NOT a Dog Friendly Cabin
The cabin is in a great location with a nice deck to enjoy the view of the beautiful trees. Unfortunately, this is NOT a dog friendly cabin. The 1st floor consist of two bedrooms and a bathroom. A SPIRAL staircase is the ONLY access to the 2nd floor where the kitchen, family room, deck, and master bedroom is located. I saw the picture of the spiral stair but I wrongly assumed a second traditional stair case existed off the deck that surrounds the entire cabin. My wife and I, in our 70’s, could not get our 10 year old lab up the spiral stairs until the next day when our son arrived. Also, upon our arrive, there was dog feces that had been stepped on the outdoor stairs leading to the front door. More dog feces

Dream cabin
The cabin is a dream and has a good, cozy feel. Everything worked. The cabin was very clean, the layout is great, plenty of space. The zero plastic amenities was nice touch. We enjoyed the view to the mountain tops, trees surrounding the cabin, the deck with teak furniture, the quiet location, walking distance to trails, simply everything was so wonderful.

Nice little getaway
Good place for family. We were sad to be notified AFTER we booked that the main park to hike with kids was going to be closed during our stay; we felt that info should have been included in the property details for that timeframe. Otherwise property was pretty much as described.

Charming retreat nestled in the woods
This was an absolutely lovely stay. The house was clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. The only caveat is there is a narrow spiral staircase to access the second floor where the kitchen and living room are. If there are people in your party that have difficulty accessing stairs, it might be a little difficult. This won’t be an issue for the majority of people. We loved our stay here and can’t wait to return!

Wonderful property
Property was just as described. Within walking distance of several hiking trails. Very clean. Beautiful view from the spacious balcony. Minor issues were that a lot of the windows either don’t open or were very difficult to open/close and the spiral staircase was the only way to get to the main living space or outdoor balcony making it impossible for our dog to be on the same level as us. Overall, it was a great house that was very peaceful and relaxing

A beautiful house in Idyllwild
Tucked away in the trees this is a beautiful house that is perfect for a long weekend stay. Suitable for 1 or 2 families with kids. Adults can play cards upstairs while the kids play downstairs. Across the road is a great hike and the town of Idyllwild is a short drive away.

We really enjoyed staying here. The three hiking trails we did were close by. The cabin is spacious and comfortable! A short drive into town. We recommend the Idyllwild Brewing Company and Idyllwild Pizza as two great eating spots.

Charming clean well stocked. Forced air heating worked great, and plenty of hot water. Cons: VERY steep and unsafe steps from driveway to front door. Could be helped by installing a handrail. VERY steep and scary spiral staircase to main living area. Carrying everything and down almost made the stay not worth it. Finally NO CELL SERVICE. Yes there is Wi-Fi but none of us could actually make or take a call. Suggest property management install a landline for emergencies.

Great place for a stay in the woods!
We had a wonderful time at this house in the woods. We enjoyed the deck each day and the large fireplace each night. The kitchen was well equipped and we loved the option of grilling out as well. The beds are comfy and the property is well maintained. It was a short drive to town. We also took advantage of the great hiking that is right outside the door of this house. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again!

The wrap around deck was a great feature for our kids to play on, and to have dinner on each night. My kids loved the spiral staircase Great access to hiking Quiet neighborhood Close enough to downtown to access restaurants and remote enough that there was very little traffic kids enjoyed playing in the jacuzzi tub (master bath) after hiking all day was nice to have some puzzles for some quiet activities

Nice property in need of some attention.
While the home is lovely and the location is good, we did not find the property to be clean or in good working order. The dining room light and fan was inoperable, the dishwasher would not start and there is no screen door on the patio door making it impossible to leave open for ventilation without mosquitos and flies entering. The property was generally not in a clean condition. Counters had food and sticky stuff on them, bathroom tiles needed to be scrubbed and kitchen cabinet doors had dried spots all over the fronts. There were numerous cobwebs in the home which indicates to me that the cleaning crew is suboptimal. Also, the lack of quality utensils and knives, chipped/unmatched dinnerware, poor quality kitchen towels and oven mitt made for a disappointing cooking/dining experience at the cabin. The home is lovely but is showing its age and use. Some small investments in correcting the above items and adding additional lighting and purchasing some new pillows would really make the home much more comfortable for guests.

