Perfect home for a family to enjoy!!
This is the second house of Sarah’s properties in Scottsdale that we have stayed at. Our entire family (3 generations) stayed at her house with activities galore in its backyard (pool, hot tub, pickleball, basketball, fire pit, bocce ball, treehouse, cornhole, etc). The house is beautiful and in great shape but having Sarah as the host makes it all even better because of how responsive she is to questions and requests! We will always look first at one of her properties if we are looking to stay in Scottsdale or in Breckenridge. You will not be disappointed.

Perfect Spring Break Vacation
It was great. Backyard sports, pool and hot tub, lounge chairs and umbrellas super nice. Outdoor TV and seating good too. Bedrooms and baths very clean. Plenty of towels.Kitchen well stocked with essential items. Overall a 10

Wonderful property!
This property was wonderful. We came for the waste management PGA tour. We were about 10 minutes from the stadium, and 15 from old town Scottsdale. Everything was at our fingertips. Sara (property manager/owner) was wonderful! She checked in to see when we would he arriving, and during our stay to make sure everything was going as we needed/wanted. She had everything ready for our stay right down to a book full of details on places to visit, eat, golf, spas, etc. the house was beautiful and very clean! Very comfortable beds. The backyard was a little oasis in heaven! The pool and spa was wonderful and refreshing, we played pickle ball, pinging, corn hole, and basketball. We spent most of our evenings in the back yard just relaxing and enjoying ourselves. We will definitely be staying here again!

Perfect family vacation getaway
My in-laws and I decided to do an early Christmas getaway in Phoenix this year. Sarah's Modern Retreat was the perfect home and location! The home was lovely and had everything we needed. There were plenty of family-friendly games to play during the day in the backyard, as well as board games to play in the evenings. Location-wise, you are very close to many restaurants and shopping. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to do something similar next year!

The Perfect Family Getaway!
This home was the perfect spot for our family which includes six adults and four boys, ages five to eleven. The kitchen is well appointed, allowing us to easily fix multiple meals; the living areas are spacious and relaxing, with plenty of board and card games for kids and adults alike; and the beds are cozy and comfortable. We slept like rocks. The best part of it all is the backyard. We all enjoyed swimming in the pool and soaking in the hot tub; sitting around the fire pit, identifying stars and watching for satellites going over; playing pickle ball and basketball; and eating around the outdoor dining table. While the adults enjoyed watching a few football games on the large outdoor TV on the patio, the boys enjoyed turning the two-story playhouse into a Boys’ Clubhouse. No adults and no girls allowed. Sarah, the host, had all the equipment we needed to do all the things, including beach towels to use after swimming. She asked us several times what she could do to make the place better for guests, and we couldn’t think of a thing. She’s a great host. We’ve stayed at many VRBOs, and this one stands out as one of the very best. We were all sad to have to leave. We will definitely book this property again!

Fantastic Family Fun!
This house is fantastic! In honor of my father-in-law’s milestone birthday, the East and West Coast parts of the family decided to meet up in Arizona. We ranged in age from eight to 85 years old — and this property was perfect for ALL of us! Sarah was an excellent host, truly going above and beyond to ensure our experience was fabulous. If you are looking to create great new memories with family or friends, we highly recommend renting this home.

Amazing place!
We loved our time at the Scottsdale house! It was perfect for our 2 families, so many great amenities, clean, well kept and in a great location. We enjoyed the fabulous backyard the most, the kids were always busy! Sarah is also a great host! Very responsive and ensured we had what we needed at all times. We’ve been coming to Scottsdale for years, this was our best stay - we will definitely be back!

AWESOME
We loved our stay over Mother’s Day weekend! The house is everything as reported - and then some. It has so much space inside and out, every room was impeccable…the real joy of this property is the backyard! So much to do, you won’t want to leave for any reason…we all loved the pickle ball court, basketball, the treehouse is incredible, and the landscaping is gorgeous and representative of the best flowers and foliage of the area. We did not want to leave! Working with the leasing agent was a breeze - even fun - as she communicated appropriately throughout booking to the end of our stay. We hope to go back and bring a few friends to fill the space! Thank you Modern Retreats!!

Amazing yard- we enjoyed pool and all games
Only disadvantage was layout of two bedrooms with one small bathroom that had to be accessed through one of the bedrooms. Would recommend room darkening shades for the bedrooms. Location was extremely convenient

Spring Getawaay
We had two famillies stay for a week in April and the house did not disappoint! The pool and hottub were ideal. Sitting by the gas fireplace at night was the perfect place to solve the world's problems. The location was convenient to great restraurants and golf. Sarah was easy to work with and very reachable. Birthday Trip
The PERFECT vacation home for our family trip. A party of 6 adults and a 1 year old. Everyone had a great time. There was everything we needed for the baby, Pack and Play, baby monitor, and booster seat. The house was truly stocked and ready for cooking at the house. Everything was clean and neat. All the activities both indoors and out kept everyone occupied. Located in a convenient neighborhood to just about anything you will need, shopping,, dinning, and attractions. Our Host was Great. Sarah was in touch every step of the trip and answered all our questions.

