Highly recommended
We had a very enjoyable experience staying at this property. Its proximity to Volendam, Edam, Zaanse Schans and Amsterdam made it a great base to have days out exploring. The cheese factory next door - had lots of great souvenirs and of course cheese!!

Perfect place
The house was just perfect. Very stylish, clean and everything there what you need. The kitchen is very well equipped. The communication with the host was easy and we were provided was all information needed via WhatsApp and SMS. We can absolutely recommend this place and had a great time. Thanks for everything!

Flair einer besseren Jugendherberge
Im Haus selber war soweit alles für unseren Aufenthalt vorbereitet, die Böden wirkten dabei nicht richtig gewischt, in den Ecken und auf Oberflächen konnte man Staub entdecken. Küche und Wohnbereich sowie Interieur sind aus allen Stilrichtungen zusammengewürfelt und nicht wirklich durchdacht. Teils etwas lieblos eingerichtet, zum Beispiel hängen drei gleichgroße Bilder an der Wand aber nicht bündig auf einer Höhe. Die Spülmaschinenfront war locker/kaputt und kam einem fast entgegen. Im Außenbereich steht ein Grill welcher bei voller Besetzung jedoch kaum nutzbar ist, schätzungsweise für maximal 4 Personen geeignet. Das Haus ist sehr laut, die Türen besitzen eine Schließautomatik, sie fallen von selbst zu. Dadurch sind die Türen bereits sehr abgenutzt und fallen schwieriger ins Schloss, viele müssen nachgedrückt werden. Uns wurde im Nachgang gesagt wir dürften nicht alle Betten nutzen obwohl das gesamte Haus gemietet war. Man wollte uns die Reinigung der Bettwäsche "eines" Bettes nachberechnen. Angeblich wäre dieses auch nicht bezogen gewesen, da Frage ich mich ob die Vermieter nicht nach jedem Gast alle ihre Betten säubern, spricht nicht unbedingt für die Sauberkeit der Einrichtung. Ein Pluspunkt, die Schlafräumlichkeiten besitzen alle ein eigenes Badezimmer. Tipp: Achtet genau auf die AGB´s, hier wird trotz hoher Kosten und Reinigungsgebühren versucht nachzuberechnen.

A Great Place for a Group
This a a clean, comfortable and inviting property conveniently located close to public transportation. The hosts are great at answering questions in a timely manner and accommodating to special requests. We really enjoyed the country atmosphere and the proximity to a Dutch cheese producer. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer.

Birthday present for mu wife
We were five pairs, stayed during the weekend. The apartments are great for 10 adults. Fully equipped kitchen with large dinning room. Enough place to sit all together and socialize. The rooms are large and comfortable each one with adjusted bathroom, provides excellent privacy. The place is relatively close to Amsterdam, just 20 minutes driving to P1 Central parking. Property owners are very helpful and warm. We really enjoyed our stay here.

In 20 Minuten mit dem Bus nach Amsterdam, Spaziergang auf dem Deich hinterm Haus direkt am Markermeer, der Kuhstall mit Kälbchen zum Streicheln, die Käserei, die bestens ausgestattete Küche.....Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit!

5 befreundete Paare auf Tour
Die Bilder und Eindrücke aus dem Internet haben wir im Chapeau Hoeve genauso angetroffen. Es ist ein tolles, sauberes und gut ausgestattetes Haus. Es war für uns 5 Paare optimal. Super war auch die Verkehrsanbindung nach Amsterdam. Bushaltestelle in unmittelbarer Nähe. Die Besichtigung der Käserei und vor allem auch des Kuhstalls war sehr interessant. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Peaceful country farmhouse
This was perfect for our group of four couples. The house is an easy walk from the bus stop, and a quick bus ride to Amsterdam Centraal Station. The house has a spacious fully-equipped kitchen. Communication with Trudy was excellent. Highly recommended.

