So Much Potential... But...
This place has sooooo much potential. This was our 2nd time staying here and unfortunately it will be our last. The last time we stayed here, the rotten egg water smell was unbearable. I can gladly say that the bad water smell has be greatly reduced. However, now the property inside and out is being overrun by stinkbugs. Literally the entire inside had stinkbugs everywhere dead on the floor and flying around. It's the mountains, so I get it, bugs are around. This isn't that. This is literally an infestation. I'm talking about 100's of dead/alive stinkbugs EVERYWHERE. On top of that, really only (1) shower was functional which was very disappointing. Especially if you're bringing a large group. I paid for (3) functional bathrooms. You know? The shower downstairs was completely broken, the shower in the master bedroom was unusable due to the fact that it leaks onto the floor. The 3rd shower was functional, but again, I paid for 3 showers. Not 1. The setting is great. Not secluded, as other houses are within 200-300 feet or so. But it does feel somewhat private. Almost EVERYTHING on the property is in a state of disrepair... literally EVERYTHING. For what we paid, this place should be more well maintained. The downstairs is great. There's plenty to do. Pool, cards, fosball...etc...etc. The downstairs game area is the crown jewel of this property. There is directv onsite which is great. However, there is no wifi as advertised. So...Much... Potential...Wasted.

Wonderful place
We had a really great time staying here. The house is very large and worked great for us. The WiFi did not work while we were there but we didn’t mind that at all. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

Very big place, needs updated. Two showers out of 3 didn't work. Carpets in master suite needs replaced. The full bed in where full bed is needs to be made sturdy along with the bunkbeds. Drapes or window coverings in that same room are needed. Place suited our needs for Thanksgiving. Big 12 seat table in dining room is very nice. Internet does not work. It is DSL. Summer outings would be nice here.

Family vacation
The pictures of the house did not align with the property. It needed some much needed landscaping, the carpets were filthy, the water smelled like rotten eggs, the tub in the master suite leaked and if that wasn’t enough the roof leaked. Very disappointing

Great Long Weekend
This property is fantastic for a group of people. My friends and I had an amazing time. The owner is super nice and always answered on the first phone call. We have already talked about renting this place again at some point.

Nice But Could Be Better
Overall our stay was nice. However, the water still smells absolutely horrible. The rotten egg smell of the water is almost unbearable. The last 2 days of our stay none of us showered. The place is a wonderful place to go but the water situation is a big deal. No internet was available. Luckily I had wifi tethering to my phone. Other than those 2 things, the place is amazing.

Great house but needs work
The house was nice but it could use some upgrades. All 8 of us (6 adults and 2 older kids) enjoyed the game room and we got alot of use out of it and it kept everyone interacting together. The water has a stinky odor. The master shower leaks do to a bad design when installed. We kept seeing bugs in the master bedroom (we think termites). The carpet in the master bedroom had several stains and looked dirty. Only one ac unit worked out of the 2 and with 90 degree temps outside, we had hoped for better. The wifi is so weak that we were better off not using it. Overall we would still give the house a 7 out of 10 rating if you can get past the flaws. We made the best of it and still enjoyed our trip as always.

Amazing View and great Location
I don't really understand any negative reviews. Yes there is a sulfur odor to the water, but it does not transfer to the air or your body; you only notice it while running water. So we didn't drink tap water, but we used it for everything else. The cabin is huge with an amazing view from the back, an awesome kitchen table, and a whole lot more. The game room, patio, outdoor fire pit, family room, screened in patio (with fireplace) and proximity to lake activities make this cabin perfect for a larger family. The owners /property managers even went WAY beyond the call of duty to address a small issue we had, AND then the owner even helped us with a problem we had with our boat (certainly not his problem). I would highly recommend!

Perfect vacation
We have a boat at Raystown and typically camp for a week each summer but went this direction this summer. I am so glad we did! The house was perfect and the location was ideal. It was big enough for our large group and we had a blast!

DISGUSTING!!!
This property was a huge disappointment!! The water has an extremely offensive over powering odor of raw sewage that engulfs the entire home!!! It is absolutely disgusting and needs to be corrected! Even the laundry reeked! Home was not clean. Was extremely disappointed that sheets and towels were not provided. It’s inconvenient to travel and bring your own linens. Drainage issues with the master shower that flooded the bathroom floor! Be warned!

We are very sorry you were disappointed with the house. A new septic system was installed less than a month prior to your stay. Any odor would have been residual from that. A vent was installed in the laundry area as well to eliminate any odors. I have addressed the cleaning issues with our crew. Thank You

Great View
The property was very nice and the view amazing. However the kitchen could use some updated cookware and also some better lighting. The well water has an awful hydrogen sulfide smell and I understand it has been shocked but the well water needs to be conditioned. I understand that is a very expensive undertaking. But my family will not return because of it. Regardless of the view. Everything else was just amazing and we had a great 4 days. Thank you very much.