Great property with a perfect location.
Comfortable 5 bedroom home with a great backyard. The hot tub, pool, fire pit, basket ball/pickle ball court, and ping pong table provided hours of fun for the whole family. Started ever day with a cup of coffee in the hot tub!

On site sports resort
This Scottsdale property was one of the best of all of our VRBO experiences. It’s super resort-like atmosphere with all sorts of in-yard sports facilities was enjoyed by teens, parents, and grandparents alike. Modern Retreats management was super communicative, helpful, and attentive to detail; they even provided a decorated Christmas tree.

Exceeded our expectations!
This property was amazing. We spent a week here with 5 adults and 3 young kids and have nothing but good things to say. The house is beautiful inside. It is tastefully decorated and the bedrooms are big and spaced out and we did not feel crowded in there for one second. The kids have an amazing room - bunk beds, a couch, a tv, and a play area. The backyard is everything we hoped for, and more. The backyard looks even more magical in person and is a blast for both kids and adults. There is a lovely outdoor dining area and couch and tv equipped with outdoor heaters. We spent all of our time in the backyard. We found the location of the house to be great. It is in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood. It was central to food, shopping, and many golf courses and other attractions we visited. It is very obvious that a lot of time and thought have gone into making this property feel like you're at home while on vacation. The house had many thoughtful touches to it such as board games, coffee pods, cleaning and kitchen essentials, q-tips, hair straighteners, and shampoo/conditioner/body wash. The backyard had every outdoor game and toy you could imagine. Sarah was a fabulous host and all of the instructions on how to operate things around the house were clearly laid out. Lastly, every last nook both inside and outside were sparkling clean. We felt as though we were staying in a brand new houese that had never been lived in. I highly suggest booking this property and spending some time here. We will definitely be back!

My family of 10 stayed at this property. It was close to everything fun and the host sarah gave us great recommendations also. Family Trip to Scottsdale
My family and I had a wonderful time at this property. The house is beautiful, well maintained, and in the perfect location. Plenty of room for a group of 10. There were a lot of activities at the house for all people in our group. There were a lot of umbrellas outside by the pool to provide enough shade, even on a hot June summer day. Sarah was very responsive and very helpful in making the stay great. Highly recommend this stay!

Amazing!
Stayed for a week with my family at this amazing property...or should I say resort! The house was gorgeous, clean and impeccably furnished. It had every creature comfort one could want. Just beautiful. And the property/yard itself was a dream. Salt water pool/activities galore...any description will not do it justice. Anything and everything that you could possible want. We had a fantastic time and would stay there again in a heartbeat. And Sarah the property manager was literally the best, so very attentive and kind, tending to every need. Thank you Sarah! The only downside to our stay was that we had to leave at the end of our week. :) Five plus stars all around!

Another wonderful stay

Amazing Vacation
This place was everything we wanted! We have rented houses in the Scottsdale area for the last 5 or 6 years. I have never rented the same place twice, but the family thinks that tradition ends now. The backyard of this house had so much to do. A pickleball court is a requirement for us, but the bocce ball court was an amazing addition to our leisure time. For me, the close proximity to a Jewish Community Center was bonus as we are members in Omaha, so our membership was valid there a well. We could use their workout facility and attend classes if desired. I will be mindful of booking next year's trip before this place fills up. Thank you, Sarah, for being so attentive and addressing any needs promptly. It made a great place even better. Kathy

Fantastic 5 night stay with 7 friends from around the country. Everything was perfect- tons of plush towels, comfortable beds, extra blankets. Lots of extras like garbage bags and laundry supplies. Scottsdale Treat!
We enjoyed all that this home offered! The many bedrooms (5) along with the very entertaining backyard provided us lots of outdoor sun and fun! Our host does a great job communicating during our stay to make sure everything is going well throughout the weeks! Home is located close to golf, hiking, dining and shopping!

Best VRBO ever/High Quality/Attention to Detail/5 STAR
This was on the top of our rentals with VRBO!! The listing is completely accurate, but better than even expected. We had a family of 7 adults, we had plenty of room in the house. It felt newly renovated and the details of Sarah and her group were very thoughtful. From details on what to do Scottsdale area, to items in the house that were thought of. Shampoos, shower gel, soft Kleenex tissues and tp and nice sheets. She did not skimp on quality. Very clean and many extra towels, all the supplies you needed as if you were at home. We never used the laundry but it was full of supplies if needed. The backyard was definitely the highlight! The pickleball court was the favorite, but all other activities were fun too. The kitchen had high end cookware and plenty of supplies needed to cook, though we didn't have the time to cook. The attention to detail was the best I've experienced in renting homes with VRBO. Sarah checked in with us everyday to see if we needed anything or had any questions. Her communication was excellent. We would book this house again and again if coming to Scottsdale/Phoenix area. Quiet upscale neighborhood with easy access to North Scottsdale Road where you can find everything. We loved it! Kudos to you, Sarah, for being an awesome host and providing an incredible home for our vacation.

