Simply amazing!
The A-frame itself was cozy and well-stocked, and it exceeded our expectations for comfort. We slept very well up in the loft, with the sound of the Skykomish lulling us to sleep. The hot tub was a nice bonus, too. But the real star of this show was the jaw-dropping scenery. To be surrounded by soaring jagged peaks and high forested ridges, with the turquoise river churning by, was awe-inspiring.

Slice of paradise
A favorite location as this was the second year staying here. Between the mountains, river, hot tub and a-frame cabin charm you'll feel removed from the hustle and bustle. Fabulous hosts in a fabulous location!

Relaxing and quiet get away!
Most of the reviews really cover how beautiful this place is. But I really feel like they undersell the huge hot tub with a great view. We didn’t miss WiFi or cell service one bit. The dvd collection was especially impressive and nostalgic. Don’t forget to rewind!

Cozy relaxing getaway
My husband and I went to this cozy cabin for our honeymoon, and it was perfect! The location was unbeatable, with the hot tub being the perfect addition in the cold. We went hiking, snowshoeing, and to Leavenworth one day as well. Loved the well stocked kitchen, and VHS player. Would come back again!

Christmas getaway for two
This A-frame cabin on the river won't disappoint, if you're looking for peace and quiet; to feel like you're away from the hustle and bustle of life. The cabin is situated in a way that makes you feel as though no-one is around, yet there are neighbors on either side, just out of site. We spent time exploring the riverbank, hot tubbing, overlooked the river and mountains while enjoying our morning coffee and gazing at the stars in the evenings. We enjoyed making meals in the kitchen and watching movies from the extensive moving selection. Waking each morning in the loft up the spiral staircase, felt surreal as you sit up from the bed and see the river flowing. The locals are so kind, the restaurants in the area have great selections, and the cabin is only an hour from Leavenworth; which if you've never been we highly recommend making the hour long drive. There are also several hikes just minutes away from the cabin, like Bridal Vail Falls; which we hiked and Lake serene. If you enjoy hiking these need to be on your list. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and the best 3-night stay as our Christmas gift to one another instead of materialist items. Chris and Katie; the hosts are so kind and hospitable, you can tell they love their property and being hosts. We would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect mountain cabin
The a frame is great for a secluded getaway, we had camp fires and hung out in the hot tub. So close to great hiking trails, the adorable town of index and the insta famous espresso chalet. 10/10 would recommend!

Anniversary getaway

Perfect Honeymoon in the Mountains!
Chris and Kate's A-Frame cabin was amazing! Perfect getaway for my wife and I for our honeymoon. The Cabin is very compact but its just the right size for a couple looking to unplug. We had no wifi or service out here unless we went into town just down the road so it was really refreshing to turn everything off and ignore the world for the week. At first we were worried about that since we didn't know the area but Index is really easy to navigate. Every day we would make breakfast and eat outside looking over the river at the mountains, take some time for prayer and then go on one of the many nearby hikes. At the end of the day we would eat dinner at one of the local restaurants and come back to take a dip in the hottub and then watch one of the VHS movies stocked in the cabin. It was nice to know we had neighbors in case we needed anything, but the property itself is surrounded by trees so there's plenty of privacy. A refreshing escape into nature! I think the only downsides are that the stairs up to the bed are a bit precarious and there's no laundry. But everything else was great! We've already begun to wonder if we'll come back to rent the same cabin again sometime :)

Relaxing and majestic.
It was more than I can explain. I was there by myself for the first day and it was so easy to relax and forget about the real world. The view in the morning and the peace of Mother Nature all around. My friend and her dog came for one night and when I text the host about a pet deposit they were very accommodating. No hassle at all. I would recommend this property to all. Great little getaway
This little A-frame cabin was just perfect for my husband and I on our anniversary weekend! The weather was amazing, the views are gorgeous and the atmosphere is so calming. We loved the VHS variety and the hot tub, although it wasnt as warm the second night we used it. Not sure why. But not a big deal at all. Be aware of horse flies though, and other biting black flies. It wasn't too bad, just be aware. Our dog also loved the area, loved swimming in the river!