Amazing House! Would definitely stay here again!
This house was a perfect getaway for our group of eight to visit and reconnect. We needed a place with many bedrooms, bathrooms, and areas to gather comfortably - - the house was perfect for us! The kitchen was spacious and had everything we needed to cook meals. There is enough space that none of us felt crowded, and the garden and yard are lovely. Access to Amsterdam and surrounding areas is very convenient. The house is in on a dairy farm and is only a short drive from the train station, so going into the city was very easy. Trudy always responded to my messages very promptly, and she welcomed us to the house. We were in Europe for two weeks, and this was one of our favorite places that we stayed. If we are back in the area, I would definitely stay here again.

Eine Ferien Wohnung wie Sie sein sollte und wo man abschalten kann.
Wir haben im Hoeve Chapeau ein paar sehr schöne und erholsame Tage verbracht. Die Einrichtung und Ausstattung der Wohnung war mehr als vollständig und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Wir werden bestimmt noch öfters dort einen Kurzurlaub verbringen

Absolutely great!
We stayed with our friends in this beautiful house. Very clean, near to the cheese factory and the farm, fact that delighted our children. They could enjoy the playground in the back. The house is very spatious, inside there is all you need for your stay. I will reccomend it surely.

Schöne Unterkunft, super Lage, nette Vermieterin!
Über den Jahreswechsel verbrachten wir fünf trotz durchwachsenen Wetters wunderschöne Tage in diesem besonderen Domizil. Der Kontakt mit Trudy war perfekt, sie hat uns bereits im Vorfeld allerlei Tips gegeben und bei unserer Ankunft sehr freundlich empfangen. Größe und Ausstattung der Wohnung mit 5 Schlafzimmern und 5 Badezimmern waren für unsere 9-köpfige Gruppe perfekt. Der große und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtete Wohnraum mit integrierter Küche ist ideal zum gemeinsamen Essen und Zusammensitzen geeignet.Die Zubereitung von Mahlzeiten ist aufgrund der guten Küchenausstattung völlig unkompliziert. Die Nähe von Katwoude zu Amsterdam ist ideal! Von der nahegelegenen Bushaltestelle dauert es gerade mal 15 Minuten, bis man direkt in Amsterdam Centraal angelangt. Bei einer ausgiebigen Stadtführung sowie einer Kanalbootstour konnten wir bereits zu Beginn unseres Aufenthalts umfassende Eindrücke der Stadt sammeln, um dann später "auf eigene Faust" weitere Erkundungen zu unternehmen (Schifffahrtsmuseum etc.). Die ländlichere Umgebung von Katwoude hat uns besonders gut gefallen. So kann man das umtriebige Stadtleben in Amsterdam mit Besuchen im Umland kombinieren. Wir waren beispielsweise zum Neujahrsschwimmen in Zandvoort, haben einen Abstecher nach Haarlem unternommen, Monickendam und die Halbinsel Marken besucht und sind dabei durch beeindruckende Landschaften gekommen. In direkter Nähe von Hoeve Chapeau, ein kleines Stück die Straße hinunter, gibt es ein sehr schönes Restaurant am Wasser - Eetcafé De Zeilhoek -. Dort wurden wir sehr freundlich empfangen und haben lecker gegessen! Wir würden die Unterkunft jederzeit weiterempfehlen und auch gerne einmal wieder hierher zurückkehren. Fabulous place for a quiet and peaceful stay
A group of friends decided to take a break and assembled from different parts of the globe for an overdue catch up for a week. House is well equipped, nicely maintained, in a very quiet area (adequately outside Amsterdam city for occasional visits) and close enough to some of the best villages (with nice pubs and restaurants) to visit in the Netherlands. Some of us, directly or indirectly, will stay at the house again in future.

Wir hatten eine tolie Woche in dem schönem Haus in dem es an nichts gefehlt hat. Wir haben schon öfter für unsere Jahresfahrten Häuser gemietet, aber diesmal war es ganz besonders. Alle Zimmer mit den jeweiligen Bädern, die Küche mit dem gemütlichen Esstisch und den Couchen .....es hat einfach alles gepasst ...das Wetter und noch die tollen Fahrradwege haben unsere Zeit abgerundet. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit bei den Jersey Kühen....die wie es aussieht.....sehr glückliche Kühe ....sind. Die Besichtigung der Ställe mit den Erklärungen wie die .... Jerseys... gehalten werden ist mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail von dem Besitzer erklärt worden. Der dazu gehörende Käseladen ist sehenswert. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und wenn mal wieder die Fahrt zu den Windmühlen ansteht.... dann unter den .... Rauch von Amsterdam...Noch zu erwähnen ....mit dem Bus nach Amsterdam....dann mit dem Tuk tuk sollte man sich nicht entgehen lassen.