Has potential for being a great house.
The size is fantastic, the view is great, the fire pit was wonderful. Here are the issues. The house has a mouse problem. Not sure how many mice. We found a dead one in a closet. In the kitchen 4 draws had mouse droppings. On our last evening at the house when I went into the bedroom I found a dropping on the bed we were sleeping in. We washed the dishes we used before using them and stored them in the dishwasher. Two of the doors on the house don’t lock. The grill was out of propane so we had to hunt for a tank to use. The grass was high which made it difficult to find the dog poop. We may have missed some. Our biggest issue was the mice droppings. I really hope that issue gets resolved.

Beautiful property
The photos in the listing don't do this place justice. It was lovely and we had more than enough room for the 4 of us. A group of 6-8 would fit comfortably. The view off the deck is amazing, the furniture is very comfortable, and the kids (and adults) had a blast with the game room. Great location also, very close to Huntingdon proper and also 7 points marina.

Great time near the lake!
This property is perfect for what we wanted. We visited my Juniata College student and had a blast for the weekend with some of our friends. The house has a beautiful view of the valley. The basement recreation room was a ton of fun and we had plenty of room for everyone. We were only minutes from the College and less than 20 minutes from Raystown Lake. Great memories.

Great place for our group of 10 people.
This was a nice property for gathering with family and a few friends with young adult kids for a long weekend. The large open space with kitchen, very large kitchen table and adjacent living room worked out great for our group. We also enjoyed the fire ring outside one evening where we could all gather around.

Great house with great view and close to Raystown Lake
This house was perfect for our family's Father's Day weekend Dad/son trip. The game room is paradise if you like pool, air hockey darts, ping pong, etc. It has four bedrooms but the game room is huge and extra sleeping space at that level. The view is spectacular ! Close to downtown Huntingdon and Raystown Lake. Great fire pit and easy access. Will definitely be back. Steve the manager is awesome!

Nice stay
The description was accurate. This was a nice house at a great location with easy and quick travel to/from Juniata College. The kitchen was large and had everything we needed; the back porch and fire pit were great; wonderful views. A few minor things: (i) the wi-fi was very weak, (ii) the bedroom off the kitchen (with the twin + bunk beds) was in the laundry room with the washer/dryer which was a bit unusual and wasn't shown in the pictures [that room also did not have window coverings, so the morning sun lit up the room at 6am, which our kids didn't like so much], (iii) there was a fireplace in the screened in porch but it didn't work (I believe the propane tank was empty), and (iv) the "games" in the basement are quite old - the ping pong table was a bit warped, the foosball table didn't have any balls in it - but the kids still had fun down there. Those were little things but I wish I would've known those before we stayed there which is why I'm pointing them out. But it was a nice house, with modern appliances, plenty of space, a great view, a great location.

Had a great weekend with friends and family. The home was actually bigger than what the pictures show. Plenty of space for everyone. The basement was great and easy access to screened porch and outside fire pit. The picnic tables were an added surprise. Overall a great weekend had by all and would definitely stay again.

Bringing in the New Year with family
We planned this long holiday weekend with our 3 adult children and their spouses to come together in a central location to all of us. The house was even bigger than we expected and perfect to have a fun relaxing 4 days with family. House was clean, beds were comfortable and the rec room was a lot of fun. Even the living room on the main floor was spacious and perfect to open Christmas gifts while enjoying a warm fire in the fireplace. Went for a shirt hike at nearby Hawn's and Ridenour Overlook. *Note regarding other reviews and the sulphur smell from the laundry room....yes, there is a definite sulphur odor when running the washing machine and also when running water and showering, but the it really only lasted while the water was running, and the rest of the features of the house far outweigh that small issue. It did not negatively affect our experience. I would recommend this property.