Vacasa is NOT helping with the issue
Front door area is infested with 1000's of bugs (needs to be sprayed or some type of treatment). Patio covered in debris and cob webs. Cob webs throughout the inside. Window sills extremely dirty Spider web in master bath and a spider actually jumped on my family members back. Ants in master bath and kitchen continuously since arrival. Mold growing on the shower walls in downstairs bath. A couple of the window cranks (to open the window) are broken. Air conditioning would not ever get to a cool enough temp and there is only 1 fan in the house that didn't really even blow air. We were in town for my sons Wedding rehearsal dinner and his wedding and really needed a clean/cool space to relax a bit and get ready for the events. My thought is that the property needs some attention. I spoke with Vacasa immediately after leaving and was assured at minimum i would be refunded the cleaning deposit and that they would talk to see if there was more they can do for me to never hear back and now I have reached out again at least 4 times and never get a call back or an email....Terrible service.

Cozy and Beautiful
My wife, dog, and I had a wonderful stay. The view from the deck of the trees is so peaceful, the property is quiet, the kitchen has everything we needed, and there were a ton of little touches that our doggie really appreciated. A couple of points worth considering if you book this property: 1. Cell reception (Verizon) is inconsistent are best, though the WiFi is great. 2. The property is managed by vacasa. If you need anything it’s a 20-minute wait on the phone and they didn’t respond to several messages we sent. Nothing that should prevent you from booking, but good to be aware of

Location, location, location!
This is perfect place to rewind! The cabin is beautiful and the location is ideal - close to Humber Park and numerous hiking trails - and only a short drive to town. We enjoyed the wrap-around deck with all the great views, the well-appointed kitchen and the comfy beds. We will definitely return for many more enjoyable visits. Thank you for sharing your cabin!

We enjoyed staying up here. The master bedroom blinds may need to be updated. Overall very nice place. Would recommend others to stay here. Close enough to town and far enough away to feel like you’re in the woods. Strawberry Creek was a plus as well. Thanks Tyler and Britt

Beautiful Cabin tucked into woods below Tahquitz peak
We had an awesome two nights in this quaint charming, two-story cabin. We were surrounded by snow, trees and mountains. When the fireplace was going and we were relaxing it felt like paradise. Special thanks to the cleaning guy who was there before we checked in, he was very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

Cute and cozy cabin!
We absolutely loved our stay in this cute and cozy cabin. The price was perfect and it fit all 7 people comfortably. It was an easy process of booking and checking in/out. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, and eating utensils. The only downside was the lighting in the cabin was a little dull and the master bedroom bathroom light wouldn’t brighten past the lowest setting which made it extremely hard to do anything in there once the sun went down unless you had a flashlight. I will definitely be booking this cabin again in the future!

Great location but...
We just returned from our trip where we rented this property for 5 days. The location is great-in a less traveled part of town yet still close to everything including trail heads. The issue that I have is with the cleanliness of the property. The carpet is so heavily stained and torn in spots which they do a great job of leaving out of the pictures. There was a small piece of broken glass on the floor in the living room that it made me wonder just how well they actually clean/vacuum the carpets. The futon that is shown in one of the pictures has a large stain on it and I would not let a guest sleep on that, let alone myself. Cobwebs everywhere. I understand that the occasional cobweb is to be expected, esp in a mountain setting but they were literally everywhere and again, makes me wonder how much attention is actually paid in cleaning this property. I will say that the bed linens did appear to have been changed and clean. So they had that going for them. The view from the deck is gorgeous but there were not as many chairs or tables as is shown in the pictures on the website so it made it a little challenging to share space with our guests outdoors. While I will say our stay at this property was not horrible, it is not a space that I would ever return to due to the lack of cleanliness and attention to the decor.

A nice small place, but could use an update on furnishings and carpeting
This home is in a great location and is a nice little cabin. The living space ( kit,din and living) is quite small. A couple with a few little kids would be comfortable but this is probably not big enough for 3 couple to stay. The house's upholstery, carpeting and furnishings as a whole a a bit worn and stained and would have to be replaced before we would consider staying here again.

Clean, spacious and quiet
This was a great place to stay for anyone who needs three bedrooms (3 queen beds). The views from the living area are spectacular, the kitchen was convenient, and the lodge/cabin is located in Fern Valley -- nice and quiet! Beware of the garbage disposal. We tidied up before leaving and I gave it a go, and it spewed little bits from the opposite sink. If I'd known, I would have put a plug in that sink. Not a big deal.