Great location
I will start with the pros of this cute cabin. Great location! Right on the Skykomish River which made for fun exploring and admiring the variety of river rocks. It is located very close to beautiful hikes including the Bridal Falls Lake Serene trail. Also just and hour to Leavenworth if that’s on your list of attractions. Within the Cabin itself I liked the fireplace and they had a decent collection of movies on VHS to watch. The outdoor area was also a fun spot to hang out and look at the river. Now for the cons. Unfortunately when we went the weather was rainy and dreary -mid June is a toss up in Washington but usually there is some sun. Due to the rain we were stuck inside more than we planned this highlighted the flaws of the cabin. First in the main area downstairs there is one small uncomfortable hard couch. Not the best for 2 people to sit together for a movie. The kitchen was small and if you are planning to prepare a meal here it will be annoying as there is very limited counter space. The cupboards where the dishes are swing open vertically and don’t prop up which is also annoying. The bed is an old uncomfortable spring mattress. There was also only one blanket in the entire cabin if I had known I would have brought one. The stairs are treacherous. All in all staying inside the cabin was uncomfortable and a lot of the design just doesn’t make sense. The interior needs updating. Also the hot tub smelled like mold. For the $$$ I expect a bit better.

We are sorry to read you were unhappy, weather is uncontrollable and you are right it is Washington state. One thing we will do is put the little bench that opens up that is downstairs. That has two cozy blankets in it upstairs in the bedroom, so no one will miss not knowing that there is more than one blanket Available thank you for your pros and cons. We want to make sure we can change those things if possible :-)

Ultimate Weekend Getaway
We’ve stayed in many sweet cabins and I gotta say, this is definitely one of my favorites! Really a great reset from our 9-5. Prime spot for hikes and adventures; relaxing in the hot tub, bbq, hangin out by the fire on the river. Will definitely be staying again, can’t wait to come back!

Amazing Property
This was one of the best properties we have rented! The location, the views, the attention to detail …. Everything was amazing and very well thought out. I brought my wife here for her birthday, and cooked elaborate dinners for her each night. I was really counting on the kitchen having all the tools I need, and they didn’t disappoint! Thank you !!

It’s such a beautiful spot. Sitting in the hot tub on a clear night was amazing. So many stars and the sound of the river. The river isn’t too hard to get down to and walk along. The A frame is charming. It gets nice and toasty at the top where the bed is.

Very cozy, but TINY shower
The property is beautiful and the views are stunning. We loved our stay here but it gets 4 stars because it has the WORST shower I've ever used. I'm 5'3" and if the shower head was any lower, it would have been too low for me. It was WAY too low for my 6'2" husband. Also, it's smaller than a airplane bathroom so it's like trying to wash off in a coffin. I would still stay here again because everything else is lovely, but that might be a deal breaker for some.

Great A Frame
Very nice A Frame, just a few things… had to drive into town to get blankets, there was only 1 thin throw on the bed. Fireplace didn’t get hot enough to heat entire cabin. River is about 20 feet below property and to access it you go down a rope, just something that should be mentioned as pictures are deceiving.

Incredible, romantic, and perfect!
The pictures on the listing don't do this cabin justice! It is incredible. Was the perfect getaway that my girlfriend and I needed. Breathtaking views all around. The hot tub overlooking the river was amazing. Check in was super easy and the hosts are amazing. Loved it and will be back again!

Get weekend getaway
Overall a great experience and I would return again. The past critical comments regarding the proximity of the river and the access due to the bank, in my opinion, are not accurate and exaggerated. The feedback I would pass on to the host is one complaint and mainly kitchen/F&B related suggestions for improving an already great cabin: One complaint (but he redeemed himself later): I reserved the cabin less than a month out. A few hours later, I found out about the proximity of the fire and was concerned about smoke I immediately messaged the Host and inquired about the what-if options if it was too smokey to stay. He didn't message me until 4 weeks later. A few days prior to my reservation, he messaged and didn't address or acknowledge my fire-related questions as the smoke wasn't too much of an issue. He addressed everything else and after we spent some time tracking down a phone number for more questions, the host turned out to be extremely helpful and full of ideas and suggestions for meals, hikes, etc. Suggestions: add a toaster, stock charcoal, fire starter, a few wine glasses, and more ice trays that are filled and ready for cocktails. Regarding the fire started, the host was responsive and provided it after our request. Warning: the spiral staircase is tight so if you're a very large person, it will be an uncomfortable process getting up and down as needed. The place is great and WILL reserve it again in the near future.

