Do not book over the phone; unless you want to be disappointed! Staff was disoriented about the property and gave us wrong information which was very uncomfortable & hard to understand. I’m thinking most people work part-time as no-one knows what is going on!

One of the worst customer service experiences I e had. Over and over I found the front desk to be unhelpful, unsympathetic, dismissive and unkind. They gave incomplete communication time and time which resulted in hours of wasted time. Waiting for rides, waiting for rooms, ect. The property is insanely dated for the price. The rooms have 90s furniture and most rooms don’t have views. Save yourself time and frustration and book elsewhere. The grounds however are lovely.

Great for families. Unfortunately we were there during construction so no playground on site right now but it sounds like they are remodeling for something bigger and better. We are excited to return and see what it is!

Very nice property for family with kids. Sports ( Golf, Tennis, Pickleball, Swimming, Hiking) facility is fantastic. Good dining options around the facility.

This was our second time staying at this resort, and it was just as stunning as I remembered. Absolutely beautiful property with wonderful rooms and helpful staff. My only small gripe would be that some of the outlets in our room didn’t work, and the headboard light was not working for some reason as well. Overall another amazing stay. You won’t regret vacationing here!

To the restaurant: please don't serve the same vegan dish under two menu headings (cabbage, mushroom.) The vegan pasta was gross. Please up your game here I can spend this much money in SF for easily better vegan food at Shizen or similar. Also, no one in any department on the property answers the phone. Seriously. In room dining, guest services, activities, 10 calls each no answer.

Stayed here with my wife and 8 month old daughter for one night on trip back home from Northern California. When you have a baby it’s not easy to feel accommodated at places you stay but this hotel resort was very welcoming to families of all ages and sizes. We loved our stay here and actually wished we could stay an extra night. The rooms were spacious and quiet. Plus the property is large enough to go for a walk and see deer and turkeys grazing. Also they have shuttles that will pick you and bring you to clubhouse if you need a lift. Highly recommended and we look forward to staying here again.

A/C filled the room with bad smell Staff lost paperwork and implied I tried to avoid paying pet fee: during the check-in I told receptionist I have a dog, agreed to pay the pet fee and filled out the pet form. The next day staff was investigating dog noise and I said our dog was quiet. Staff told me I didn't pay the pet fee and I should fill out the form, when I told them I did fill it out during the check-in they continued to insist I need to fill it out and implied I was lying. They did not apologize for making a mistake until I confronted them.

Overrated and overpriced
I stay in a lot of upscale hotels, but this one is extremely overrated and overpriced. I had wanted to stay at the CVR for some time now, and I am very disappointed with my stay. The property is so spread out that you need to take your car to the lobby or get a golf cart ride. Needless to say that nobody hangs out in the lobby unless they are passing through to go to eat. Rooms are not easily accessible and you need to lug your bags up and down stairs. Breakfast buffet was subpar with a very limited choice of food. Croissants were hard/old, à la carte avocado toast was tough, and eggs were rubbery. The buffet was not worth the price at all. The waiters seemed bothered when we asked them something and did not make us feel welcome. We did not eat dinner at the restaurant, but went to Lucia at Bernardo which is amazing. We changed room because we could hear the busy road from our room even though we had requested a quiet room. Our second room was nice. I paid almost $2000 for 2 nights. This 2-night stay was worth $800 at most. This place is overrated. Service it not what you would expect for the price. I would not stay there again.

The lodge lobby was nice. Otherwise our experience was totally disappointing. Our room was false advertising. The room condition didn’t match description for the high cost we paid. The room was filled with a bad odor, and came with a dusty outdoor tub that is street-facing. We reached out to the staff, who kept us waiting for 30-45min and never got back to us. We wouldn’t want to stay in the room even if it were for free. We ended up departing the property. This experience ruined our vacation :(.

This property was absolutely beautiful. The staff was great, the food was amazing, the room was lovely. I brought my wife there for her birthday. She wanted a relaxing, stress free getaway and this place checked all the boxes. Can’t wait to go back.

Enjoyed our stay but felt it was really overpriced for what it was. Service was exceptional but the rooms were basic and lots of the activities had additional fees. I think this property is more suited for the ultra rich who can afford all of the extras that would have made the stay extra special and not your average joe who decided to splurge for a special treat.