Christmas at the mountains
The cabin was beautiful and clean. The huge game room downstairs was alot of fun and spent alot of family time down there. The only negative part was the sulfur smell in the water....when brushing teeth and showering. And the trash dumpster, we had a bit if a problem trying to get rid of our trash. It was very full. Veterans day weekend trip
Overall the house was a good spot for me and 5 of my buddies from the army. It was clean and a little out dated, but for us it was a perfect spot. The basement game room was the one place that we spent the most time in. The only downfall was the fact that only one pool table was really usable, but a great spot to just chill and hang out. The main thing that we had a problems within the house was the musty sulfur like smell that was coming from the laundry room and water in the house. Great Property
We spent a long weekend at this house with another family. It is a great option for those looking to spend time in nature and also have a fun home. The downstairs makes the house for kids. Things we enjoyed: Pool table, fooseball, ping pong, fire pit, cornhole, the deck for sitting and relaxing. The house has lots of space and plenty of room. The kitchen is decent size with almost all pots, pans, etc needed. The house is on a busy (ish) country road which may detract from a house in the woods feeling, but we did not hear much noise from traffic. The plus side is you are close to town if you need any items. The only con to the house is there is a slightly musty smell in the laundry room with the bunk beds. The kids didn't care though. Overall, would highly recommend!

What I wish I had known before booking
If you're looking celebrating a reunion/party /bachelor/bachelorette, this property is probably perfect. However, if you're like my family of 5 adults who wanted a nice place for a long weekend getaway, here's what I wish I had known. Before I dive in, let me just say, we were ENORMOUSLY grateful for the chlorine water treatment that has fixed the sulfur smell. I can't emphasize enough: The water DOES NOT SMELL of sulfur. Otherwise: 1. The property really needs a lot of maintenance. ~When we arrived, the toilet in the master bath was not functional. The tank lid was sitting on the toilet seat, and there was no water in the tank. It took multiple phone calls and half a day to get this fixed the day after we checked in. ~We didn't even venture onto the "screened in" porch on the lower level, but 80% of the screens are busted out. ~fixtures are falling off the walls, recliners are broken, doors are creeky; and that beautiful, giant grill in the pics? Yeah, it doesn't work. (There's a smaller, functional grill beside it.) ~The big tiled table on the upper deck is fine, but has a lot of tiles missing which makes it unpleasant to use if you want to have everyone seated around it for a meal. 2. It's not the cleanest property I've ever seen, which is especially alarming during a global pandemic. ~That broken grill I mentioned? It still has someone else's disgusting onion on it from a previous stay. (Haul away the darn grill!) ~We arrived to a rain-soaked ashtray full of disgusting cigarette butts on the table beside the other grill. ~One of the pots in the cabinet had 1/8" crusted, burnt food still on it. ~There was hard toothpaste on the front of the master bath under-sink cabinet from previous guests ~ Lots of wooden molding (including that bathroom cabinet) was caked with dust from what I would guess is a lack of dusting...ever. ~Lots of what I'm guessing are dog pee stains in front of the sliding door in the master BR. Shampoo the carpet, already! 3. My husband and I are in our 50s with the beginnings of arthritis. The oversized master bath tub is VERY difficult to get in/out of for a shower if you have knee or hip pain. There's a several-inch tile casing around the tub that makes it more difficult. Just something to be aware of if it applies to you. 4. We left an extension cord in the master BR closet. Plug your phone in there and bring the little round table from the porch in as a night stand if you're on the door-side of the bed.

Great space for what we needed.
Stayed with my husband and 4 kids. Tons of space and entertainment for our kiddos. My kids range from 7-16 years old. We chose this house because of all of the extra entertainment in the basement. I was leery after reading several of the reviews. But overall was pleased. The house was not perfectly spotless, but we were in the woods, I mean people come on. There were fresh flowers in the kitchen. It felt more like being at home than in a stuffy hotel. We roasted marshmallows one night. And even though it was 90° during the day, it was comfortable enough to eat dinner outside and enjoy the amazing view. Close to civilization but it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. Overall a great experience.

Great view and a house with plenty of space and games. Phone signal for most carriers is not very good.... just a heads up for those headed there to check with your carrier to see if there are towers nearby or if you’ll need to use roaming .

Really nice stay!
We booked this house last minute and were not disappointed! The view is absolutely amazing and we were close enough to Seven Points beach to go back and forth quite a few times to fish and swim. The master bedroom was beautiful and we were pleasantly surprised to see all of the awesome activities in the game room. We did have a water issue with the master bath and called to have it checked out and there was someone there to assist us within minutes. The smell of the well water can be a bit off-putting if you're not used to it, but it really wasn't noticeable. There are also a few stains on the carpets but in a house that can hold upwards of 12 to 15 people, that's to be expected. All-in-all, we had a wonderful time and will definitely consider this place one of our first choices to book upon returning to Huntingdon! Also, thank you to whomever left the ethernet cord!! It made working on my laptop at the desk so easy!

Wonderful trip
We had a wonderful time starting at this property. It was exactly what we were looking for, in a great location. We were enough to stores to stock up on things we needed, close enough to multiple points of the lake and boat launches, but still far enough and secluded to have privacy and be in the woods. Beautiful views, wonderdul home, and the property owner was so friendly. We will be back!

