New Year's Eve Getaway
We spent the Holiday at Greenwood Lake. This house/rental was perfectly located on the lake. It was a wonderful way to ring in the new year. For this house/rental, it is all about location. The only difficulty we had was the stairs. However, they were worth it for the 3 levels of spectacular views.

What an amazing lakefront retreat!
We had such a wonderful time staying at this beautiful modern style home surrounded by beautiful art works and lake views everywhere! We loved staying all day on the deck, that had a perfect combination of sun and shade throughout the day, fishing, swimming and kayaking! We were lucky with the weather staying around low 80s with a nice cooling breeze; and it was great to have the kitchen on the first floor so we didn't have to go too far for snacks and beverages. Jeanny was such a gracious host, meeting us and showing us the house and all the great amenities. Her "things to-do" list has everything one can think of and we took advantage of their marina connection to take a pantoon boat for a day and do a couple of hours of water sports based on their recommendation as well. Our favorite thing though was falling asleep to the view of the lake and the stars, and waking up to the sunrise over the mountains and the lake looking like a mirror in the morning!

EXCELLENT Host, good place
Jeany was an unbelievable host. She was so responsive and helpful. The place was absolutely spotless when we got there, and Jeany's warmth really set a great tone for the weekend. The place was very nice, although I do think the pictures make it seem a little nicer and more modern than it really is. For what it's worth, only the top two floors have central air (although the floor unit on the first floor is quite effective), and the sliding door on the first floor is a huge pain since it gets stuck so often. Jeany was amazing--when we told her about this she stopped by with some WD40 to try and help the situation (but unfortunately the issue is more structural than that.). Additionally, some of the furniture that isn't pictured is clearly quite old, and in general the place is a mix of super nice bathrooms and art and some furniture, with some really older stuff. For example, the master bathroom has a "european style" shower, which is basically just a bath, with no ability to shower--probably cool for some, but a bit of a pain for us. Or another weird thing--the 2nd floor has all marble floors, which, is just a weird vibe :) However, none of this takes away enough to stop me from giving the place 5 stars. My friends would certainly return again. The dock is amazing, the two included kayaks are a really nice touch. The bathrooms are all really nice. Great water pressure. The lake is AMAZING and we rented a boat from Murphy's cove marina so easily and had a BLAST. The kitchen is really nice, really large. As mentioned, the art in the house is very tasteful and the overall architecture is beautiful. The grill is hooked up and easy to use. Again. Great place, even better host.

Wonderful, beautiful lakefront home
This was a beautiful home right on a pristine lake. Particularly striking location during the Fall with the leaves turning colors. The home itself is bright, spacious, and the kitchen and dining area in particular are wonderful. The deck and outdoor spaces are amazing, but we were visiting off-season so it was a bit cold to use them as much as one might in the Spring or Summer. Would definitely recommend, and it is a short drive from a number of wonderful trails and state parks, as well as only a 35 minute drive from the remarkable Storm King Art Center.

Wonder place to stay
We stayed here as a jumping off ground for legoland. Jeany was readily available and made the check in process very easy. The house had everything we needed and was close to several great restaurants. The house was clean and comfortable and nice and warm. Parking for 4/5 cars was a plus. Tip- when we got there several of the circuit breaker switches were flipped to off and some of the kitchen appliances were not on but a handy check in sheet told us where to go to flip them on. Happy they provided trash bags , sheets , towels and also had some basic condiments. Also had cleaning supplies. We didn’t use the laundry or grill so no comment about that. Overall great experience, especially in an area where there aren’t many choices.

Beautiful Home - Perfect Location
The home was beautiful, clean and well appointed. Host Jeany was very responsive and patient with me (I modified the reservation 3 times). Location was beautiful and the area has plenty of things to do and places to eat. Will definitely be back.

A nice house right on the lake but left with a sour taste.
We were provided a 1.30pm early check in on a Friday which really helped with the work day - finished meetings while at the house. However, we did leave the house with a sour taste. I only ever provide good reviews (happy to share other similar sites) but we received a call during our long weekend stay letting us know that they had a head count on who was at the dock of the house (15) as the neighbors are family of the owner, that we only paid for 8 people and if there were more people we would need to pay more. This was extremely uncomfortable for so many reasons - the additional people were friends who live on the lake and arrived by boat, stayed two hours and left. After the call we were stunned, had a feeling that we were constantly being watched which was so unnecessary. Also, the call wasn’t to tell us we were loud etc (we weren’t, we were just chatting on the dock and had some people relaxing in the lake). It was to tell us what we paid didn’t cover the numbers, absolutely crazy. I did look at the contract after and we were allowed up to 10 at the house so sure, we had 5 additional people for 2 hours - get over it. Aside from that, we tried to enjoy the weekend - the lake is so great. We made use of the kayaks and loved the outdoor space.

