We stayed at Atlantis for a few days first, which was fun, but we were looking for a more down-to-earth experience of the "real" Bahamas...and this was absolutely perfect.
Property was well-maintained with many, many thoughtful touches (filtered water dispensers, plenty of towels, Google voice-activated lights and streaming service incl. Disney+, puzzles and games, fully stocked kitchen with oven, extra covid masks in a baggie, and a handbook incl. transportation services).
The owners were friendly and accommodating, and overall we just had a great, low-key experience of a place to stay that felt a little more like a Bahamanian neighborhood vs a mega-resort removed from anything that makes Bahamas special.
People were friendly and was great to just walk around the area. Seemed safe for travelers even though didn't see any other tourists. We ate at the local restaurant a few houses up (not on any map or Yelp--seems to just be a locals place) and it was AMAZING. Homemade spaghetti with Chili peppers, cheeseburgers with some kind of seasoning that don't know what it was but great, and Red Snapper better than any restaurant. The property is within 3 min walking distance from the #10 bus, so got around the island by bus. Multiple beaches are a few minutes walk away.
All in all, if you are looking for a great little place in a legit Bahamanian neighborhood with friendly owners and a nice, thoughtfully setup place--this is a place we would definitely stay again!