Amazing home with amazing amenities
Seriously best place we’ve rented so far. The home is updated and super clean: beautiful kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms! We had our whole family around for the holidays and plenty of space and fun. We love having an outdoor TV and the heaters were great for winter time. Fabulous pool and spa. The kids played pickle ball and basketball nonstop. The backyard is like an amusement park. Kitchen is well appointed for cooking and eating in! Best thing-Sarah is an amazing host -responded immediately to any question and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you Sarah -it was a super enjoyable trip!

Wonderful weekend of great memories at this property!
This house was sparkling clean upon entry. The backyard is simply stunning and drew us outside like a magnet. The host (Sarah) was amazing. She was super easy to connect with and always available throughout the entire process of renting from beginning to end. I can't emphasize enough how great she is. The only hesitancy I would have about renting here again with 10 adults relates to the bathrooms. There are a total of three bathrooms - two are inside rooms (master bath style) and then one hallway bathroom. This hallway bathroom was then shared with the remaining 3 bedrooms (6 people) and made it awkward to get ready in the mornings and prep for our evening special event. Of course the people with private bathrooms in their rooms shared but it just felt awkward. I think this would be much more comfortable with only 8 adults because of this and it is just a bummer that in the house planning a small half bath wasn't added to the plan. All in all - we did have such a lovely time!

Arizona getaway
The property was beautiful. The house was a good size. We had 10 adults who all fit perfectly. The yard was huge with so many things for everyone to do. Pool and spa were great. The location was perfect. It was about 10 minutes to Kierland one way and about 15 minutes to Old Town Scottsdale the other way.

Excellent vacation!
The house is absolutely amazing. It was spotlessly clean and nicely furnished. The kitchen was well stocked with all manners of utensils and materials; it had everything we needed for the whole family. The bedrooms were spacious and the large room for the kids worked brilliantly for them. The A/C worked without issue. The pool was brilliant and the hot tub and fire pit were a huge bonus. The main room is set up very nicely and there is tons to do in the house including games that all ages could enjoy- pickle ball, bocce ball and table tennis. We have small kids who had an absolute blast, as did the grandparents. The house is in a quiet and safe area but within easy driving distance of a ton of activities. Kierland Commons is extremely close and that had lots of shopping and restaurants. We also enjoyed the zoo and aquarium. Sarah is a brilliant host and her compendium of recommendations was a brilliant resource. I would absolutely stay here again without a moment's hesitation.

Outdoor activities aplenty
We rented the house primarily for the backyard activities and a chance to get away. Because of the high temperatures in August, we primarily used the pool which had a good deep end for jumping and a roomy shallow area for lounging. Basketball/pickleball court was in great shape, wish we could have used it more. Pool table inside was a wonderful way to escape the heat. Kitchen had plenty of dry spices and a convenient coffee bar stocked with Keurig pods and creamer/sugar. Every bathroom was stocked with shampoo/conditioner and soap which was a nice added touch. House was an average clean. Floors/couches could have used some extra tlc but that may just be a personal thing as well as a fluke cleaning crew. One of the best experiences was working with the property manager Sarah. From start to finish she was involved. Communication immediately after booking, at check in, during our stay, and then check out was top notch. I mentioned at check out she may want to keep an eye on the cleaning with her responding that she wished I had told her earlier so she could have dispatched a cleaning crew which I have no doubt she would have done. Renting a home from strangers always comes with a bit of trepidation. Sarah, absolutely made vacation worry free :)

Family Gathering
We have had a family gathering for the last several years. Meeting in a location from three different cities to enjoy family. Sarah Clarke made this so easy. She was so immediate in answering any question or comment. Some people questioned us going to Scottsdale in June but timing is everything. The hikers left early and came back to enjoy the resort backyard. The rest just stayed and floated in the pool. Thank you, Sarah, I would not hesitate to rent any property managed by you!

Perfect!
This is the second time we’ve stayed in this wonderful home. There is so much to do in Scottsdale but since this house is AMAZING we really didn’t need or want to leave! The kids loved the pool and pickleball court. So much room to enjoy outside. Extremely clean, quiet and safe neighborhood. We enjoyed walking every morning while it was still cool. The bunk room for the kids (tweens) is perfect - on the opposite side of the house from the master suite. We had a patio umbrella blow over and break, but Sarah immediately ordered a replacement and also had extra supplies delivered when we ran out. We will keep renting this home when we are in town - can’t imagine staying anywhere else! Thank you Sarah!

Awesome home!
We hosted our adult children and significant others for a week of fun in the sun. We are an active family so the backyard kept everyone entertained. The pictures don’t lie. It’s your own little oasis. The home is clean and has everything you need to cook and feel at home. I have stayed at numerous short term rentals and have never had anyone as attentive and responsive as Sarah! We had a few minor things that came up (none the fault of the owners/managers) and they were fixed immediately! I researched a lot to find this property and it was the perfect blend of space, amenities and location to everything fun!