Thank you for staying with us. Sorry if you felt that way. You booked the property for 6 people, but you had over 15. This is unacceptable as it is clear in our listing and contract agreement. The house can accommodates up to 10 people at any time, and there is an extra charge after the seventh person. As stated in the listing and as I explained to you, even if your are willing to pay extra we do not allow more guest than agreed on. We had the neighbor calling complaining that he was unable to dock his boat because your group of friends were trespassing on his property and using his dock. Our aim is that our guests enjoy their stay and we try to accommodate them the best we can. We do ask guests to be honest and respectable to the house rules. Please try to understand that if it's not good for us it's not good for you as well.

My "happy" place!
This home was the perfect house for our extended family reunion -- ample space for gathering, sleeping and parking. The gourmet kitchen is perfect for preparing family meals. The outside decking allows everyone to hang, swim and boat, all at the same time. The house has the most awesome lake views from almost every room. And... Jeany, our host, is the best -- doing everything and anything to make our days at the lake memorable. Thanks for the memories!

Nice lake house
The house is very nicely decorated with great view of the lake. Good access to the lake with a deck that can dock a rental boat. We have two families with two 2yr olds enjoyed the house for the weekend. Only caveat is the bedrooms are on three different floors and the stairs are quite steep, need to watch the kids go up and downs.

Girls trip getaway
This house was everything the listing said and more! We had a wonderful time hanging outside on the multiple outsides patios of the house (bring big spray!). The kitchen had all the cooking utensils and cookware needed to prepare each meal. We booked a boat from a local Marina that picked us up right on the dock!! Check in process was amazing we kindly got a tour of the house and got all questions answered! Can’t wait for the next girls trip back!

The view from the house is wonderful. The house is older, furniture is old, bathroom in master has no shower, shower in second floor bathroom is not great, shower in downstairs bathroom is fine, and house is right on a main road. Appliances are fine and property manager is wonderfully helpful and responsive.

Thank you for staying with us. This panoramic waterfront was built in 2002 by a most famous NY architect. Constructed with a commercial curtain wall window 3 stories high with uninterrupted view, glazed with thermo UV light reflective glass. State of art kitchen with commercial appliances suited for entertaining. The interior style is clean and simple, with authentic paintings throughout the house. The furniture are Italian designs purchased in 2009, 2016 & 2020 It's hard to please every guest's style and taste but we do our best to keep it simple and less personal as much as we can. The Master bedroom has a stainless steel jacuzzi bathtub with spa Jets, and classic clawfoot faucet with handshower. The second floor bathroom has a jacuzzi whirlpool jetted tub with shower, and the bathroom on the first floor has a soaking regular tub with shower. All bathrooms are in good working condition. Almost every lakefront property in Greenwood Lake is on the main road and with that in mind all windows in the house are double glazed commercial rated. The Host did respond within minutes to your demand and appeared in person on Saturday night. Most of our guests noted that the pictures on the website don't give justice to this beautiful house and view. We appreciate your feedback as we strive to make it a comfortable stay for all our guests.

Nice Lake House
The property is very nice; the photos are representative of the property. Registration m, check-in & check-out was easy & convenient. The property is awesome for a family, especially if you have teenagers. It worked okay for our group of elderly friends except the 3rd bathroom is not located on the same floor as the 3rd bedroom. If you enjoy watching the sun rise, the master bedroom is perfect for you. The weather was warm & the AC was not properly working which made the master bedroom a virtual sauna during the day. The lowest level is the coolest. The property is ideally located & easy access to nearby activities. The views are stunning! I would recommend the property as long as you understand the minor inconveniences.

Dear Evelyn, I am glad you enjoyed your stay. I apologize for the AC which was working, it was only matter of switching the thermostat from heat to AC, since the early spring temperature in the area swings from 30 degrees to 70 degrees.

Wonderful time with our family!
The lake house is a great home away from home....we went for a few nights during spring break and we had a lovely time. The place was clean. Everything we needed was provided for. The owner, Jeany, was so accommodating that she even lent us kayaks to use. Weather when we went was so cold - but the home kept us all warm and toasty! Pictures on the website doesn’t do it justice! Thanks for a wonderful stay! We hope to visit again real soon! Xo 💖

Dream Stay!
Got this place for my Boyfriends birthday. It slept 8 comfortably. We rented boats while we stayed and was so nice to dock them at the private dock when we were in the house. Layout is wonderful if hosting for friends or family.

Fabulous Vacation
We had the most wonderful few days while staying at this property. The house is situated by Lake Greenwood, not only does it have the most beautiful views and f the lake, it also has direct access to the lake. The house was clean and well equipped and the owners were the most welcoming and caring hosts. I highly recommend this house.

Beautiful property with lots of deck
This is a beautiful home with an expansive deck right on the water. There are many spots to relax and enjoy outside. The views from inside the home are also fantastic! I had to work a little bit during our stay, but had a lot of options with great views. We would definitely rent there again. Jeany is a very thoughtful host.

We had a fabulous girls weekend at Jeany’s house! House was very clean, the view was beautiful and there was plenty of room for our group. We rented a boat and they were able to pick us up and drop us off right along the dock at the property. We had a wonderful weekend and we would love to rent this house again!