Great location, rustic accomodations
This cabin was in an excellent location, right at the entrance of some good hiking trails. The wrap around deck was phenomenal and the kitchen was fully stocked. There was a very nice grill on the deck that we were able to cook dinner on. For the price, I think we got a fair value, however the communication with the management company was not great (I left two voice mails for the local property manager before check in with no response) and there were a few things that needed attention inside the cabin. The beds are not very comfortable and the bathrooms were very dated with shower doors that were not functional. I would recommend this property for a rustic vacation in a great location for hiking.

Really cute, well-stocked, close to Humber Park
We had a wonderful time staying here. Lots of good things - plenty of room for the 6 of us, including a comfy futon; bathrooms nicely stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and soap; plenty of towels, sheets, and blankets; lights for the outside steps; light switches all labeled; nice big kitchen table with a drop-in leaf (we had to hunt for it, but it was nice to be able to extend the already good-sized table). Also, good wi-fi connection, comfy couches, and I appreciated the shutters on the bedroom windows, both for light and privacy. Couple things that weren't great - the last "walk-through" before our stay wasn't very thorough, as we found beer bottles outside, dog leavings on the deck, and a backed up garbage disposal. We also couldn't find any soap for the dishwasher or washing machine. While the futon was very soft, the rest of the beds were very hard, almost difficult to sleep on. But all in all, a very cute place, heater worked well, we all enjoyed ourselves, and the slope to the side of the house made a great sledding spot for the kids with the snow we got.

Great location! Awesome access to sledding and hiking.
The house was clean and cozy. The hike to the front door was challenging with little kids. The stairs in the house are very steep and not for older pups or elderly. Definitely bring extra cozy warm blankets, and zip lock bags or your own storage if cooking your own meals. Overall awesome place to stay.

Lovely views and great location
Charming winter get away for thanksgiving weekend. Entrance to cabin is quite daunting for elderly or handicapped (not visible in pictures). Master shower is a two foot deep step in to tub base. Step off from raised master bath not marked for safety. Lovely fireplace. Fabulous deck. Best to arrive in daylight. Well equipped older kitchen.

This was our first time to Idyllwind... we were looking for a cute cottage that was close to hiking trails. This house definitely delivered! Cozy, yet with plenty of room, situated just a short walk to the park entrance. Couldn't be happier with the stay!

Cozy cabin in the woods
We had a great time at the property, there was enough room for our group of 5. The wrap around porch is great for lounging and grilling out. It's very close - a short uphill hike - to Humber Park which has some great trails, and a short drive to the "downtown" area and other restaurants. The bathrooms were stocked with little hotel soaps which we appreciated, and the kitchen had all the basics to cook a meal. Would recommend to others looking for a place to stay in Idylllwild.

The patio had no light and we had to look for the lamps to change it, The first night was Ok, as soon as we started taking shower we found out the master bedroom has a problem and pips were leaking. Water was all over the place and we had clean the mess, bedrooms downstairs they were full of water and bedrooms all wet, Couldn't really use the beds and we had to sleep on the sofas and floor. Call the manager but we did not get any respond. you be the judge. Would you leave a nice feedback ?

House was nice, amenities offered was FALSE.
House was as advertised, however amenities offered were completely false. Owner states the house included cable, internet, and a DVD player which all three were missing. Advertising such amenities in a secluded mountainous area are extremely important when seeking a place to stay in this area. When I called management company to fix, they failed to return all calls and have still failed to respond to any request for any sort of discussion on the matter 3 weeks later. By the error message on the cable, it was evident service was shut off and problem was not from a mechanical error. If modern amenities cable, internet, and DVD player are important for your stay, I would not recommend this property.

We had a wonderful time at the cabin, enjoyed the scenery and the trails close by, we enjoy cooking and we could have used some pots and pans in better shape, we had to scramble through many pots and pans that were very worn out, and some of the windows didn't open and got a little stuffy, other than that overall we enjoyed the cabin

Loved the cabin in the trees
We absolutely loved the cabin with a wraparound deck and awesome views of Tahquitz Rock on one side, and imposing cliffs on the other, filtered by tall pines. A lovely cabin with a well stocked kitchen and large stone fireplace in the living room as well as wood stove downstairs was our home for five nights in April, rain and shine. Close to Humber Park hiking trails and away from the bustle of town, it was perfect. The cabin has the little free library style book shelves for book exchange - next time, we will bring something to leave! We loved this cabin and look forward to returning. Note - if you struggle with stairs, there are quite a few outside and there is a spiral staircase inside. But the cabin is well worth it.
