Beautiful property. Very nice staff. Really cool place. Only complaint I would have is turn that terrible musack off. Do something else. Playing terrible elevator music ruins the environment

Beautiful castle and grounds but weak infrastructu
Despite the ‘Lodges’ name, these units are more like motel suites than picturesque lodges. The furniture is neither updated modern nor classic- just dated. The bathrooms have not been renovated and the facilities are mediocre. The castle is beautiful structurally but poorly curated. Food and service at the Cadtle dining room was good. Food service at the Lodge dining room was erratic, slow and below standard. Great potential with poor execution.

We stayed in the Lodges and they were very nice and clean and quiet. The rooms were large. Breakfast was delicious and the other dining options they had were very nice. They also had a bar inside the castle with a great view out to the gardens. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Amazing place, best olace we stayed in Ireland. Staff was friendly, castle grounds and gardens were incredible. I want to go back!

Staff was amazing, grounds and castle were beautiful but the lodges were a major letdown. We would definitely stay in the castle or the carriage rooms if returning. The attentive and friendly staff made our stay special.

We paid for a “lodge” overlooking the golf course we were first given a room in the middle of the grounds - we asked for a “lodge” with a balcony on the golf course which we got but the room was tiny - the balcony with no chairs - no coat hangers - I spoke to the manager who had reallocated us but was not forthcoming with any compensation. The room below which our friends stayed in, the tv did not work & was told they would need to share with us ? However, they did mend the tv & were given a bottle of wine as a way of compensation. We could not go in the castle as there was a wedding which was also disappointing. Overall, we were looking forward to our stay at kilkea “lodges” on our last stay of a road trip & treated ourselves so paid more than we would normally but left very deflated.

I had the opportunity to meet the owner Jay Cashman. He was a very hospitable and a gracious host. His property is amazing and is definitely worth checking out. The grounds are well maintained and the accommodations are 5 star. Next trip to Ireland make sure you book a stay at the Kilkea Castle.hj