Great Place for a Group!
This is a particularly great place for a group. There are 5 bedrooms, each with an en suite bath, and all very comfortable. The communal living area is spectacular! Very well equipped kitchen, huge table that seats 12 easily, lots of sitting space around it, opens to a very nice private garden. We had 5 couples and loved that we could be here together. Trudy was very helpful and accommodating. It's about a 10-minute walk, followed by a 20 minute bus ride to get to the central train station and center of town.

A very good location to visit the Netherlands
Hoeve Chapeau is a beautiful house that can accommodate a large family group or a group of friends. The house is very comfortable and is in a good location to visit many places in the Netherlands. Trudy, the owner is very helpful with answers you might have concerning your visit to the country and of course the region of the house. We would surly recommend this house for a vacation.

Einfach perfekt für uns!
Wir waren über die Ostertage in diesem tollen Ferienhaus. Für unsere Familie (10 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder) war es mit seinen 5 Schlafzimmern und jeweiligem Bad einfach perfekt. Die Lage ist ausgesprochen schön. Sehr ruhig gelegen, dennoch nicht weit vom touristischen Treiben. Der Gang zum Käsehof und Stall der Familie Willig gehörte für uns fast täglich dazu. Perfect place for relaxation and a reunion of friends!
This place is a terrific find! After looking for an in-city place for a group reunion, we decided on Hoeve Chapeau for it's charm and affordability. The house was immaculately clean, well designed for bedroom privacy as well as visiting together, nicely equipped for cooking, well heated, great parking, as well as quiet and attractive. The drive to Amsterdam is very short and easy on the A10. We parked at the Train Station and enjoyed the city very easily. Trudy, the owner was so friendly and available, and even brought a lovely welcome cake. We would highly recommend this home for a great spot to see Amsterdam and the countryside too!

Wundervolles Haus und Lage
Wir verbrachten vom 18.8-20.8 mit 8 Erwachsenen und 2 Kinder in diesem wundervollen Haus. Wir fühlten uns direkt wohl und der schöne Ess/Wohnbereich als auch die ordentlichen und schönen Zimmer ließen uns wie zu Hause fühlen. Der Ausflug (zu Fuss schnell errreichbar) in die Hauseigene Käserei der Familie und die nähe zu Amsterdam & Zandvort machten den Aufenthalt perfekt für uns. Entspannte Tage in direkter Nähe zu Amsterdam
Haben 3 Tage mit einer Gruppe von 11 Arbeitskollegen dort verbracht. Sehr schöne Lage in der Nähe von Amsterdam. Innerhalb von ca. 20 min mit dem Auto, Bus oder Taxi in der Innenstadt von Amsterdam, trotzdem ruhig gelegene Unterkunft. Super Ausstattung in dem Haus ! Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

