Relaxing lakeside getaway
We loved our stay at this cute, comfortable house -- drinking coffee on the deck and watching the birds, biking and dog walking on the nearby Ashuwillticook trail, relaxing on the screened porch in the afternoon. Very nice kitchen and bath, with everything you could need for a relaxing getaway!

Great Spot
This was a great spot, it felt like we were on our own private island! Cabin is on the small side, but has everything you need with spectacular lake views. My kids are in college in Mass and NY, so it was better to rent the house and meet there for Thanksgiving, we had a wonderful time. Antiquing and other activities in the area. Also great hiking, but a little too cold on our trip. We did miss having a dishwasher

Great time
Very clean, comfortable and secluded without being isolated. A big portion of the backyard was literally underwater due to the unusual amount of rain. But the water was clean and the kids and the dog had a blast playing in it!

Summer 2023
The house was very comfortable for our family of four. Very peaceful location perfect for relaxing out on the deck. The kitchen could use additional glassware and a new coffee maker. Otherwise the house is well equipped.

Perfect Trip!

Great spot for a few day stay!
We enjoyed our stay at the lake house. House was cute and location was great for what we were there for , less then 15 minutes from skiing. There’s a target less then two miles away and a good bar/ restaurant also two miles away. Good for a burger or a sandwich. Communication with the property owner was outstanding, she was quick to answer any questions we had and to let us know she was there if we needed anything ! We look forward to coming back again.

Lovely location; extremely rustic
Me and my two friends (all late-30 mamas!) we're excited for a weekend without kids and booked this property. Location was great (amazing bike /walking path near by and well appointed for hiking, restaurants etc!), communication w property manager was great, but it was a little too rustic for our liking. When we contacted the property manager with a specific issue, she responded within minutes and did what she could to address the issue - which I want to note is both rare (such wonderful communication) and appreciated. If you are good with rustic, based on location/proximity to other great things, this is the place for you!!!! Would reco you bring your own towels, matches, toiletries.

Amazing!
This cottage is very clean, incredibly cozy and has plenty of space to enjoy a weekend without ever leaving. The rail trail is in walking distance and a quick walk results in phenomenal views. The kitchen is full of maps of other area hikes, as well. The owners were quick to respond when we noted we'd arrived and seemed genuinely interested in our happiness. We hope to come back in the summer and head out on the lake! The only negative thing about this place is that we had to leave!

Great Family Getaway
We loved our stay! The house was perfect for a family of 4 (and dog) big enough to get some family space but close enough to feel cozy. The view out the back to the lake was magnificent! The location was beautiful and conveniently close to getting quickly outdoors for a snowshoe and close to convenience stores and the like

Three Days in the Berkshires
Our stay was fabulous! The home was warm and comfortable, beautifully decorated and very clean. The property was on a lovely pond with plenty of birds and much needed serenity. We were close to Mt. Greylock (gorgeous ride to the top), Williamstown and the hairpin turn in North Adams. There was plenty to do and there were countless photo ops! I recommend Brookhouse for a nice lunch. Helen, our server, was fantastic! My love for the Berkshires has been rekindled! I cannot wait to return!

Sweet spot on a quiet lake
Beautiful home and property! The house is clean and comfortable. The view is spectacular! It’s a quiet spot without feeling too secluded. We watched birds during the day and heard owls at night. The radiant floors and electric fireplaces are nice, warm touches. I’m not sure if it was a seasonal issue... but .. although there are kayaks, you cannot get to the water because the shore is congested with cat-tails, reeds, and fallen trees. Perhaps you have to go off property. But it’s all so beautiful to look at!

Relaxing Stay
We really enjoyed our stay at David and Geeta's property. Its secluded location surrounded by nature, including fruit trees, makes for a relaxing time. Yet a short drive takes you to nearby towns with excellent food options and outdoor activities. We did take-out from several places due to COVID-19 and visited a few waterfalls. The home itself is spacious and clean, with most essential items provided. We took advantage of the tub, fireplace and games available. Unfortunately, we forgot our binoculars so we missed on getting a close look at the birds that stopped by for a visit. As mentioned by others, the water is not accessible from the home during warmer months because the vegetation surrounding the shore is very tall. Note that even from the deck, this does lead to some obstruction of the beautiful water view but that's nature! Our questions were quickly answered and we are grateful to David & Geeta for hosting us.

Relaxing stay at lakehouse
We had a wonderful week relaxing at the lakehouse. It was comfortable and had everything we needed. There are great hiking trails and towns to explore nearby, and as bird lovers we got our fill of hummingbirds, herons, and more. In summer the pond is covered with lily pads, so we would love to come back in the spring or fall to fish and kayak on the pond.

Quiet and peaceful
This recently-renovated property is clean, comfortable, well-equipped and well-maintained. We very much enjoyed the very private, quiet and peaceful location. We had a question for the owner and he was quick to respond and very helpful. The pond on which the property sits is pretty well weed-covered by August, appears rather shallow, and is not directly-accessible from the property owing to tall vegetation on the shore. On the flip side, the pond draws a wide variety of birds, so if you're a bird watcher, bring your binoculars. We found that there was plenty to see and do within easy driving distance. Overall, we had a very enjoyable experience and would happily return.

