Thank you for the Review. We have gotten our heated floors working again and will look into the latch on the sliding door as this is the first we've heard of that. Glad you were able to get back in- As far as the heat upstairs being a little warmer, we'd recommend adjusting the vent, but will certainly take a look and see if we can't balance the heat a little better with the central unit.

Thank you Derek for taking the time to review our Lake Tahoe getaway. Sorry to hear about the fireplace... We just had that fixed. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the creek and personally I'm even more happy that you enjoyed the Vintage Snowboards I've put up on display! That means a lot to me and just one of the little touches that we hoped would set the Brookside Chalet apart from some of the other vacation rentals in Lake Tahoe.

Thank you for your review. The pictures are all taken by a professional using a wide angle lens to better show the area. We're sorry the deck was not up to your standards and we have notified our cleaning crew to look into exactly what the issue is. It's unfortunate that you could not have let us know these issues upon your arrival so we could have remedied the hair dryer and deck, rather than here within a review 2 weeks after checkout.

Hello Donna, While we do appreciate all feedback and suggestions, many of these seem a bit subjective... and that's okay. The mountains and homes located among nature aren't for everyone. Let us address each issue: 1) Back Deck is completely un-usable: We arrived and stayed at the property just after your stay and found no issues. Is there sap? Yes! That's called being surrounded by gigantic pine trees. Do we pressure wash it? Yes, of course we do, but nature is going to nature, and power washing between every guest just isn't realistic. 2) Broken Glass? Not sure what you are talking about? 3) Toiletries: We provide single serve shampoos, conditioners and hand soaps in both bathrooms along with soaps. Not sure what more you expect. 4) A Mouse? Yes, when you leave a door open at houses that are surrounded by a forest, mice will occasionally invite themselves in. They don't live in the house I can assure you. Again, we stayed a week after your departure and found no sign of rodents or mice , even with our two dogs present. We really do appreciate the feedback but a 2-star review? That's pretty harsh... Seems like you're missing the plot that these are A) homes in nature and B) hosted by everyday people (Not Hotels). What's probably the biggest disappointment is that you didn't even attempt to reach out to us with such concerns. Why? If these items were such a big deal warranting a lousy 2-star review, why didn't you contact us? We would have bent over backwards to try to make your stay more enjoyable. Perhaps staying at The Ritz may be a better option next time you visit Lake Tahoe.

Hello Brad, Thank you for the review and the heads up on the hot water. We are having that fixed as of writing and an on-demand hot water heater should fix this issue so everyone can have steaming hot showers going forward. Hello Nemil, Thank you for your stay. We have addressed the lighting and hot tub issues. The hot tub should always be set to 104 for each guest. Thank you ;)

Hi Rebecca, We're very sorry to hear this and not to have responded. This is not the norm, but sometimes responses slip through the cracks. We have received the message and we immediately informed our cleaning crew. Being in the mountains back against forest land, there are mice that occasionally find their way in, especially during Springtime. We take cleanliness and the guest experience very seriously. The mattress is a top rated foam, which is not everyone's cup of tea. We can't please everyone! Thanks for taking the time to review and inform us, as we always strive to do better. Betsy and Devin
