First things first, this hotel is great! It is in a wonderful location, right by the river side. Lots of restaurants, etc. very close by. You can walk up into the city and be to lots of the historic sites within 15 minutes. Room is modern and clean. They do not offer bathrobes or slippers as every other hotel in this category did on our visit. Breakfast buffet is adequate, but with minimal offerings. Of the six hotels during our stay, this was the simplest breakfast.
HOWEVER, PARKING is a disaster. Usually hotels if they do not have on-site parking will have some type of arrangement with a local parking lot. This hotel does not. Which means we had to park two blocks away. We got onto the website of that parking, garage, and it calculated €27 a day to park, check out 3 days later, the rate was actually €60 a day. So we spent almost $200 just in parking. Very frustrating.
Also, in order to get to the hotel, you must walk down cobblestone street and into the block to get to the front door. So this also means when you check out and leave, you must pull your luggage and bags uphill on a cobblestone street.
The description of this hotel on Expedia needs to be much more clear – elderly people, or people with a lot of luggage would have a problem getting to the hotel. And it really needs to be explained that parking can be very expensive and that they do not have a contract with any local. if we had known this, we could've made other arrangements as far as a rental car.