Great getaway!
We loved the days we spent at the cottage! It's comfortable, cozy, and well-situated in a quiet area close to a lovely rail trail -- exactly what we wanted. Check-in and checkout were super easy and the owner was extremely flexible and accommodating when winter weather forced us to reschedule by a day. The kitchen is great, there are clear instructions for the house as well as maps and guides for things to do in the surrounding area. We look forward to coming back and enjoying the lake and the lovely outdoor areas around the cottage in warmer weather!

Beautiful views
Overall, my friends and I really enjoyed our relaxing weekend away. It was very clean and cozy. Nicely renovated with enough space to gather. It had just snowed so the lake looked beautiful, too! The house was equipped with enough toiletries and towels but limited on forks so definitely bring cutlery. The frying pans were small and older, too, so just plan for that if wanting to cook breakfast. Additionally, the original posting was a bit misleading in regard to additional guest fees because it’s a “sleeps 6” house but any additional guest over two is charged $20 per person per night. This wasn’t very clear in the posting and appears after check out, so just be mindful of that as well if booking for more than 2 people. Overall, I would recommend this house and would visit again.

Of course there should be enough cutlery, and I’ve replaced the “lost” forks , and bought 2 new high quality pans to go with the whole good set purchased just 2-3 years ago. We had a perfect hot iron pan that came with the stove but that somehow disappeared . as for the additional person charge, we had discussed that through a series of emails and it is computed via the homeaway booking process.

Beautiful Property
Stayed here for a week and could have stayed longer. The property is beautiful, peaceful and private. We walked the driveway several times a day to enjoy the waterfall. The house was just as pictured and very clean on arrival. The view off the back deck is amazing; we loved watching all the birds.

A true respite in the midst of a busy life .
This lovely home sits beside a small wetland-from the kitchen, living room and deck you could view and relax in all this natural beauty. The home was immaculate , the beds comfortable/ we were in need nothing.- it seems the hosts anticipated our every need . The host was readily available and returned our calls and emails promptly . We enjoyed the bike trail which we could walk to from the home and a new jacuzzi to ease our tired bodies afterwards . Stores , theatre are close by . We had an amazing time with family . Serene and Tranquil
The property is lovely and private. Kitchen has all you need ( except a dish washer) . The grill area has beautiful view of the pond. Only negative was that the dryer was stuffed with damp linens, no towels in the bathroom . The ones we found were very old and the kitchen garbage had not been taken out.

I certainly apologize for the cleaning lady’s forgetfulness to take out the kitchen trash bag. (I’m sure it was her oversight). As for the linens in the dryer , it would have been great to just finish the dry cycle. We have many new towels in the towel closet and in individual rooms, but don’t keep them hanging in the bathroom. Otherwise I’m glad you enjoyed the other parts of your stay.

Wonderful Place
My son and his two dogs enjoyed our visit to the lakehouse very much!! The house has everything you need, very clean and great location. We enjoyed having fires in the pit at night and hiking during the day close by. We would bring our bikes next time to ride the paved trail that is right around the corner. Definitely recommend this home for anyone looking to get away and relax. We loved it.

Beautiful and private lake house
We spent 4 nights and 5 days at this rehabed beautiful and private lake house. The views are spectacular and the house is warm and welcoming and generously appointed with heated marble floors in the kitchen and bathroom. Although it was very cold and snowy the house was always warm and comfortable. And the snow plow came when it snowed. The owners, David and Geeta were very responsive to any of our questions. We had some lovely walks with our dog around the property and the close by old rail line. This is an excellent property if you are looking for a quiet and beautiful get away.

Great for a weekend ski trip to Jimney Peak
Our family of 5 (3 kids under 10) stayed for 3 nights for a weekend trip to ski Jimney Peak. House is about 15 minutes from the mountain and 10 minutes to local restaurants and shops. Quaint lake house with all the necessary amenities plus some really nice bonus features. We LOVED the radiant heated floors in the kitchen and bathroom. The kids loved the jaquzzi tub too. Beds were decently comfortable and the kitchen was nice to cook in (stocked with basic necessities). No dishwasher was a bummer but waffle maker and pancake griddle was a nice extra. If staying with kids bring your own movies or games. Overall a great place to stay! Would definitely stay again. Owner was very nice as well.

Christmas at the Lake house
We absolutely loved our stay at this property in Lanesborough. We had total privacy and quiet with beautiful surroundings. It snowed a little just enough to have a white Christmas. Hiking trails around the area are scenic. People friendly and good restaurants. Our favorite restaurants were Freight Yard North Adams(cheeseburgers), Trattoria Rustica Pittsfield(Italian) and Halfinger Haus (Austrian) North Adams. The house was very clean and subtle amenities made it a very comfortable stay. Thank You!!

Clean and comfortable, lovely lake view
My husband and our friends stay over one of the coldest Thanksgiving weekends ever. The Lakehouse was warm and comfortable day and night. We enjoyed the kitchen area the most, with the beautiful look of the lake, the warm floor and a well equipped kitchen to celebrate the ocassion. David was always helpful and responsive. I strongly recommend this place.