Beautiful house on the lake!
The house and the views of the lake are so beautiful, the photos don't quite do it justice. This is a really well-maintained property. Everything is new and clean, and the hosts supply towels and toiletries. There were 8 of us who stayed at the house (all adults) and we had plenty of space. We especially enjoyed dining out on the balcony and taking a swim off the deck in the mornings. Absolutely recommend it for anyone who is looking to get away from the city for the weekend and enjoy an amazing view!

Gorgeous home and friendly host
Jeany was very friendly and her property was gorgeous. We had a group of 8 adults for a long weekend and had a great time. The property was faithful to the listing and had excellent views of the lake. We took advantage of the grill, had enough room to play cornhole on the deck, and rented a boat from a nearby marina. Great waterfront property close to the village with amazing views of Greenwood Lake.
The property mirrored the VRBO listing but the views were better than any camera can capture. We stayed (family of 5 with 3 young children) for a long weekend. Right from the start Jeany was amazing as she greeted us and showed us the property ensuring we had everything we needed for a great stay. Jeany lives next door in another beautiful home and is from southern France...we shared some great stories and she was a great host. The kitchen is amazing with high end appliances if cooking is your thing. We used the outdoor 4 burner grill which was immaculate most of the time since it was an amazing summer weekend. The views do not disappoint. Every area of the house has a view of the beautiful Greenwood Lake. We watched lots of boaters and laid on the large decks with chaise loungers. We also had a boat with us that we were able to store on the homes dock. This made it very easy to take the kids tubing and enjoy the lake life. I know many marinas offer boat rentals but would be cautious on docking if you are not an experienced boater as the dock is pretty tight. We fit a 22’ pontoon. The house was clean. As a parent and being from Florida, here are the negatives: 1. A lot of stairs. We have a 14 month old and she fell in love with the 2 stair cases. My wife and I lost a few pounds chasing her up and down! 2. The bugs. The house has a lot of lights and is on the water. The mosquitoes will find their way in the house. 3. Waterfront and on a busy road. With young kids just know it’s easy for the kids to get to the water and go out the front door that is right on a main road. 4. No drapes. The upstairs main rooms are very bright upstairs so be prepared to wake with the sunrise...which I loved. Overall, we would stay again. Jeany was an amazing host and the house was as advertised.

Amazing lake retreat!
What a beautiful and relaxing lake front property we enjoyed for a weekend. The house is stunning and was very clean and well equipped. Jeany was great and made sure every need was taken care of. Such a treat to be able to jump right into the lake from the back dock, or to relax on a gazebo or deck chair. Highly recommended and we would love to stay here again!

Very nice but not quite up to expectations, based on photos and price
This is a charming lakefront home but the word "showcase" should not be used IMO. Perhaps I and my girlfriend are too picky or our expectations too high. One month prior to our stay at this property we were in Lake Como, Italy, where we rented a much larger, stately, older but recently renovated lakefront villa that was head and shoulders better than this rental, and cost significantly less. That may be comparing apples and oranges, and I don't want to sound like I'm complaining. This property is charming, if a bit quirky. All the rooms have different decor, all the furniture is of different vintage. Very nice kitchen, but smallish master bath with European shower head that has no bracket to attach on the wall, so you have to hold it up with one arm. My girlfriend is tall and preferred to shower in the bathroom two floors down. I encountered several minor gremlins reflecting age of the property but not frank disrepair, which didn't bother me much but did not add to my perception of value either. There is a beautiful deck facing the lake and I wish we had been able to stay for a longer interval, as this and other features were certainly inviting. To anyone that does visit, especially in summer and fall, be advised that lakefront properties along Greenwood Lake are apparently all prey to heavy mosquito presence in the region. So if you go out in the evenings, be sure to close all exterior doors and windows, and TURN OFF front porch lights. We were in the area to attend a wedding and when we returned at about 11 pm after the reception, because we left the front porch lights and interior lights on, the front door was literally covered with a blanket of mosquitos. I had to use my sport coat to chase them away, and still several hundred got inside before we could close the door. This created quite an unanticipated late-night adventure as the owner's instructions specifically ask guests not to squash mosquitos on the walls, for fear of blood stains. The property manager, Jeany, could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Kudos to her for being responsive and available when we had questions. In the grand scheme, we had an enjoyable visit, and the home is ideal for 4 to 6 guests, or maybe 8 if two are kids. If they changed the tag line from "Waterfront Showcase Home" to "Charming Waterfront Home" and reduced the rental a bit, I probably would have arrived with more appropriate expectations, and would have rated it higher accordingly

Amazing!
The house is beautiful and comfortable. It has a unique architecture that makes you feel like you are vacationing in Europe. There were 7 of us staying here and we all fit comfortably. The host is extremely professional and friendly. 5 stars!

The pictures do not do it justice
As the review states, the photos really don't show the full extent of the property. There are three balconies right on the lake, including the ground floor deck which is expansive, with gazebo and stair access to the lake. It also has a dock. Fishing and swimming ideal from this location. Jeanie was an excellent host; meeting us upon arrival and stepping us through the entire property. A/C, washer/dryer, gas grill, kitchen, all excellent. All the guests enjoyed the house and we all had privacy with 3 full bathrooms. We will come back for sure. 5 stars.
