hours for a cleaner to come. There was a coffee maker, no coffee. No toilet paper. No welcoming note etc. Place is cute. We had 3 people and there was no bedding for the futon, which was awful for sleeping. Fine for 2. Location was nice.

Not cleaned upon arrival
i was so excited to stay in this super cute place. i was treating myself for a night during my trip to SLC. i was told check in was 3:00 and upon arrival, the place wasn’t cleaned from the previous guests. the bathroom had dirty towels on the ground and the bed was a mess with pillows everywhere. the couch and floor had crumbs on and around as well. i immediately took pictures and contacted the host. he was apologetic saying the cleaners were late but the place wasn’t cleaned until 7PM. felt like he could have responded quicker, seemed to be more concerned, and/or offered me a partial refund. i expected for the amount of money i paid for a night that the place would at least be perfect by check in time. i only got to enjoy this space for the time that i was sleeping before a demanding check out the next morning. the place was cute and as pictured, once cleaned. but not worth the price in my experience. i was so sad cause my hopes were so high and i was so excited to get to the place at 3:00 and relax and enjoy the afternoon after a long morning of traveling :(( and i didn’t get to do so until it was dark out and time for bed anyways. old building so can’t complain about the noise but just a heads up you can hear the other tenants staying in the building quite well. location is great with pretty views

I am so sorry you had these issues during your stay. Our cleaners were really behind the day you checked in and I am so so sorry. This is not something that happens often, and we are sorry it happened for your stay. I apologize that our automated check out process made you feel like you were being demanded to leave. We will adjust the verbiage to not seem that way, we havent had anyone tell us it comes across like that before but we will update from your comments. Super quaint and awesome location!
I'm a huge fan of older homes with character, which is exactly what this attic apartment was! The view was beautiful, the colors were fun, and the location was awesome. There's a few small food places within a block that had wonderful food (coffee station and crepes). Everything smelled clean, we had all the supplies we needed, and my spouse's only complaint was the stairs going up (three flights on an old house can be daunting to those afraid of heights).

Vibrant and charming
We loved the BirdsNest. There was a lot of room to spread out and the decorating was funky and festive - I loved the rich gem colors used throughout. I took time to bubble-bathe in the clawfoot tub. I would definitely stay here again.

Decent stay
Walkable, yet a bit far, from 2100 S where most shops and restaurants are located. This is the third floor of a three floor house as the listing shows. FYI, as this is a very old house, cooking smells, morning and evening, and excessive running and jumping noise from excited children downstairs easily drifted up to the third floor but dissipated or quieted before 10:00pm. Certainly within expectations for this type of rental.

Great location and aesthetic, but needs work.
The location of the rental was awesome. Sugar House is a neat neighborhood with lots of nearby shops and restaurants. The interior design of the place was nice. Definitely eye catching and unique. The check in process was painless and we didn't have any issues there. The property could definitely use some cleaning. The floors and rugs had crumbs and needed a vacuum. The bathroom floor was pretty gross, the grout lines need to be scrubbed. There was no toilet paper on our arrival and only one wash cloth between the two of us for four nights. I messaged the owner and never received a response. The front door had a very shear curtain over it and that was all in terms of privacy. I would have preferred black out curtains. Parking was fine for most of our stay but on the last night 6 or 7 cars crammed into the lot from the people staying below us and we got blocked in.

Cute, older charm, lots of stairs, not comfortable.
Loved the cuteness of the place. The location is GREAT! It's an older home with some quaint little quirks. Lots of doors around the bathroom make it interesting, haha. The living area could be a little more comfortable/cozy so we ended up spending our chill down time when not exploring in the bedroom. There is no coffee maker/keurig of any sort, so it forced us to go across the street for coffee which was really cute and nice. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Great location
The property was fun and eclectic. We loved the decor. I wouldn’t recommend this property for more than two guests who are willing to share a king size bed, though. Wouldn’t really consider the couch a proper sleeping location. Please have more than half roll of toilet paper for guests in the future as well to save them a trip to the grocery store :)

such a cute gem in slc! the place is easy to find, parking is really convenient too. in the heart of slc. it’s kinda hot, but there’s fans you can turn on. would definitely stay again!

This place is darling! The decor is so fun and fresh. Checking in and out was easy and the property manager kept in touch. Overall it was a great stay, I would definitely recommend The Bird’s Nest of your looking to stay in Sugarhouse!

Great style and location
This is an adorable place in a good location. The size is just right for two people and the view from the porch is beautiful. The only cons were check in and parking. We booked last minute and had a lot of trouble contacting the host to get the check-in information. We did get it eventually after talking to Vrbo customer service. The parking situation is difficult, especially if other cars are there. Overall it's a great little place.

Fine, but wouldn’t stay again
The place wasn’t cleaned by check in time and there were a handful of ants. The owner responded quick and a cleaning crew arrived within a few minutes of me asking. However I had also asked for ant traps and that request was ignored. I don’t know if I could handle the heat in the summer, we had the AC running the entire time and the temp only increased (74 to 80 degrees) during the daytime. Thankfully the nights cooled down easily with outside temps in the low 50’s. I’m a bit doubtful that the lock code changes in between guests (could obviously be wrong about this) but there’s only one lock and only one entrance so it didn’t feel the safest to us. The place is cute and the location/view really can’t be beat - less than a block away from a grocery store and coffee shop/lunch spot. Overall a fine stay and the owner was responsive and nice but wouldn’t stay here again.
