We were greatly disappointed. Though initially impressed with the Adirondack feel there were multiple issues. The main issue was the extremely damp & musty basement. We arrived at the end of a very hot & humid stretch of weather so we understood it would have an effect, however the basement floor was wet as were the furniture, mattresses, bed sheets, & towels. This was clearly an issue for much longer as the foosball table was warped badly in the middle & the characters couldn’t fully turn. We were told there would be a fan for each room. There were not enough fans per room, with some covered in layers of dust. We asked for more & only two were delivered; still not enough. We had to buy fans ourselves. The fans ran 24 hrs a day to try to dry out the house. We discovered a dehumidifier but it leaked water. We called the owner & he brought one the next day that didn’t work. We called again & were promised another one but it was not delivered for another 2 days. We wanted to prove to the owner how damp the house was & asked him to come in to show the basement but he declined. Even after the humidity broke the home was still so damp that it never dried out. The basement bathroom shower had only a curtain, no liner, & the bottom looked to have mold. Water damage was visible on the walls of the basement shower, tub, & the ceiling. We ran fans in the bathroom to dry it out. Also one of the closet doors was broken & unable to close, a bedroom pocket door couldn’t close due to a high threshold, & the coffee table was broken & barely able to stand. The dishwasher leaked when running, & the dryer took multiple cycles to dry laundry. Both vacuum cleaners were not usable with no replacement bags. The owners asked to remove our shoes when in the house. We did & found the floors were not properly cleaned prior to our arrival. Our socks and feet were damp & blackened. For a 5 day stay with 12 people, we received 1 paper towel roll, 1 toilet paper per bathroom, and a dish towel & dirty sponge. Half our party left after the 2nd day from dissatisfaction with the property. The host gave some help, but he failed to fix the poor conditions of his property. On day 4 I expressed the issues and again offered to show him around (he didn’t come in). He apologized, offered to have the floors cleaned, and finally did bring over a third (very small) dehumidifier and vacuum. He gave us a refund for 1 day which didn’t improve a terrible experience from a premier host.
