i was the only guest while I was there for 44 days. It was 3.5 killometers out of town in a remote housing development. It was hard to get to or you had to get a taxi. Unless you spoke Hindu it was near impossible to find one. Or you had to depend on the owners.

3 beautiful furnished studios ,with lush garden ,pool large veranda ,set within our family compound ,an area of 2500sq.m Birds singing ,wind in the trees ,rustling the coconut tree leaves,a view of the rice fields and cattle stroll by . One could relish on the attention given to an "Individual ". We are here to help our guests get around ,either hiring a scooter or motor bike or cycles , whatever the choice, some love to walk too . A 5 minute scooter ride to our beautiful Majorda Beach ,welcomed by all English speaking staff, in shacks or in Taxis. We are always willing to do drop off and pick up from the beach or local restaurants am -- pm .It is our pleasure to socialize with everyone too A day trip to one of our favourite places , educating about nature and local life . So much to be seen ...so much to enjoy .......... It was wonderful to have a full house at New Year , We all had a great time at our local restaurant Pentagon.....

Beautiful location
Clean,well thought out in terms of light self catering. Beautiful garden and field behind full of wildlife make this a very good choice for a peaceful retreat. Beaches are nearby so with taxi service from hosts everything is accessible. Yvonne and Norris are attentive without being intrusive and both are very caring. Highly recommend.

Beautiful location, superb hospitality, the ultimate chill.
We stayed at Fernlodge as a relaxing week at the end of our holiday in India. Yvonne and Norris were excellent hosts and their homestay was first class in all respects. Communication was excellent throughout. The photographs do not really do the property justice. The three studios are located in a separate building just across from the family home. All the studios are very similar to one another, with a comfortable bed, good AC and fan, filtered water, fridge, well equipped kitchen area and large shower room/wc with constant hot water. A long verandah with comfortable seating fronts the studios and there are washing/drying facilities to the rear. Wifi is enabled through a dongle. The grounds, garden and swimming pool area are beautiful and well tended by Norris. Yvonne has her own yoga studio and she made us very welcome as Yoga 'first timers'. A very relaxing and enjoyable experience. The whole ambiance of Fernlodge is one of calm and tranquility. The sunset views across the paddy fields, with the local farmers and their oxen returning home, were truly memorable. Norris and Yvonne are always available to help with your transport needs (additional, but reasonable, cost) plus ferrying to/from the airport/station. There are lots of good local restaurants at reasonable cost or Norris, who is an excellent chef, will happily cook for you. We really enjoyed sharing a family meal with Yvonne, Norris and Anya - thanks for the chocolate brownies Anya! We enjoyed a daily walk (lift available if needed) down to Majorda beach, which was absolutely stunning, where we were very well looked after at Vanya's shack. The beach was very quiet during the week, being a little busier with locals at weekends. We saw plenty of colourful bird life during our stay, together with other wildlife- we are both keen naturalists. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fernlodge and were made to feel very welcome by the family, who are excellent hosts. We have no hesitation in recommending Fernlodge to others. A serene and tranquil environment - the perfect place to relax. Many thanks to Yvonne, Norris and Anya.

Lovely Stay
We had a lovely stay, with the accommodation and amenities being excellent. Yvonne and Norris looked after our every need, and made everything easy. Thanks very much to them for their input into organising everything we asked for. We'd have no problem recommending this homestay to anyone wanting a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Chris & Donah

Lovely having you. We are always around if you need us, whether it's a scooter hire ,a tour ,a train or a chat . We enjoy every interaction with all our guests,and especially over the festive season!! Its a pleasure to have had you join us all at Fernlodge . Thank you Warmest wishes .

Yvonne and Norris make you so welcome.
They regard their mission is to make your stay as comfortable as possible. This includes giving you a lift to the supermaket on first arrival to providing yo with a local phone for you to contact them if you wish to whilst out. The garden and pool are kept to an excellent standard and are just beautiful. If you don't have Norris's goan chicken curry you have missed a trick. Wonderful Yoga by the pool in the morning was so relaxing thank you

It really is our mission....to make it all possible !!Relax ,feel rejuvenated & healthy. Our environment is very special .It surrounds us with a lush green tranquility. While on the lounge beds by the pool ,gazing up in the sky at a passing eagle. In the coolness of the morning, embrace the blissful feeling in yoga/meditation class. It gives us great pleasure to know we have helped our guests capture that feeling . Thanks for being with us,and we look forward to doing it again !