Amazing stay for a group!
My weekend here with a large group was really great! Trudy was very communicative and accommodating. She had everything ready before we arrived. Due to my schedule, I had to check in 6 hours early and Trudy was able to make it work. The property itself was great. Lots of beautiful green areas around. It is surrounded by farms, but isn't that far off of a major road. The house is about a 10 minute walk to a bus that goes directly to downtown Amsterdam (about a 20-30 min journey depending on traffic) and grocery stores and other shops are right down the road in the next town (about a 5-10 min drive from the house). Inside, everything was very well kept and absolutely spotless. The house has a very expansive kitchen & social area which was where we spent most of our time (you can see it pictured in the photos). The bedrooms are all very spacious and we had no problem getting everyone their own beds. The beds were pretty comfortable as well. The appliances throughout the property were very well kept and we had no trouble cooking, showering, and generally hanging out and having fun. Outside there is even a grill with some lawn furniture for a cookout or something similar. Overall my stay here was awesome! Trudy really made sure that we had a wonderful time and had everything we needed. If we had any questions we could contact her directly as she lives close by. If I'm back in Amsterdam with a larger group of people, I will absolutely be contacting Trudy again to stay here. One thing I should mention for prospective travelers booking this property is to definitely bring mosquito repellent/spray and citronella candles to keep the mosquitos away. The property is surrounded by water and the bug screen door didn't do the best job of keeping the mosquitos out at night. Our entire group had tons of bites by the end of the weekend. This isn't the owner's fault, really - just mainly because of the area and the water. Thanks again to Trudy for making my group's experience an awesome stay. Familienurlaub der Extraklasse in hervorragender Lage nahe Amsterdam
Angereist mit 6 Erwachsenen und 3 Kinder von 3 bis 6 Jahren waren wir über die Großzügigkeit der Räume und der Exklusivität doch überrascht. Jedes der 5 Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und haben eigene Naßzellen und Toiletten. Die große Wohnküche mit allen Koch- und Backmöglichkeiten luden zum langen Verweilen ein. Die Kinder hatten viel Freude an Spielmöglichkeiten und dem Trampolin, sowie bei den Besuchen der Kühe. Nahe gelegene Orte wie Monnickendam und Volendam luden zum Spaziergang ein. Nach Amsterdam fuhren in kurzen Takten Busse oder man fuhr mit dem Fahrrad mit kostemloser Fährüberfahrt. Alles in allem ein rundum zufriedenstellender 10tägiger Urlaub in einem empfehlenswertem Haus mit sehr freundlichen Besitzern.

Lovely Place near Amsterdam!
We are a group of 11 people, with 4 young children. We all had a blast! Children had lots of fun at this lovely house near Amsterdam! It is not in Amsterdam, yet it is not far from everything! We enjoyed the peace and quiet there before our cruise! We've already recommended to several of our friends! Owner is super friendly, very attentive! Highly recommend this spacious lovely house to everyone! Thank you Trudy, for a lovely memory of beautiful Amsterdam, and sorry about any inconvenience we caused you and your family regarding the lost luggage! Wish we could have stayed longer!

Great location, amazing house
This house was very well appointed with lots of space for a large family vacation. We had 10 people on the vacation and there was lots of space for us all to feel very comfortable. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting this area.,

Super Haus!
Das Haus hält, was es von den Beschreibungen und Bewertungen her verspricht! Es ist schön eingerichtet, es fehlt an nichts und wir - 5 Paare - haben das Wochenende genossen. Vielen Dank an die nette Vermieterin.

Modernes und gepflegtes Haus
Wir haben einen Urlaub mit 10-köpfiger Gruppe dort verbracht und waren sehr zufrieden. Das Haus ist geräumig, sauber und sehr modern eingerichtet. Die Lage, ist auch für Leute die ohne Auto die Umgebung erkunden möchten, sehr gut. Die Vermieterin ist wirklich sehr nett und hat Wünsche schnell erfüllt. Empfehlenswerte Unterkunft!

La casa es estupenda!!
Es espaciosa y confortable. Las habitaciones perfectas, modernas, con vista al exterior todas ellas y con baño. La ducha muy cómoda sin barreras. Lo mejor es el salón-cocina. Es perfecto para compartir un aperitivo mientras se prepara la comida. La mesa comedor es fantástico lugar de reunión. La situación es ideal a 15 minutos de Amsterdam y cerca de todas las conexiones. Excellent accommodations in a beautiful setting.
The house is beautiful and was the perfect setting for our vacation to accommodate 5 couples. Each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. The house was well maintained and clean with lots of amenities. By day we ventured out to tour some of the local places which were easily accessed by car or local transportation. We enjoyed making our own breakfasts and even barbecued one night. Trudy was very accommodating. If you enjoy cheese, having the cheese farm right next door is definitely a plus to sample or buy cheese and learn how their cheese is made. This place was definitely a great find and would highly recommend it if you are looking for a convenient and nice place to stay with a group of friends or large family.