Wonderfully scenic and quite.
Even after a snow storm the day before, David made sure the long driveway was plowed and everything ready for our arrival. The house was in great shape and we spend many hours looking at the lake or playing cards in the kitchen. Cold, snowy weather kept us mostly indoors, but plenty of beautiful scenery from the abundant windows. Would like to return to enjoy the lake in warm weather. Jetted tub was great. Heated floors made for cozy feel. Plenty of room for our party of 6.

Just what we needed- Serenity
Book this house in any and all seasons. Living in Brooklyn and working in Manhattan may be the dream for many, but it's hard living. We needed some peace and quiet. We chose to stay here and never regretted the decision. The house is an absolute dream. It has mid century charm as well as all of the modern conveniences and luxuries. Heated marble floors, a 2 person spa tub, large 4k TV and more. The front, screened, porch has 4 comfortable seats and reading light. Two of the seats are slide/rockers and the others are large Adirondack chairs. I would recommend you bring a couple camping fold chairs with you. The lake offers beautiful views of wildlife and provides a great deal of privacy. While the water levels were too low to kayak in the section behind the house this week, the other section is ideal. In other seasons or different years you will likely be able to put the kayak or canoe in the water just behind the deck. Perhaps one day they will install a small dock/walkway to aid in this. Even without I would recommend this to anyone looking for a large home and peace. The location is simple amazing for any guests, regardless of their agenda. We were there for leaf peeping(peak week!) and to re-live a trip we took 20 years earlier as teenagers. Activities nearby: The lake house is minutes from Jiminy Peak ski resort(all seasons activities) other ski options Tanglewood music venue(world class) Mount Greylock and dozens of other hikes for all abilities Fishing Biking Hunting Antiques Excellent live theater Very good food Close to Bennington VT (or drive a little more for Brattleboro. It's worth it!) Lenox, Great Barrington, Williamstown and more destinations to visit for Berkshire charm. Outlet shopping at Lee Target is 5 mins away for food or other needs at the house. The kitchen in the house is outstanding! I can go on and on about the wonderful home David and his wife have created. It is warm, inviting and fills you with a sense of peace. Ending each day there will create memories you will cherish for years. Note: if you are not an outdoors person, prepare yourself. This isn't a suburban lifestyle. The home is modern and clean but you are IN nature. You will see animals and insects on your journey. Live with nature, don't fight it. **Also be mindful that a very sweet cat lives in the nearby home and sometimes can be seen near the Rambling stream or waterfall that runs parallel to the driveway. Please drive slow to protect our friend

Thank you very much for your thoughtful review ; it reminds me well of the reasons we bought and totally renovated this special place/peninsula on the waters edge where the Hoosic River starts the giant Hoosic/Cheshire Lake.

Recently, I stayed a weekend with my husband, mom and dog. The spot is beautiful and so peaceful. It didn't feel like anyone was around, yet it is still a convenient location. We loved the house, especially the tub and heated floors! Lots of hiking around! I would visit again.

Take a breath, or ten.
Time seemed to slow down as soon as we drove onto the property. And as I stepped out onto the second-floor deck overlooking the backyard and reservoir, I felt all of life's daily tensions leave my body. I took the first of many deep, calming breaths that would become commonplace over the next four days. We loved how the house was laid out. The living room room and adjacent bedroom and close by bathroom was my favorite area (though I would have loved spending more time on the front screened in porch had we been there longer). There is a spacious deck off the living room overlooking the lake. We saw a heron and a few other waterfowl and songbirds. I also loved how the property was landscaped. Cute plantings in the driveway area, and then a lovely mix of wildflowers, cattails, grasses, trees, and other more that followed the shoreline. It was a joy to walk our dog in the yard and up the road past the flowing stream and up to the upper pond and another lake. I even tried freshwater fishing—practically steps from the back door—for the first time ever! The property was very private and relaxing, but also close by to lots of towns to pick up supplies or go do things. We went antiquing and knocking around several towns one day and to a country fair then next. Finally, the owner was fabulous in terms of communication and helpfulness. We hated to leave but hope to get back sometime in the near future! Luckily, we got to take back with us lots of great memories. So all I have to do is think about them, and that lovely soothing sigh returns.

Beautiful newly renovated home!
Our family of four and our dog, spent a few days at this Berkshire home. We found the interior to be newly remodeled and enjoyed our time in the large kitchen area. The stairs to the upstairs bedrooms are very steep, so we were cautious when using them. The location is very quiet, but the waterfront lake was overgrown with marsh and we weren't able to use the kayak from the house. It looks like you could use the kayak at a different access location a mile or two up the road, if you had a way to transport it. Side trips to Greylock Mountain and Ramblewild ropes course, made for an enjoyable few days. Having to pack our own sheets and towels was a drawback.

For sanitary reasons we prefer that guests bring their own linens and towels, but for a slight extra fee we can arrange for them. Unfortunately in the summer the lake gets clogged with vegetation around our water frontage , but kayaks can be launched on the other side of our driveway to the pond above the lake. The stairs leading to the upstairs were designed a long time ago when the home was built, and by today's standards are considered steep.
