When Rome, Florence, and Venice lose their charm because of the hordes of tourists waving selfie sticks- try Padua. We found this apartment to be 1.) Ideally located to see the rich variety sites, 2.) Surrounded by great local restaurants serving local cuisine, 3.) Across the street from a marketplace to rival any in Italy. Our large and elegant apartment with a view of the market and the Piazza Erbe was comfortable and well equipped. And the charming owner, Isabella, greeted us with a large basket of fresh fruit and later a traditional Italian Easter Torte. We took day trips to Venice, Vicenza, and Verona. We drove to Lake Garda and enjoyed Italy's largest lake. It was a magical two weeks.