Bigger than expected
This was an older home, but a nice place for the family gathering we had. The smell of the water made it uncomfortable to wash dishes and get showers. The back deck needs more balusters to prevent accidental falls. Our dog almost fell because the roof of the porch underneath extended past the deck and she thought she could walk out onto it. The game room, fire pit, and bigger dining room table and island were pleasant surprises. They were better than the pictures showed. We had a beautiful, relaxing time! We certainly appreciated the use of your home.

We found a place to be just about everything that we expected. We did feel the back deck area was not child safe or pet friendly as the balusters need to be closer and there should be a gate closing off the deck exit to the front yard. The water did have a sulfur odor and the Wi-Fi was slow but other than that we would definitely book again and recommend this place for others!! These are just suggestions for future renters, Not really complaints. Good luck in the future with your rentals as you have a wonderful property

Great Place for a Family Gathering
Home is older and needs some repairs.Screens on the downstairs porch are torn. The master bath tub is designed in such a way that lots of water gets on the floor while showering and the temperature downstairs was cool. But overall, it was great place for the family to gather. The view from the rear deck is beautiful. The game room downstairs has everything you need keep everyone entertained if the weather outside is bad. The beds were comfortable. There is a large kitchen table so everyone can sit together. The cookware in the kitchen is limited so plan accordingly. When we arrived the home had not been cleaned, but one call to the owner and they were there is a few minutes to take care of everything (which was amazing considering it was the night before Thanksgiving).

Nice view, convenient location
The home was located close to town so convenient for supply shopping. We enjoyed relaxing on the private deck and enjoyed the fire pit. There was plenty of room. The carpets need refreshing and there are some issues using the shower in the master bathroom ( bring plenty of towels the jacuzzi bath makes it difficult to contain the shower water). The tub was great! We had some issues with the heat at the end of our stay but the owner was very responsive.

Anytime we rent a home or Hotel upon entering I walk the property and take a lot of pictures. Upon entering the property I walked around and took pics of concerning Items. First as I entered I found lots of dead ants laying on the floors in more than 1 room in the house. As I continued walking around I found that a bunch of the outlet covers were missing. This is a big electrical safety issue. There were also many light bulbs burnt out or missing. We found some in a closet and replaced some. Then I went down to the basement and a bunch of the ceiling tiles were stained and warped from being wet. The screening on the out side screened in porch was ripped. Plus other things but I only have little space to write review. One of the biggest concerns is the fact that there was only 1 real shower. The shower in the master bedroom can not be used as a shower even though they had a shower head and a certain up. that is a tub only! this is why most of the ceiling tiles in the basement are stained. water from showering in there goes all over and any water that goes on the tub deck drips into the basement. I think the price we paid per night was way to high for what we received. It was a nice Home but needs a bit of work to get things up to code to rent.

We enjoyed our stay very much! The house was clean, well-appointed and comfortable. Suggestions might include keeping spare blankets in the closets, as well as additional serving pieces in the kitchen. Overall, though, it was a great place with beautiful views!

Fantastic! Could not have been better.
We rented this house for a graduation in State College. While a little further than we really wanted to be, this place was so worth staying at. The ride to State College was beautiful. The view was awesome and the house was perfect for the 10 of us. The downstairs game room was a real hit with everyone. The place was well stocked with everything we needed, including a large grill on the big wrap-around deck. The large kitchen table sits at least 12! We may consider this for a football game weekend.

Ok stay but not happy!
The cabin is very nice. Very clean. The game room had something for everyone to do. But my family could not get passed the overwhelming bad sulfur odor of the water. (A rotten egg smell)When you showered it left a horrific stench throughout the cabin. When you washed dishes..same. We ran a load of wash and the whole cabin smelled puitrid. The cabin has beautiful bathtubs but forget about it! You could not stand the odor long enough and it left you feeling filthy. We all ended up brushing our teeth with bottled water because the odor was so hard to stomach and made you nauseous. I saw the reviews after I booked this cabin and thought people were being exaggerate when I read the reviews. Boy was I wrong! There seemed to be a water treatment system on site but we didn't think it was in use. I have had cabins before that had well water but never been so unbearable as at this one. I'm terribly sorry to give a bad review because the cabin is in great shape and has wonderful amenities but we spent so much of our time complaining about this one mismanaged detail.

Thank You for taking the time to review our property! We are so sorry the water issue was untolerable, since your stay we have concentrated on correcting this issue. The odor and sulfar smell has finally been corrected as of March this year. We hope that you will consider rebooking in the future so you can truly enjoy the amenities this house has to offer!