Peaceful Retreat

Awesome get away!
This place was amazing! We were wanting to get away with no service or wifi and just unplug (literally) and this spot was great to do just that. It was clean, right on the river, and beautiful! Our pup also loved it. We hope to return someday soon! A few FYIs to help others prepare: - the grill is charcoal so make sure to bring some - there is a very nice fire pit so make sure to bring firewood - didn’t see any coffee at the place but there is a coffee maker so bring some of that too or drive a little and support the local businesses. There are lots of other common kitchen and house supplies which was great! - Most importantly, enjoy!!

We stayed at this property and hiked locally as well as did a long day trip to North Cascades National Park. It was great for just the two of us and we loved having breakfast on the deck while taking in the mountains and the river.

Unbeatable Location
This cute little A-frame sits on the river with amazing mountain views. It was the perfect place to spend a romantic getaway. The stairs in the cabin and the trail to the river are steep and require some physical ability, which we didn't mind. We would love to come back in the snow.

Great place to unplug and spend some time outdoors. The a-frame was the perfect size for two adults and had everything you would need to make the most of your stay including a full kitchen, AC, a comfy bed, a hot shower, and a tv and pretty cool VHS collection that dates back 30+ years. I would definitely stay here again.

I didn't realize I needed use a rope to go down to the river (I am not in the best shape). Nor did I realize how small and narrow the staircase was (did I mention I'm out of shape) LOL. With that said, everything was clean, view was beautiful, and owner was very responsive. Hope they get internet by next time reserve :)

Romantic cabin, retaliatory wife
Good first- cabin & location was truly beautiful, it’s exactly the romantic vacation needed to bring the spice back into our relationship. The sounds of the river with the cabin door open or just simply sitting on the deck really make you feel grounded & one with nature. I seldom make reviews other than simply giving star ratings, this time I felt Its needed. The reason being the communication during & after our check out. The sad part is, this cabins location is truly incredible. But the communication with the owner really made the overall experience a sour one. I booked this rental after reading the reviews. The most recent review was a 1 star, however I did not let that deter me- it seemed as though the owners responded appropriately. Little did I know that is probably not the case for that renter during their experience. On July 31 they wrote a review that the cabin was extremely hot, the owner of the property then commented that they reached out and in fact bought a brand new AC unit. When I read that I thought first how caring it was for the owner to listen to the input of a renter and get a new AC unit. The week that we were staying was going to be in the 90s so AC was a must because I have a heart condition & a certified service dog. As soon as we got into the unit we noticed the AC was not working- it was unbearably hot inside the cabin. The carpet was completely soaked- So much so my husband slid across the title and fell. I reached out to the owner to see how we could turn the AC on. The owners chris came out with AC unit & asked for our help in setting it up, great no problem we helped. The husband Chris was so nice, while talking he noticed my heart monitor and I shared a little about my condition and how my ADA service dog alerts me when my blood sugar dips before I pass out. Fast forward to check out- little did we know the wife frustration clearly carried over about having to fix the AC unit so the cabin wasn’t 90+ degrees for us. Well she got the last word after we checked out by saying my dogs scratched the door, peed on the carpet and had to much hair. I cleaned up more than requested, always do. I booked a pet friendly cabin and paid for my one dog who is a pet. My service dog is ADA certified and has never been an issue at any rental before. Never once were the dogs left in the cabin alone. I feel like the wife’s actions were retaliation then made me pay for my ADA service dog. Upon arrival take pictures!
